Re: TNA: Under new Management

PWInsider.com
09:34 am June 23rd 2009

We have received several questions in regards the TNA Slammiversary Pay Per View event with Kurt Angle obviously being the most frequently asked about. As things stand, Angle’s TNA Contract expires in September and he is yet to sign the new one that has been on offer for the past two months. TNA have decided to remove him from TV now in case he doesn’t resign as this would prevent him carrying momentum with him should he return to WWE. If however he resigns, he will be brought back. Matt Morgan is in a similar position but his contract runs until December. TNA and Morgan have been in meetings about an extension but as of yet, no advances have been made. Morgan wants TNA to show they believe in him by pushing him hard, but TNA don’t want to waste their time is Morgan isn’t going to be sticking around. Morgan will be off TV for at least the next two months to sell the injuries received by Abyss at Slammiversary. Booker T also suffered a badly busted nose thanks to a Ladder Shot in the main event.

We have also been asked about the two enforcers that Traci Brooks brought with her to Slammiversary. They are Melissa Anderson and Sara Del Rey. While many of you know that, you still wanted to know more about them. Anderson will be going under the name Millita while Del Rey will likely be going simply by Del Rey. As of writing, there are no strong plans to remove the Raisha Saeed character so Anderson will be pulling double duty unless TNA find a replacement to play Saeed. While on the subject of Knockouts, Candice Michelle has been in talks with TNA but they are yet to turn serious. Michelle is good friends with Dixie Carter who for the time being still runs TNA.

TNA are expected to make an official announcement regarding the rumours of a Development Territory later this week.

Re: TNA: Under new Management

Good show! Was hoping that either Christopher Daniels or Styles was going to win the title. Not too thrilled that Sting retained the belt but overall good show!

Re: TNA: Under new Management

PWInsider.com
11:51 am June 24th 2009

We all expected TNA to make an official announcement regarding the proposed development facilities, well, we were all wrong. TNA have quietly added a link to their website. It links to Booker T's PWA which contains a small notice.

Quote:
TNA and PWA have agreed to work together for the better for pro wrestling. TNA will therefor become the Parent Company to PWA meaning, in effect, TNA will send talent to PWA until they are ready to appear on global television. Both sides benefit and both sides are looking forward to a long relationship.
Several name's that are under contract to TNA have been added to the PWA roster page. They include Rob Terry, Brutus Magnus, Cody Deaner, Rhaka Khan and Sojourner Bolt. Some of the World X Cup participants have also been added fueling speculation that they have been signed to contracts but wont be used outside of the World X Cup just yet. Those names are Sonjay Dutt, Petey Williams and Johnny Devine. We expect more names to follow in the next few days.

June 25th 2009

We open iMPACT! this week backstage in the TNA Locker-rooms where Christopher Daniels and AJ Styles are in the middle of an argument with Samoa Joe. Styles and Daniels maintain that the three had a game plan going into Slammiversary but Joe turned on them the first chance he got. The game plan seems to have been to take out Booker and Sting then fight it out between the three of them to determine the rightful TNA World Champion. Joe doesn’t seem at all interested in the game plan and simply tells both Styles and Daniels that it was every man for himself and he doesn’t owe anyone an apology. Joe makes it clear that his focus is Sting and the TNA World Championship.

Traci Brooks is in her office with Lauren and her two enforcers that debuted at Slammiversary. Traci introduces us to Millita and Del Rey, her insurance policies.

Millita
vs.

To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

Madison Rayne

Millita got off to an impressive start in TNA when she dominated Madison Rayne for the entire match. Rayne got little offence in and even that didn’t seem to faze the unstoppable Millita. Millita finished Rayne off with three consecutive Curb Stomps despite Rayne being out after the first.

Result: Millita via Pinfall.

Millita is joined in the ring by Del Rey after the bell and both decide to inflict some more pain on Madison Rayne. Del Rey hit’s a double under-hook Piledriver at the exact same time that Millita hit’s a spinning kick to the exposed ribs of Rayne.

Backstage we find The TNA World Tag Team Champions Beer Money Inc standing by with Jeremy Borash. Roode keeps it short and sweet. They are both sick and tired of being undervalued by TNA management to the point where they have not even been booked on the show. Roode announces an open challenge for Victory Road with the TNA World Tag Team Championships on the line.

Consequences Creed
vs.

To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

Suicide

Creed worked a much slower and more vicious match tonight as he focused on the knees of Suicide. Creed tried to pick apart the right knee but Suicide refused and fought back. Creed ended the comeback with a quick TKO but his cockiness allowed Suicide to kick out at two. Suicide again came back and this time was able to connect with the Suicide Solution for the three count.

Result: Suicide via Pinfall.

We quickly go backstage where Awesome Kong and Raisha Saeed have ambushed ODB as she arrived at the arena. Sojourner Bolt tries to make the ill advised save and ends up taking a worse beating than ODB. Kong easily overpowered Bolt and hit an Implant Buster on the concrete to leave Bolt motionless. ODB got off relatively easy compared to that as she received a Choke Slam through the catering table.

Back in the ring and Doug Williams appears to have found himself a new partner in the form of Nigel McGuinness. Williams confirms it for us when he announces the formation of the Great British Alliance. Williams goes on to say that they will accept the open challenge from Beer Money earlier tonight for a match at Victory Road.

No Limit

McGuinness and Williams looked as if they had been teaming together for years as they deployed some perfect tag team wrestling that saw Yujiro isolated in their corner for much of the match. Yujiro finally escaped the beating and got the tag to Naito who came in on fire. Unfortunately for No Limit, that fire was quickly put out thanks to a Jaw Breaker Lariat from Nigel McGuinness to allow Williams to pick up the pinfall victory.

Result: The Great British Alliance via Pinfall.

Williams and McGuinness celebrate in the ring with the British flag before we go backstage where Lauren is in a rush with the cameraman to catch something. As they round a corner we can hear two individuals having a rather loud argument. As we get closer we identity the much louder voice as being Sharmell but we don’t figure out the second voice until Lauren reaches the scene. Sharmell is in the middle of a shouting match with James Mitchell. Several members of the TNA crew try to pull them apart but it only prompts them to shout louder. Finally Sharmell is dragged away and Lauren approaches James Mitchell to enquire about the argument. Mitchell blames it on that time of month for Sharmell.

Next we are shown a pre-recorded interview done by Mike Tenay with Kevin Nash. Nash briefly talks about Matt Morgan and how he tried to help him but he didn’t seem interested in listening. Nash then switches the focus to Kurt Angle. Nash apologizes to Angle for losing the match last week that allowed Jarrett to name a Loser Leaves Town match as the stipulation for Slammiversary. Nash says he is going to make it up to Angle over the next few weeks and then he will do everything he can to get Angle reinstated in TNA.

Scott Steiner w/ Booker T & Sharmell
vs.

To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

Abyss w/ James Mitchell

Two of TNA’s biggest and baddest collided in the main event this week which resulted in an incredibly hard hitting affair. Steiner got his nose busted open early on when Abyss connected with a Big Boot. Steiner tried to return the favour with a lead pipe but Abyss grabbed the arm of Steiner in mid swing to prevent it. Steiner pushed with all his strength but Abyss held firm and kneed Steiner in the ribs before hitting some Shock Treatment. Booker T made his presence felt by climbing onto the ring apron and getting punched back down with one right hand by Abyss. Abyss turned his attention back to Steiner but received a low blow for his lack of focus. Steiner hit the Steiner Flat liner but Abyss kicked out at two. Steiner went for the lead pipe again but this time Abyss wasn’t in any mood to play around as he hit a vicious Black Hole Slam for the three count.

Result: Abyss via Pinfall.

As soon as Abyss gets back to his feet Booker T is on hand with Steiner’s lead pipe. Booker cracks the pipe across the back of the head of Abyss to bring the monster to his knees. Booker takes aim and hit’s a second sickening shot to the skull of Abyss to put him the rest of the way down. Booker pulls Steiner back to his feet but both men soon head for higher ground as a pissed off Abyss slowly starts to get back up much to the disbelief of the Mafia members to end the show.

Doi & Yoshino

Speed Muscle used their tagging experience to their advantage tonight over first time team mates Cody Deaner and Johnny Devine. Deaner and Devine had some luck when they targeted the legs of the much faster opponents but it merely slowed them down instead of stopping them. Doi and Yoshino rallied before Yoshino got the victory when he locked Deaner in the Sol Naciente for the submission victory.

Result: Team Japan gain two points via Submission.

Sheik Abdul Bashir & Chase Stevens

Bashir acted as the leader for this match and decided that they should work over Sonjay Dutt instead of Mistico whom had recently finished as the runner up in the TNA Super X Cup. Bashir locked Dutt in the Camel Clutch but Dutt showed his resilience by refusing to tap out and eventually crawling to the bottom rope for the rope break. Bashir protested to the official which gave Dutt enough time to dive and tag in Mistico. Mistico dominated before Chase Stevens used a thumb to the eye to set up for a Super kick. Mistico stumbled back to Bashir who hit the W.M.D. for the three count.

Result: Team TNA gain two points via Pinfall.

Current World X Cup Standings:
Team Japan 2 Points
Team TNA 2 Points
Team Canada 0 Points

World X Cup looks pretty good so far. Beer Money/Alliance for Victory Road should be good. Keep up the good work!

Nigel McGuinness w/ Doug Williams
vs.

To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

James Storm w/ Robert Roode

Storm focused his early offence on the shoulders of McGuinness and it seemed to be working well as McGuinness was noticeably in pain. Williams needed to get himself involved to allow his team mate to get back into the match. Williams jumped onto the ring apron which prompted Storm to punch him back down. Williams and Roode soon started exchanging right hands on the outside with neither man gaining a clear advantage. McGuinness took control in the ring as the brawl continued on the outside. McGuinness positioned himself for a Jaw Breaker lariat, but Roode tripped him as he went off the ropes. Storm followed up with the Last Call for the three count.

Result: James Storm via Pinfall.

Having picked up the win, Storm was quickly out of the ring to aid Roode in his battle with Williams. When Williams seen Storm coming, he headed for higher ground.

Backstage the Motor City Machine Guns are standing by with Jeremy Borash. Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin are both wearing their IWGP Jr. Tag Team Championship belts and admit that they have become a little preoccupied in recent months. Sabin says they let singles titles come between what they do best, tag team wrestling. Sabin says that they are putting the X-Division on hold as they refocus their efforts on becoming the TNA World Tag Team Champions. Team 3D come onto the interview set but are held back by security guards. Brother Ray shouts that the Machine Guns will regret costing them the titles at Slammiversary. Alex Shelley says he didn’t do anything to cost anyone anything.

As the security tries to keep the four men apart, we go to Lauren who is walking with Consequences Creed. Lauren keeps asking where they are going but Creed refuses to answer. Soon enough we see for ourselves as he bursts into a locker-room and confronts Jay Lethal. Creed demands to know why Lethal wasn’t at ringside last week to help him out. Lethal says that he told Creed before, he wont resort to cheating. Creed slaps Lethal and tells him it isn’t about morals, it’s about winning. Lethal keeps his cool and tells Creed he should leave.

To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

Rhino

Kevin Nash set out to make it up to Kurt Angle tonight, if his intention was to make Angle feel better, it didn’t work as Nash completely dominated Rhino from bell to bell and got the decisive victory with a Jacknife Power bomb. Had he done that a few weeks ago, Kurt Angle may still be employed.

Result: Kevin Nash via Pinfall.

Backstage in what looks to be the basement we find James Mitchell. Mitchell rips into Booker T and Sharmell and tells them that last week, Booker committed a grave mistake. Last week, Booker T pissed off the monster. Mitchell says he has had to keep Abyss away from the arena tonight so that he didn’t go into business for himself. Mitchell goes on to say that he cant keep Abyss away forever, and sooner, rather than later, the monster will be coming for Booker’s blood.

Del Rey w/ Millita
vs.

To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

The Governor w/ Taylor Wilde & Sarah Stock

The Governor has shown us a lot of fight since coming to TNA, unfortunately for her, it didn’t do her any good tonight as Del Rey made her look like a rag doll. Del Rey hit a Butterfly Backbreaker early on and the Governor never recovered from it. Del Rey had the match in hand and could have ended it at any time but instead decided to keep beating her helpless opponent. Del Rey went on to his an amazing seven Butterfly Suplex’s in a row before Andrew Thomas called for the bell and declared Del Rey the winner.

Result: Del Rey via Referee Stoppage.

Even that wasn’t enough for Traci Brooks’ new enforcer as she looked to hit more damage after the match. Taylor Wilde and Sarah Stock quickly entered the ring to save The Governor but Millita was on hand to back up Del Rey. The four knockouts battled hard until the EMT’s were able to get The Governor out of the ring and to safety. As soon as the Governor was clear, both Taylor and Stock retreated to fight another day.

Backstage Jimmy Rave is standing by with Lauren. Rave claims its an outrage that he doesn’t get an automatic rematch like everyone else in TNA does. Rave wonders what he did to get on the bad side of management before returning to the complaining. This time about having to face Jay Lethal next week in a number one contenders match. Rave again argues that he should automatically have a rematch for Hard Justice.

Raisha Saeed w/ Awesome Kong
vs.

To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

Roxxi

Roxxi controlled much of the match but with Kong at ringside, it was never going to be a one on one match and thus it was no surprise that as soon as Saeed got Roxxi out of the ring, Kong was waiting for her. Kong charged full force and rammed Roxxi spine first into the ring post twice before sending her back first into the steel steps. Kong pulled the hurting Roxxi back to her feet before hitting a scoop slam an the outside. Kong deposited Roxxi back into the ring to allow Saeed to lock in a Camel Clutch and force the submission victory.

Result: Raisha Saeed via Submission.

Even after the bell Saeed refused to release the Camel Clutch and only pulled back harder as Kong prevent anyone from getting into the ring to break it up. Roxxi eventually stops fighting and passes out. Some good news for Roxxi was Saeed letting go. Bad news for Roxxi was Kong wanted a turn. Kong pulled Roxxi to her feet and hit an Implant Buster followed by an Awesome Bomb before making a title belt motion. We think Hemme gets the message.

The TNA World Champion Sting comes to the ring next with his title belt still hanging from his left shoulder. Sting firstly apologizes for not being at iMPACT! last week before explaining that he had more important stuff to do than to become a walking target for Samoa Joe. Sting says he expected Joe to be coming for him and thus has taken some advanced actions. Sting says he spent last week sitting at home, wondering how to stop a Samoan Machine, then it came to him, a Samoan Savage. Sting gives Joe a warning that should Joe try to get his hands on Sting from next week onwards, he will call in the reinforcements, and it wont be pretty.

Tanahashi

Tanahashi and Homicide traded the upper hand for the entire match with neither man able to gain a clear advantage. Homicide eventually got some momentum going which led to a Gringo Killa attempt but Tanahashi slipped out and hit a Kinkasan Suplex for a long two count. Tanahashi didn’t let up as he went to the top rope for a Frog Splash but missed. Homicide hit the Gringo Cutter but Tanahashi somehow kicked out at two. Homicide positioned himself for a second Gringo Cutter but Tanahashi saw it coming and almost got the three with an Inside Cradle. Tanahashi hit a standing enzugiri before hitting a German Suplex with a bridge but Homicide again kicked out at two. Tanahashi couldn’t believe that Homicide was still in it and went for a cloverleaf that has served him well thus far in TNA. Homicide fought out of it and hit a quick Gringo Cutter but opted not to make the pin. Homicide instead pulled Tanahashi to his feet and hit the Gringo Killa to make sure Tanahashi didn’t kick out.

Result: Homicide retains via Pinfall.

After the match Homicide stands tall with his title belt over his shoulder. Tanahashi slowly gets back to his feet before offering a handshake. Homicide accepts it. Tanahashi is then handed his IWGP World title and both men stand side by side holding the belts in the air to end the show.

Re: TNA: Under new Management

Good edition of Impact. Hopefully you do make MCMG World Tag Team Champions eventually, good little segment with them. While I like Hiroshi Tanahashi, good you didn't put the X-Division belt on him, good to keep Homicide with the belt. Hopefully his opponent for Victory Road is Jay Lethal and not Jimmy Rave. Victory Road is looking good so far, with the two matches that have been announced, but keep up the good work!
