Random thought of the day… change for the sake of change is supposed to be a bad thing, but can it really be a bad thing if its an improvement?
The meeting was in the conference room of the Hilton, a nice but bland location. I arrived late and pretty much everyone was there. All the normal faces I see at meetings and a few rare ones. Louis Williams, a former manager for the SWF, is the Head of Production and only rarely attends meetings with creative. Colin Kennedy is a former SWF wrestler and now heads up the Production Design department, so I've had even less dealings with him than with Williams. Both men had several people for their respective departments at the meeting. The big table was full, with the center of the table containing a couple of large covered objects.
One person was missing - Richard Eisen - and that made the whole proceedings feel awkward to me. A major meeting without the Supreme Supremo just didn't feel like a major meeting, regardless of who else was there. Especially since The Supreme Challenge was the next day.
Eisen was missing by choice, however. It wasn't even a timing conflict - he just didn't want to attend. The CEO has a well-earned reputation for micro-managing when it comes to his promotion, but he's actually never been overbearing since I've been here. He is always involved but often in a bit more of a laid-back manner. I'm told this is something that has changed notably over the past few years. Many people feel this change is Papa Eisen setting up the company for when he finally does retire, and maybe they are correct. This is a meeting that Eisen chose not to attend because, in his words, he wants this to be a surprise. The boss wants to see this all for the first time the same way the fans will.
Jerry got the meeting going. "No big speech," he laughed. "Just wanna thank everyone who's put in such hard work on this over the past few months. That won't be forgotten. And to remind everyone just how important these aspects are to the Supreme Wrestling Federation."
About five months ago, Richard Eisen had decided that it was time to change up the "feel" of the Supreme Wrestling Federation a bit. Changing up the production set - the ramp, announcers booth, Supreme Screen, all of that - might not seem like a big deal. But even relatively minor changes like how wrestlers enter or the camera locations can change what the fans see, even if they don't always realize what has changed.
Louis Williams took over the meeting at that point. His production team had worked very closely with the Production Design crew over the past few months to bring things to fruition. Williams spent some time in the mid-90s as a manager in the SWF and he could talk. Enjoyed talking, too. He talked for awhile, giving what amounted to a speech. He had notes and everything.
The aim was to keep the Supreme Wrestling Federation on the cutting edge, both in terms of the broadcast and the presentation. The design had come primarily from the Production department and the Production Design sub-department. Creative had input, which mainly came from Peter Michaels and Jerry. They had even worked with the video game studio that produces the SWF Supreme Challenge video game series. They even wanted to make sure new setup would look good in video games.I knew all of this already, so it was tough to not be bored.
Richard Eisen was many things, some true and some not. Ruthless businessman. Innovator. Risk-taker. Opportunist. Technocrat. Wait, technocrat? Its not something that many fans realize, but the Supreme Wrestling Federation has always been on the cutting-edge in terms of new technology. The promotion was quick to get onto the bandwagons of new technologies like High Definition Television, DVD, Blu-Ray DVD, and even the giant screens in the arenas. Pyrotechnics, lasers, and smoke was all used by the SWF before any other wrestling promotion, at least in North America. To hear Eisen tell it, all that kind of stuff is just part of the spectacle.
The spectacle. That's really the essence of what makes Sports Entertainment. Many people will tell you its how you present the product, that the matches are less intense and there is more focus on the storylines, more angles. That's all part of it. But what it really comes down to is the spectacle. Making the presentation of the show all as important as the actual matches. That was the innovate idea that Richard Eisen way back in 1971. Eisen wanted to make his promotion less like a legitimate sporting event and more like a rock concert. Where its about the entire experience for the fan, not just the matches they see. Ironically, most professional sports have since gone that way as well, trying to spice up the entire event for both fans in attendance and the broadcast viewers. Back when the SWF first got on TV, wrestling broadcasts were painfully basic - usually one or maybe two static cameras filming the action, and commentary over it. From the first episode of SWF Supreme TV, Eisen offered something different. It was the superior presentation - editing between multiple mobile cameras, dramatic presentations, angles that brought the crowd into play - that made the SWF stand out immediately and party of why the SWF managed to get their show on across America.
Its tough to stay ahead of the competition... when there is competition, of course. But even when you find a formula that works, you cannot simply stick to that forever, because others will copy it and eventually someone will do it better. So things have to evolve. There was nothing wrong with the current set-up, but things had to evolve.
I realized that Colin Kennedy had taken over, giving a lengthy and dull explanation of what had been taken into account with the design of the new stage and ramp. I knew most of this, but not all. There were actually two versions - a larger version for pay per view events, when a larger stadium would be used, and a standard version for television events that were typically in normal venues. Both sets were modular, so they could be adapted to particular spaces. They also included modular designs for the pyrotechnic and smoke inserts. Nice design.
After Kennedy's explanation, Williams took over the discussion again. He explained a bit more, then made a bit of a show as he pulled the covers off the items in the center of the table. They were scale replica models of the new stage. Impressive.
Williams gave us all a "walking tour" of the models. The biggest change from the current stage and ramp setup was size. The new stage was wider and taller. Both versions included trapdoors, so that elevators could be added for "rising up" entrances. The primary backdrop for the stage was a giant Supreme Screen flanked by a series of smaller screens and lights that could all rotate. That design was modular as well, so it could be adapted in any number of ways. The centerpiece of the new design was a pair of inlaid SWF logos, one at the foot of the ramp and one in the middle of the stage. They were stainless steel and backlit, Williams explained. The announcers booth, which always at ringside now, had a new similar design, with a special "collapsing design" taken into account.
"The stage and the ramp shape... it kinda of looks familiar," Jerry Eisen commented.
"ALPHA-1," I answered immediately and almost without thinking. That is a habit I really need to break.
"Correct," Kennedy smiled. He didn't explain further, but he didn't need. ALPHA-1 was the worlds biggest mixed martial arts promotion, though still lacking in popularity in North America. The promotion used a similar stage and ramp set up, though larger. ALPHA-1 was well known to the SWF mainly due to their epic production values and grandiose set designs that changed often. Though obviously not direct competition to Supreme, the MMA organization was the closest thing as a rival in terms of production and spectacle. INSPIRE attempted to provide a presentation similar to the MMA-based promotion and it simply didn't work as well.
Everyone had questions about it. From what the surface was to how heavy it would be. Legitimate questions, but I just didn't care. I didn't want to be in the meeting by this point.
Williams then spent some time explaining the other production changes that the pay per view would use. No major changes, but rather refinements. A series of high speed digital cameras were being arranged in a circle around the upper level of the arena, to capture ultra-high definition replays of significant spots. There were other things, such as some new programs for editing and such. I lost interest again as they went through this. Many of the changes would affect the TV broadcast as well, and there was going to be an effort to differentiate the "texture" of the two main shows.
I understood why creative needed to know all of this, but most of it had little effect. We did few spots out on the ramp, beyond people on the ramp using a microphone to interact with someone in the ring. Wrestling-based spots rarely occurred out there. This would not change anything we were booking in the near future.
Seeming to enjoy the spotlight of having a good-sized meeting revolve around their departments, Kennedy and Williams refused to relinquish that spotlight. They spent awhile talking about planned future changes, which could include adjustments to the actual broadcast presentation. Most likely graphical changes and stuff. Again, really not interesting to me.
I broke down and opened my laptop. I wasn't the only one, though everyone was managing to maintain the appearance they were still paying attention. I checked my email. A bunch of new ones, as always. I looked at the newest one from Richad, which was a lengthy one. The latest response to the series of emails we had been exchanging about the "ideas" list I had submitted about potential signings. I won't say that I half-assed what I submitted, but I didn't think it was my best work. Eisen has taken to a few of the ideas and wants to run with them. To the point where the promotion is negotiating with some guys we wouldn't otherwise be looking at.
As I'm reading the email from Eisen, another email from another Eisen catches my eye. Amanda. I can't help but read it. After I do, I nearly yelp with joy. Its a brief email, suggesting we meet for coffee on the weekend, maybe to discuss Henry Miller further. It takes a mighty effort to keep from responding right there. At the very least, I had to be wearing a big stupid grin.
Amanda emailed me about a few days ago, just a 'hey, how's it going' thing. Completely out of the blue, as I haven't seen her or talked to her since I visited the Eisen house a couple weeks back. Not even sure where she got my email from. We exchanged a couple emails since, just fun and flirty. I was definitely interested in the girl, but I also wasn't going to ask out my bosses daughter. I'm definitely saying yes to hanging out, but what happens if it goes beyond that? Is this something that I should pursue? There are so many ways this could turn out badly...
Unfortunately, the meeting still hasn't ended. Jerry Eisen, Peter Michaels, and Phil Vibert are all starting to look impatient. We still had a show to run tonight, plus that huge annual pay per view event tomorrow. Some heavy-handed glances from Jerry seemed to get the point across.
As the meeting broke up, I realized that I wouldn't find the time to email Amanda back until sometime tonight. That bothered me for some reason. Its been awhile since I've been interested in a girl like that. Just been too busy, really. Plus I haven't met anyone who interested me to that extent, beyond mere physical attraction. Why was I worrying about this instead of focusing on the SWF Legends tonight and The Supreme Challenge 28 tomorrow night? I couldn't afford distraction and this was just that.
Christian Faith told me that I was now part of the Supreme Wrestling Federation family. And by extension, I guess, part of the Eisen family. Just how far did I want to run with that?

Preview for podcast available Wednesday, Week 2, July 2008
"Its so close now! The Supreme Challenge 28 is tomorrow. Which means that you cannot miss SWF Legends tonight!"
"Expect some fallout from last night's SWF Supreme TV. In case anyone missed it, Richard Eisen announced that he wouldn't select the final participant for the Supreme Double Jeopardy™ until the actual event. Only those who win their match earlier in the night will get consideration. This decision has a lot of people talking. Especially since it means whoever will face Jack Bruce in the second leg - or Vengeance - will also be wrestling their second match of the night."
"Will the decision by Richard Eisen affect the decision tomorrow night for Phil Vibert? The plan is for Vibert to announce Christian Faith's opponent for the SWF Supreme Championship. With the shot at the SWF World Heavyweight championship now up in the air, expect more wrestlers to be lobbying hard for that chance to face Faith. I have plenty to say on this."
"An interesting match lined up for tomorrow night is Chris Caufield defending his SWF Legends championship against Enforcer Roberts. The veteran Robert is, of course, part of the Supreme brand. I'm told he would join the Legends brand if he is successful in taking the belt from Caufield. Some fans have questioned this, feeling that the brands should be set. This is something I'll discuss."
"An intriguing pair of matches will headline tonight's show. Rocky Golden will face Steve Frehley's constant companion, Ray Diaz. While the Golden Boy will be favored in this match, its a big chance for Diaz to make an impact in Supreme. The same goes for Bloodstone, who faces Frehley. Last week, Bloodstone surprised many last week as he took a win over legend Eric Tyler. Will he get a massive win over Frehley before he faces Caufield at The Supreme Challenge 28? These are an intriguing some couple of matches."
"Word in the locker room on SWF Supreme TV is that both Ace Newton and Robbie Retro are none-too-pleased that both have been left off The Supreme Challenge. Considering that both are making claims that they are the faces of Generation Supreme, that has to hurt. Not helping matters is that veteran John McClean reportedly complained to Richard Eisen about not being part of the extravaganza, after expected tag team partner Joe Sexy was put in a match against Angry Gilmore. McClean was subsequently made part of the match between Chris Morrisette and Troy Tornado, making it a Threefold Threat™ match."
"The other belt not being defended at The Supreme Challenge 28 is the SWF Shooting Star championship. That's sure to have BJ O'Neill and the Samoan contingent less than happy."
"Though its barely a day away now, there is still plenty to fall into place for The Supreme Challenge 28. Don't miss SWF Legends tonight on CBA!"
The Fry Report will be available on SWF.com or directly from iTunes.

The show once again starts with The Golden Faction making an appearance. The fans seem none too happy, giving the stable plenty of heat. Once they're in the ring, Golden takes the microphone as he always does.
Rocky Golden: I'm not out here tonight to tell you anything you don't already know, but it needs to be said... If Phil Vibert doesn't select me to face Christian Faith, he's making a big mistake.
The crowd tells Golden how they feel about this. Loudly.
Rocky Golden: No, make that a huge mistake. Not that Vibert is above making huge mistakes. I mean, he did manage to run his own promotion into dust. That's pretty impressive. But I'm counting on him making the right choice for once. And picking me. Kristen Pearce: Don't make more mistakes, Phil. Rocky Golden: If you want someone a promotion can be proud of... no one will make you more proud than The Golden Boy. Kristen Pearce: This is not the only thing we came out here to say. Rocky Golden: That's right... I'm not the only member of The Faction who will be climbing into the ring tomorrow night. And I just want to remind those members that failure will not be tolerated...
Golden takes a moment as he points at Bloodstone, then Troy Tornado. Both nod knowingly.
Rocky Golden: Bloodstone... Troy... Being part of this stable is something special and you both know it. So I expect you to represent The Golden Faction will pride tomorrow night... and with victory... Bloodstone: I'll get the Legends belt, just like you told me to. Troy Tornado: The Lobster is done. Rocky Golden: Good. Now, I'd tell the same thing to you, Pete, but you somehow managed to not even get in a match tomorrow night. Can't fail if you don't participate, hey?
Texas Pete just shrugs.
Rocky Golden: I said last week that we would start to make our presence felt, and we did. Now we're going to prove just why we're golden by winning some gold...
Grade: A
Phil Vibert: Well, that hardly convinced me.

Two veterans put in a very solid match as both try to prove they are still relevant. The match switches between styles, as Tyler attempts to use a series of holds on the bigger man, while Train overpowers Tyler and works at brawling. Tyler is no stranger to a good brawl, however, and that gives him an advantage. After wearing Runaway Train down a bit, Tyler manages to get him in his Tradition Lift double chicken wing and gets the submission win.
Eric Tyler Wins at 11:04 via Submission

The two tag teams engage in a very entertaining brawl, moving in and out of the ring. The experience of the Black Label duo helps them a bit, but Tornado and Pete prove too much. The duo doesn't even need to cheat. Pete nails Blood Elderberry with a Lone Star Bomb powerbomb and then gets the pinfall.
Texas Pete Wins at 7:13 via Pinfall

A relatively easy win for Enygma over the pair of cruiserweights. They have the former world champion chasing a bit, but Enygma slows them down with a few heavy blows, using his size advantage. American Elemental submits to the Enygma Variation after El Leon is tossed from the ring and can't back in to prevent it.

Enygma + Grandmaster Bling
After the match, Engyma is making his way up the ramp. He stops and stares at a familiar looking figure in a huge hat. The two stare at each other for a moment. There is a bit of tension there. Enygma leans in, and the figure whispers something to the masked grapplier. Enygma nods and the man clips him on the shoulder, before Enygma continues into the back.

The two cruiserweights put on an entertaining battle, showing off their aerial skills with several fun spots. The match doesn't have a great flow, but its also not quite a spotfest. Toma gets the expected win after hitting a Long Range Headbutt from the top rope.

From the start of the match, Eisen doesn't seem to take his opponent serious. Its understandable, given the ridiculous retro outfit that Biggz is wearing. But Biggz is there for a match, and he takes it to The Chosen One. After surprising Eisen, Biggz gets a pair of near falls but his opponent battles back. Both men get their share of offense, but a trip from Runaway Train gives Eisen the advantage. He maintains that until he puts Biggz away with a Silver Spoon Shock neckbreaker.

Eric Eisen, Runaway Train + Brett Biggz
After the match, Runaway Train climbs into the ring. He and Eisen proceed to begin to beat down the Biggz brother. They put the boots to the prone wrestler, seemingly without reason. It only takes a few moments before...

Bart Biggz
Bart Biggz comes racing down the ramp to a significant pop. He jumps onto the apron, grabs the rope, and launches himself into an impressive leapfrog that takes him halfway across the ring into Train. He quick gets up and chases Eisen out of the ring.
Outside the ring, staring at Bart, Eisen grabs a microphone
Eric Eisen: Bart, that's gonna be you tomorrow night.

Steve Frehley
Backstage Segment
Steve Frehley and Ray Diaz are on the backstage interview set, but without any interviewer. Frehley looks angry, while Diaz looks just as intense as he always does.
Steve Frehley: I'm tired of people running their mouths. I don't care if its other wrestlers, fans, announcers... Everyone. Anyone can talk. Few can do. Its about being able to get it done. That's all that matters. And that's why I'm facing Rocky Golden at The Supreme Challenge. Not because he's worthy of facing a former world champion. But because he isn't. So I can show all the other out there who think they can try to talk their way to the top, who think they can come in here to the Supreme Wrestling Federation and jump to the top. You have to earn it, Golden. You start tonight. Ray Diaz: I'm gonna hurt you, Golden. Steve Frehley: That's right, Ray. And I'm taking down this Bloodstone. Man, I don't care what you did in Canada. That don't count for sh*t here in the big leagues. And tomorrow night, Golden Child, I'm taking you down. Then I'm gonna get me a shot at the SWF World Heavyweight championship. That's just the way it is. Ray Diaz: Golden, you called the tune... Steve Frehley: Now its time to pay the piper.
The duos talk off the set, leaving an empty set for a moment before the camera cuts.

Another entertaining match. Caufield tries to keep the match as a brawl, while Roberts transitions between brawling and technical grappling. Both men get near pinfalls, before a quick throat punch slows the champion down. Roberts takes control and looks like he might get the victory, but Caufield keeps battling. He surprises Roberts with a Hardcore American Clothesline, following it up with Danger Drop reverse DDT. That allows Caufield to get the pin and take the win.
Chris Caufield Wins at 10:04 via Pinfall

Christian Faith + Ana Garcia
In-Ring Interview

The reaction from the crowd is intense, as they clearly love Faith. It takes awhile for things to die down a bit before Ana Garcia can even attempt to begin the interview. Just as it starts to die down, Faith jumps up onto ropes to give his trademark prayer gesture, which gets the crowd roaring again.
Ana Garcia: Great to talk to you again, Christian. Christian Faith: Thanks Ana. Its great to be out here in front of all these fans. Ana Garcia: Now we're only a day away from The Supreme Challenge 28, and just a short while away from finding out who you're opponent will be there. Has it been difficult preparing for a match of this caliber without knowing who your opponent will be? Christian Faith: It won't matter who my opponent is. Faith is the same regardless who stands across the ring. Ana Garcia: Do you have a preference? Perhaps an opponent you've faced before like Eric Eisen? Christian Faith: Familiar or unfamiliar, it won't matter much, Ana. Because the better man will win. And I'm going to be that better man. Ana Garcia: What if you have to face your former friend, Frehley?
Christian Faith: I don't consider him a former friend, Ana. Steve is just misunderstood. But if I have to face him, I'll face him. And I'll win. Because I. Have. Faith!
The crowd roars. Faith mugs. Ana smiles. The interview ends.
Grade: A*
Duane Fry: A big match next. This should be a barn-stormer! Melanie Florence: I don't even know what that means, love, but you say it with passion!

An intense battle of wills, as the two big men batter away at each other. Neither backs down. The match is a series of heavy-handed power moves. Both men end up working a bit stiff, as Golden tires to match the intensity of Diaz. It takes some indirect interference on the part of Kristen Pearce for Golden to really take advantage. He hangs onto that advantage, but fails to get Diaz into The Rack. In the end, a daring top rope elbow drop from Golden allows him to get the pinfall.
Rocky Golden Wins at 12:04 via Pinfall
Grade: B
Duane Fry: Another huge match up next. Phil Vibert: Technical excellence against outright power.

Another solid match that the fans quite enjoy. Bloodstone finds himself overpowered and overwhelmed several times, but displays the skill to find a way out. He slows the match down with a series of holds, and works over Frehley's right shoulder, using a combination of holds and strikes on it. As he always does, Frehley powers back. He gets a near fall on Bloodstone, but the technician is a battler too. They continue their war. The Golden Faction soon shows up at ringside, providing a bit of a distraction. Diaz shows up for Frehley, but he's outnumbered. Nothing happens until Frehley nails Bloodstone with a Dark Destroyer Spear that takes both men through the ropes and onto the floor. Golden ends up getting involved with Frehley, causing Diaz to get involved as well. The ref calls for the bell and Darren Smith awards the match to Frehley, as he was attacked first on the outside. Officials quickly get the men apart.
Steve Frehley Wins at 13:14 via Disqualification
Grade: B
Phil Vibert: That's my cue.

Phil Vibert, Christian Faith, Emma Chase, Rich Money, Remo, Brandon James, Vengeance, Rocky Golden, Eric Eisen, Runaway Train, Steve Frehley, + Eric Tyler
In-Ring Segment
The ring is filled with people, all wanting to hear Vibert's announcement. its obvious that Frehley and Golden are trying to keep away from each other, and everyone is giving Vengeance plenty of space. Vibert grabs a microphone.
Phil Vibert: I brought everyone out here for an obvious reason - to announce who will face Christian Faith for the SWF Supreme Championship at The Supreme Challenge 28 tomorrow night. Now, I could play this like The Genius Mr. Eisen did and gather everyone together here only to pull a bit of a switch. You know, once prove to everyone that I'm in charge by changing the rules. Again. But that isn't my style.
This elicits a reaction from the crowd. Vibert let's it die down, then points at the group assembled in the ring.
Phil Vibert: Those of you out here, I asked because you were the final group I took into consideration to face Faith tomorrow night. I gave consideration to everyone who came to talk to me about it, and even some who didn't. No one was overlooked. Making this choice was difficult. Let me make that clear. This was a difficult decision that required a lot of factors to be taken into account. From the quality of the championship match with Faith to how the person who do as the champion and what they would add to this brand. To the Supreme Wrestling Federation as a whole. Because a champion is no smaller matter. It means representing the Federation and everything that this company stands for. That was why Christian Faith was an easy choice and his opponent was a difficult choice.
Vibert allows those words to hang before he continues.
Phil Vibert: My final choice was... not quite who I expected it to be. I ended up accepting an offer last night that I simply couldn't refuse. But I'll leave the explanation to the person who made that offer.
Vibert dramatically hands the microphone to... Emma Chase...
Emma Chase: That's right, the wheeler and dealer of the Supreme Wrestling Federation got it done. The true powerbroker of this Federation. And the man to face Christian Faith is going to be my client...
Emma leaves a dramatic pause. Rich Money starts to step forward, smiling.
Emma Chase: Brandon James.
The ring is an uproar as everyone protests. Everyone except James. Which might be because he is unaware of what is going on.
Rich Money: What the hell? What the hell?
It takes a minute to calm things down.
Phil Vibert: Now, its only fair to make public to the offer that Emma made. Emma Chase: In exchange for Brandon facing Faith tomorrow night, both Brandon and I will join the SWF Legends brand, win or lose.
This causes another uproar. Rich Money grabs the microphone away from Phil Vibert.
Rich Money: You owe me an explanation, Emma. Right now! Emma Chase: I don't like being ordered around, Rich. But fine. You want an explanation... Its simple. Brandon is my client. You aren't. Rich Money: So all that time you said you were trying to get a deal in place for me? Emma Chase: I was trying to get a deal in place for my client. Look, I offered you a chance to sign a deal with me. To allow me to properly represent you and Remo. You both chose not to. You said you didn't really need a manager. So you aren't my clients. I represented the client I do have. Rich Money: And Big Money Incorporated...? Emma Chase: Was never more than a business arrangement. We were never family. Besides, Brandon was the only out of you who was really "money". Rich Money: D*mn you, woman! And us...? Emma Chase: There was never any us, Rich. That was just a bit of fun. You really didn't think it was anything more than that did you? Rich Money: What? No, of course not. But I'll make you regret this. You can bank on it.
Money points at Emma and then Brandon, and then back at Emma. He drops the microphone and rolls out of the ring, backing slowly up the ramp. Remo follows.
Phil Vibert: So tomorrow night, Christian Faith and Brandon James will battle at the Supreme Challenge 28 to crown the first ever SWF Supreme Champion.
There are a lot of unhappy looks on the faces of those in the ring. Eric Tyler suddenly steps forward, grabbing a microphone from Emma. Brandon starts to move forward, as if to attack Tyler, but Emma waves him off.
Eric Tyler: What about me, Phil? Did you forget about me again? Phil Vibert: I never forgot about you, Eric. Ever. I just hadn't got to that yet. I know you were scheduled to face James, but plans change. Now, I've never liked this Supreme Double Jeopardy plan of The Genius Mr. Eisen's. I definitely don't like him putting DeBones in the first match to try to hurt Bruce for the second match, so he can put whoever he wants in there to try to take that title. Jack Bruce should get the chance that every other champion gets, a legitimate chance to defend his belt. Now, I don't have the authority to change the rules of the match. But I apparently do have the authority to add someone to that match. So I'm adding you, Eric. To make sure that Jack Bruce gets a fair chance to defend his belt in in the Double Jeopardy.
Tyler doesn't look particularly pleased at this, but he simply nods, accepting it.
Christian Faith: I hope you're ready for tomorrow night, James. Because I'm going to show you what an old man can do.
"Big Money" James lets out one of his infamous roars and gets up into the face of Faith. The two men stare each other down until they are pulled apart.
Grade: A*/A
Duane Fry: Does that mean we've seen the end of Big Money Incorporated? Melanie Florence: Or the start of a brand new one...

Thursday, Week 2, July 2008
It's here. The one event that every wrestling fan in the world cannot miss. Every year, it is the biggest spectacle the entire sport of professional wrestling has to offer. And this year is no different.
Will Randy Bumfhole start on his path to immortality? Or will "Hard Cash" Rich Money prove to be too much? Fresh off a humiliating SWF Legends, Money is sure to be in a bad mood. That might be bad for the Bumfhole... or a weakness to exploit. These two are sure to start off the night with a bang.
The SWF North American championship will be on the line, as defending champion Marc DuBois faces Antonio Marquez and Zimmy Bumfhole. Any Threefold Threat™ match means any man can win. Will the young champion be able to hang onto his beloved belt?
Troy Tornado. Chris Morrisette. John McClean. Three Supreme Legends looking to make their mark. Tornado targeted the former Lobster Warrior from the moment he joined the Supreme Wrestling Federation. These two have some bad blood. As for McClean... no one's quite sure why he's in this one, but he'll have as a chance as any to win!
Another Threefold Threat™ match will see the SWF World Tag Team championships up for grabs. Champions Valiant & Giedroyc will face not only The New Wave, but young duo Badd Kompany. Somebody in the Supreme Wrestling Federation must sure likes this Badd Kompany team, because no one else is quite sure what they've done deserve a title shot on the biggest show of the year. But apparently they were co-number one contenders with The New Wave.
Chris Caufield will defend his SWF Legends championship against Bloodstone. The member of The Golden Faction is a formidable opponent for anyone, with a serious set of skills. The Hardcore American usually finds a way to win, but this will be one of his toughest tests.
The SWF is home to man big, strong wrestlers. But three of the toughest will face each other with bragging rights on the line. Remo, Ray Diaz, and Runaway Train. This one could get messy!
A grudge match between the former tag team champions. Angry Gilmore has not forgiven Joe Sexy for abandoning him mid-match, and it didn't help when Sexy tried to put the move on Gilmore's wife Jessie. This one has all the makings of a classic war.
If anyone was wondering why Eric Eisen attacked Brett Biggz last night, it was apparently "The Chosen One's" mature response to finding out he would be facing Bart Biggz at The Supreme Challenge. Apparently feeling Bart wasn't worth the time, Eisen chose to attack Bart's brother after their match. Bart Biggz already has a point to prove in this match, and you can bet he'll be extra motivated.
Rocky Golden has talked a great game since he entered the Supreme Wrestling Federation. He talked about taking down "The Dark Destroyer" Steve Frehley from his very first promo. Now Golden has to put up or shut up as he faces the former world heavyweight champion. The ever-intense Frehley is ready for this one, so "The Golden Boy" better be aware of what he's getting himself into...
Supreme Double Jeopardy™. Two title matches in one night. Its one of the toughest challenges that an SWF champion can face, and one that few have survived. Can Jack Bruce do it? Even worse, The Long Island Angel doesn't even know who his opponent will be for the second match, should he survive Vengeance in the first match. Even with Eric Tyler in the first match for Bruce's protection, its going to be a long night for the SWF World Heavyweight champion.
There is definitely going to be at least one new champion crowned on the night. Brandon James and Christian Faith will face each other with the SWF Supreme Championship on the line. The victor will be the first man to wear the most expensive championship belt in professional wrestling history. If being a true Supreme Legend is about making history, there are few bigger chances than this.
The Supreme Challenge 28 is available in North America exclusively on North America Prime Select pay per view.

The match starts off slow, with a bit of mat wrestling giving way to some brawling. The size and power advantage of "Hard Cash" is clear and he uses it to his advantage. That allows Money to take control for a time. He works over Bumfhole and gets a couple near pins. It looks like its going to be the relatively easy win that everyone predicted for Money. Everything changes when he tosses Bumfhole over the top rope and turns his back, playing to the booing crowd. Bumfhole never hits the floor, skinning the cat back into the ring. He goes for a small package flash pin on his opponent while Money's back is turned, but Money kicks out. The younger wrestler goes hard after Money, moving with dizzying quickness as he races around the ring. Money is constantly a step behind as he chases and he simply can't keep up. Money seems to wear down, and Bumfhole tries for a couple of pins. He actually hits his Bumfhole Buster slam finisher, but Money kicks out. He looks like he's in some trouble, but a sudden Money Shaker uppcut slows Bumfhole down. Money looks angry, and he takes it out on his opponent, battering the middleweight around. He shows what "Hard Cash" is all about as he takes Randy to the outside of the ring and slams his head into the ring steps, then hammers him into the barrier several times. After throwing the Bumfhole brother back into the ring, Money chokes him for several four counts. He continually breaks it just before referee Ric Young hits the five count. The heat from the crowd is heavy. After hitting a pair of vicious looking lariats, Money throws Bumfhole in the corner. With Randy pretty much unable to defend himself, he starts putting the boots to the young star. Twice, the referee pushes Money away and warns him. The Hard Cash aspect takes over, and Money refuses to stop. He pushes Young away and keeps kicking Bumfhole. A final warning from the referee goes unheeded. So Ric Young finally calls the bell as he disqualifies Money.

Rich Money, Remo, Richard Eisen + Emma Chase
It takes two more referees to separate Rich Money from his opponent. As this is happened, Richard Eisen, Emma Chase, and Remo all hit the ring. They try to settle Money down. Chase and Eisen are irate.
The referees attend to Randy Bumfhole, who needs to helped from the ring. Money looks pretty pleased with himself, until Richard Eisen gets in his face and reminds him that he just lost. Money starts to argue with the SWF CEO. Neither man has a microphone, but their conversation is very clear from their body language. Eisen is telling Money he's out of the Double Jeopardy match, and Money is trying to change his mind... through intimidation.
Remo and Emma Chase end up having to separate them, as Eisen refuses to back down and Money looks very much like he might attack his boss. Remo manages to get Money out of the ring and is basically dragging his friend up the ramp. Hard Cash keeps yelling at Eisen and Chase all the way up the ramp.
When Money is finally at the top of the ramp, Eisen finally gets his hands on a microphone.
Richard Eisen: You lost, Money. You idiot! You lost and you're out of the Double Jeopardy!
At the top of the ramp, the visible angry Money tries to go back down to the ring. Whether to respond or make his boss pay is unclear. Remo blocks Money and gets him into the back.
Grade: A*
Duane Fry: Money is out! Money is out! Phil Vibert: Didn't see that one coming...

Another solid match, but this one doesn't capture the crowd quite as much as the opener. The three workers go all out and do their best to put together a great match. DuBois shows off some impressive psychology as he does his best to keep away from the other two, and to pit them against each other. The match features some impressive aerial sports, including Marquez running the ropes and Zimmy doing an athletic top rope leap onto the outside. Marquez and Bumfhole both get near-pins on each other, with DuBois making the last second save both times. Things fall apart when referee Jay Fair takes a shooting star press by Marquez intended for DuBois, but the champion throws the ref in front to take the impact. Fair is out. The three stare at each other for a moment and then keep brawling. There is a sudden roar from the crowd as Darryl Devine emerges from the crowd and slides into the ring unnoticed, he lays out DuBois first with a high kick that looks like it misses, but DuBois sells it like he just got shot. A flying knee puts down Zimmy next, then Devine goes after Marquez. The two men brawl and end outside the ring. DuBois suddenly gets up, and tries to wake up the referee. Still groggy, Fair sees the battle outside the ring that includes a man not in the match and he sees the champion pinning Zimmy. At the urging of DuBois, the ref counts to three and DuBois defends his belt.
Marc DuBois Wins at 10:44 via Pinfall

With his theme music playing, Nuclear makes his way onto the top of the ramp. He actually gets a pretty solid reaction. Heavily muscled and heavily tanned, he spends some time posing and preening. Nevada Nuclear: Supreme, its time to Nuke up!
Nuke goes back to posing for the crowd.
SM York: This is natural selection at its finest folks. Nuke is a true Supreme Legend in the making. A match that looked to be solid on paper turns out to be one of the best of the night. Quite simply, the three men tell a good story. There is obvious tension between Tornado and Morrisette, while McClean alternates between getting in the way and taking advantage of the situation. McClean nearly gets several pinfalls this way. The duo of Tornado and Morrisette seem to grow tired of McClean's cheap ways, and eventually being to double-team him. Some impressive teamwork sees the two rivals hit a double clothesline, then an impressive hanging suplex. McClean rolls out of the ring afterward, leaving Tornado and Morrisette to go back to brawling each other. McClean decides to wait on the outside, cowardly, while Morrisette and Tornado batter each other. The end is exciting and gets a roar from the crowd, as Morrisette just manages to avoid Tornado's Star Maker finisher, counters with a Lobster Trap suplex that allows him to get the clean pin over Tornado. McClean tries to interrupt the count but is just a moment too slow.
Chris Morrisette Wins at 12:44 via Pinfall

Duane Fry: What a big win for Morrisette! What a barn-stormer! Phil Vibert: You're so predictable, Duane.

Another solid match, as the three tag teams combine to put on a solid show. What really stands out is the teamwork between Guide and Scout. The match displays both intense brawling and some good technical wrestling. The Badd Kompany duo are the youngest and least experienced, but they do a decent job of holding their own. For a bit, it looks like The New Wave will win their first SWF tag team titles, but its not to be. Thompson gets isolated and worked over by the champions, who hit the Desolation Drop finisher to allow Valiant to get the pin, while Giedroyc heads off both Guide and Deeley to prevent them from making the save.

Two very good wrestlers put together a match that enthralls the crowd. The two men put on a show, despite their contrasting styles. While Caufield tries to brawl, the challenger tries to take the match to the mat. It ends up being the champion who dictates the match, as Bloodstone ends up brawling with "The Hardcore American". The champion somehow ends up taking the worst of it, getting his forehead busted open by a series of elbows from Bloodstone. A bloodied Caufield manages to put Bloodstone in his Danger Drop DDT, but the challenge kicks out. After continuing to work over the hardcore veteran, Bloodstone gets Caufield in the Bloodstone Variation camel clutch. Caufield manages to break it not just once, but twice. The third time proves the charm. Caufield cannot break it this time, but he refuses to submit. When the champion seems to be out, the referee calls a stop to the match. As the referee is awarding the Legends belt to Bloodstone, Caufield is arguing that he never submitted but its to no avail.
Bloodstone Wins at 13:44 via Referee Stoppage

Pure power wrestling at its finest. The match features no great displays of technique. Just pure power. The three big men batter away at each other. Diaz and Remo both show explosive intensity as well as athleticism. Runaway Train shows the single-minded determination that made him a two-time SWF World champion but he's clearly lacking the athleticism required to compete against the younger duo. There is a lengthy sequence in the middle of the match where Remo and Diaz go toe-to-toe in the center of the ring, exchanging heavy shots and a series of chest chops. The crowd loves it. With nothing but heavy power moves, though, the match does lack a bit of flow, and the crowd seems to quiet down after the exciting middle sequence. The match ends when Remo tosses Diaz from the ring after a Remo Buster, then lines up Train for The Destroyer. Remo celebrates the win by pounding his chest and roaring, having taken the position as the scariest man in the SWF.
Remo Wins at 14:32 via Pinfall
Grade: B-
Peter Michaels: Remo... He really is the alpha dog!

This one has the feel of a grudge match right from the start, and the crowd is hot. The former partners go after each other with a fury, and they put together a pretty good story. Gilmore has a well-earned reputation as one of the dirtiest players in the game, but he keeps this match clean. His former partner uses every trick the Angry taught him, however. After a strong start by Gilmore, the cheap tricks allow Sexy to take control. He brawls, hammering the smaller Gilmore with power moves. Sexy puts his former partner to the mat, then hits a Sexy strut, and another, and then he attempts at third. It costs him, as Gimore gets a knee up the drives it into Sexy's skull. Still wobbly, Gilmore rises and suplexes his opponent with his Sky High Set Up. He follows it with a perfect Sky High Elbow. He lifts the broken Sexy up and puts him back down with the Anger Management leg sweep. Its enough for Gilmore to get the pin. Angry does not look, however.
Angry Gilmore Wins at 16:22 via Pinfall
Grade: A
Duane Fry: A big win for Gimore... Phil Vibert: But I have the feeling this one isn't over.

Jack Bruce + Dani Nevada
In-Ring Interview
To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
The SWF World Heavyweight champion gets a massive reception from the crowd. He very much takes his sweet time as he gets down to the ring and poses for the crowd for several minutes. Poor Dani Nevada has the task of attempting to interview the Long Island Angel. It takes awhile for the crowd to quiet down long enough for her to even attempt it.
Dani Nevada: Champ... You have perhaps your greatest challenge facing you tonight since you became the SWF World Heavyweight champion... Do you feel up for it? Jack Bruce: Up for it? Up for it? I'll tell you, Dani, it's showtime. Well, see little sister, high in hell cheating on a halo... Grind on odyssey and holocaust heart kick on tomorrow, and you breakdown I said ecstasy in overdrive. Dani Nevada: What? Jack Bruce: Living fast and die young like an endless poetry, my supreme-psycho nightmare freak out inside of me. My soul salvation liberation on the drive. Then I step to the moonshine, frenzy hail the resurrection. What's new *****cat, can you dig the satisfaction? Well, you can't take it with you but you can in overdrive... Dani Nevada: You know, what... I give up... Jack Bruce: We'll be fighting in the streets with our children at our feet and the morals that they worship will be gone... Dani Nevada: Bruce... will... you... win... tonight? Jack Bruce: It's showtime, Dani! It's showtime!
The crowd loves the "rock and roll" nonsense that Bruce is spouting, but Dani just drops the microphone out of frustration and leaves the ring. That gives the champ leave to spend several more minutes playing to his loving masses.
Grade: A*
Phil Vibert: The champ does have a way with words...

The weakest match of the night, at least partly because the crowd never really gets behind it. A lackluster performance from Eisen doesn't help. He seems reserved, as if he's saving himself. Biggz goes, for lack of a better term, balls out. He throws himself around with little regard for his own well-being. The match goes back and forth, with Biggz hitting big spots to take the momentum, only for Eisen to steal it back pretty quickly. When Biggz is knocked off the top turnbuckle by Runaway Train, Biggz doesn't hesitate - he throws himself over the top rope onto the much bigger enforcer and attacks with a fervor. This gets Biggz his biggest pop of the match. Referee Darren Smith seems unsure of what do - starting counting for Biggz being outside the ring, or call for a disqualification for Train's interference. A quick look at the bosses son and Smith decides to start the count out. Biggz continues to go after Train, and never makes an effort to get back into the ring before the ten count. The crowd seems quite unimpressed without how the match ends.
Eric Eisen Wins at 11:04 via Count Out

Peter Michaels: Well that was a let-down of an ending...

This one is not one of the best matches of the night, but the two big men put on a pretty solid show. Golden acquits himself pretty well against the former world champion. As expected, its a heavy-handed brawl between the two. It doesn't quite reach the intensity levels shown by Remo and Diaz earlier, however. The match is tense, however, and that tension grows as The Golden Faction shows up on one side of the ring, with Diaz on the other. Golden actually manages to get Frehley into The Rack, but after a long and painful moment, Frehley fights his way out of it. A short time later, he hits a Dark Destroyer Spear that carries both men right through the ropes and out of the ring. They continue to battle outside. Golden throws Frehley into his support, who try to rough up Frehley. Diaz gets involved and things quickly dissolve into chaos. Referee Jay Fair yells out a couple of warnings before he calls the match and there is no winner.
Rocky Golden and Steve Frehley Draw at 15:55 via Double Disqualification
Grade: B
Duane Fry: So that means... both Golden and Frehley are out of the Double Jeopardy! Peter Michaels: That leaves just Eric Eisen and Remo! Phil Vibert: Don't forget Brandon James.

The match starts off fairly slow. Vengeance goes aggressively after the champ, but Tyler sticks to Vibert's plan and helps out Bruce. The duo manage to nullify most of the big man's attacks and work to wear him down. Vengeance is entirely determined, however. Tyler is knocked out of the ring for a bit, leaving Bruce and Vengeance to go at it. The bigger man takes the advantage, but the champion slides under a clothesline attempt and takes Vengeance down a flurry of punches. He goes up to the top rope and lands a very nice senton bomb. It looks like Bruce might get the quick pinfall, but Tyler comes back in and stops it. The veteran hesitates for a second, then attacks the champion. Vibert's plan is outside the window and its a proper three-way match. Tyler can't pass up a chance to win the SWF World Heavyweight championship himself. The crowd reacts with ire towards Tyler at his betrayal. Things get a bit chaotic, then they get even more chaotic when Vengeance grabs his heavy chain and attack Bruce with it. The champion gets busted open and laid out, but Tyler interrupts the pin attempt again. The veteran and the Harbinger brawl while Bruce regains his senses. Rolling outside the ring, Bruce reaches back in and grabs the chain when Vengeance drops it. He then climbs up to the top rope and nails his nemesis with the chain. A furious attack by the champion with the chain knocks Vengeance clear out of the ring. Tyler attacks Bruce from behind, but the veteran can't keep up the momentum and Bruce soon turns it. Bruce's New York Minute fame-dropper allows the champion to get the pinfall on the 48-year old. Bleeding and clearly tired, Bruce has passed the first test...
Jack Bruce Wins at 18:22 via Pinfall
Grade: B+
Peter Michaels: Bruce wins! I don't believe it! Duane Fry: Even after Tyler turns on him. Phil Vibert: Really didn't see that one coming...

Brandon James, Rich Money, Remo, Steve Frehley + Rocky Golden
Frehley and Golden are still in their ring gear, and they eye each other warily. Money and Remo are in street clothes now, with Money wearing a very nice gray pinstripe suit. James is ready for his match and looks fresh.
Emma Chase: You can't seriously believe that Eric can beat Bruce, Richard. Eric Eisen: Hey! I can get the job done, Emma. Look at him!
Eric points to a monitor, which shows Bruce down in the ring. He is slowly toweling the blood off his face, looking tired and battered.
Emma Chase: Bruce is never done. We need someone who can finish him off without fail. It has to be Brandon. Richard Eisen: Well now, that would be a bit complicated, wouldn't it, Emma? What with your deal for Brandon to join Legends. Emma Chase: It'll work, d*mnit... I'll find a way to make it work.
There is a loaded silence as no one responds. On the screen, Bruce is now leaning leaning facedown on the turnbuckle. The silence in the office is tense.
Rocky Golden: I can get it done, Mr. Eisen. Steve Frehley: Except you didn't win. Rocky Golden: And neither did you. Remo: I can get it done. So can Money. Eric Eisen: Except Money didn't win. Remo: I didn't see him get pinned out there. Richard Eisen: Just shut up, all of you. Let me think for a minute.
There is another tense quiet moment as Richard Eisen struggles to come to the right decision. Everyone waits with heavy anticipation for his call. The fans in the arena hold their breath. When it seems like Eisen is going to say something, he stops himself. And thinks about it some more.
Emma Chase: Wait! Where did he go?
Everyone looks around the room. One of them is missing. Then all eyes go to the LCD monitor screen...

With the familiar entrance music of Rich Money, the man himself emerges atop the ramp. There is a pretty notable pop from the fans. He stops and stares down at Bruce.
Down in the ring, Bruce is now sitting slumped in the corner. He has the bloodied towel wrapped his neck, and he looks up at Rich Money on the ramp with indifference.
Money starts to make his way down to the ring with intensity written all over his face. He's determined. As he stomps down the long ramp, he tears his suit off. The tie comes off and gets tossed into the crowd. Then the jacket. Money climbs the steps into the ring. He stares at the champion, who has climbed back to his feet and stares back. Money takes a moment taking his dress shirt off and tossing it aside. He's down his dress pant and leader shoes.
Referee Jay Fair looks at the ringside officials, unsure what to do. No one seems to want to make a decision.
Rich Money: Ring the f*cking bell!
After a moment, the bell indeed does ring. The match is underway.

Rich Money vs Jack Bruce
Supreme Double Jeopardy World Heavyweight Championship Match
There is no fanfare or ceremony before the match starts. The bell rings and the two men begin to circle each other. The match starts slowly, as the unfamiliar opponents feel each other out. Money launches an explosive attack that puts Bruce down. The challenger controls the next few minutes, pounding away at the champion and wearing him down. The Long Island Angel does little more than try to survive and counter a few of the attacks. He attempts little offense of his own. It looks to be just a matter of time before Bruce succumbs. But Bruce manages to block Money's attempt to get him up for a Bank Roll suplex, and the champion begins to fight back with intensity. He seems to take Hard Cash by surprise, and the uses it to his advantage. It seems like the rope-a-dope approach might work, as the champion locks onto Money to put together his Long Island Trio series of suplexes. That wears Money down enough to land the Welcome to NYC sequence. And the crowd literally explodes when Bruce nails the challenger with his New York Minute famedropper finisher. He goes for the pin, but Money kicks out. Its the challengers turn to take over, as he batters away at Bruce, causing him to bleed again with a Money Shaker uppercut. He manages to get Bruce up for his Money in the Bank suplex. A Dollars from Heaven top-rope splash is followed by a pin attempt, but Bruce kicks out. After hitting the champion with his finisher again, Rich Money gets the clean three-count in the middle of the ring to end Bruce's reign.

Rich Money + Remo
In-Ring Celebration
During the match, Remo appeared at the top of the ramp along with Eric Eisen, Brandon James, Emma Chase, and Richard Eisen. They watched the last few minutes of the match. When Rich Money wins, Remo starts to celebrate.
After the pinfall, Rich Money doesn't start celebrating immediately. He almost seems as if he can't believe it. The referee presents him with the SWF World Heavyweight championship. Hard Cash grasps the belt, dropping to his knees and starting at it. He kisses the gold belt, making obscene mouth love to it.
Remo makes his way down from the ramp to join his friend in the ring, and they celebrate. The crowd doesn't seem quite happy, but they don't truly hate the duo either.

Richard Eisen, Emma Chase, Eric Eisen + Brandon James
While the celebration goes on in the ring, the rest of the group stands at the top of the ramp. Brandon actually looks happy. Emma has a bemused smile on her face and claps a little. Both Eisen's look outright irate.
Jack Bruce has made his way out of the ring, looking stunned that he lost the match. And the belt he loves so much. An SWF official tries to help him make his way up the ramp, but Bruce refuses and makes his own way. He gives a hard look to Richard Eisen as he brushes past.

The match is everything that everyone expected - a great battle between two powerful big men. Its a down and dirty brawl. Emma Chase is at ringside, constantly shouting encouragement to her client. Big Money takes direction pretty well. The opening sequence of the match is fairly equal. Both men hit each other with a series of power moves but neither can take any real advantage. Its an adrenaline rush by James that gives him control. He spends a long sequence controlling the action and wearing down his older opponent. A pair of Brandon Bomb Drop powerbombs look like they've done Faith in, but he kicks out of the pinfall attempt. Then a Big Cat Pounce and it again looks like he's done for, but Faith refuses to be pinned. A vicious knee to the face from Big Money gives cuts Faith open, but that just serves as motivation as he powers back in the match. The crowd goes insane. A series of Machine Gun Faith Hammers put James on his back. The four-time world champion grabs his opponents and puts him up in his Stalling Atomic Suplex, setting up him perfectly for the Leap of Faith. The big man comes pounding across the ring and leaps, but James manages to roll out of the way and Faith smashes into the turnbuckles instead. A quick Big Cat Pounce puts Faith down again, but he again manages to kick out. James seems confused, unsure of what to do next. He goes after Faith with a series of heavy blows but the veteran retaliates. The duo stand in the middle of the ring, exchanging heavy blows but neither man will go down. Its finally a Faith Hammer from the bloodied Faith that drops James. Chase screams at Brandon to get up, but he doesn't seem able to. Faith drops to a knee and looks like he might be unable to take advantage. After a moment, both men start to get up and Faith grabs James and locks in his Test of Faith sleeper. James fails the test, as he can't get free or reach the ropes. When James goes out cold, referee Darren Smith calls the match.

In-Ring Celebration
As the crowd goes absolutely insane to see the 42-year old win his fifth major SWF championship. Everyone is standing as the referee grabs the SWF Supreme Championship. But he never gets to hand it to Faith. Instead, Phil Vibert come down to the ring and grabs it from the referee. He seems to take great joy in awarding the huge championship belt to Faith.

Random thought of the day... is recognition from sources that you're not supposed to get recognition from any less satisfying?
With my current role as the unofficial head booker of the Supreme Wrestling Federation, I've come to accept that I'm not supposed to be someone the public recognizes. I basically haven't been on TV in the past six months in a wrestling role, besides a few rare appearances on Generation Supreme. They've taken my profile off the roster page on SWF.com. I think they have my name someone on the site as some sort creative consultant. Not my real name, of course.
Most wrestlers look to the fans for validation. The love of an adoring crowd - or the rancor of the fans hating as they are supposed to hate - is the elixir that drives them every night. But there are certain wrestlers who's validation comes not from the crowd, but from their peers. Their skills lay not in getting themselves over with the fans but getting others over, in helping their opponents look as good as possible in a match. That type of worker rarely gets their recognition they deserve from the fans, but they are definitely appreciated by their peers.
That's the approach I've taken. It seems like the fans are enjoying the fruits of my labor, even if they don't understand that it's my work. Those within the SWF do know it, and I am getting credit and appreciation from them. At this point, it seems like most of the roster loves me.
The younger workers still credit me with helping them gain more visibility through the whole Generation Supreme thing. The brand split has given more TV time to a lot of midcard guys, and they thank me regularly for that too. Most guys seem to like the direction they are going right now.
Perhaps the strangest thanks that I've received thus far has been from both Robbie and Newton. Individually, each thanked me for keeping them off The Supreme Challenge. It seems weird that they would be happy to not be wrestling on the biggest show of the year. Both know what's going on in storyline terms, however, and they realize the storyline fallout will be much bigger for them than getting a short match on the pay per view would be. Newton admitted that he knew a match with Robbie would probably be the weakest on the show, no matter how well they worked it, because the fans wouldn't be that into it. Those two guys are both young but they understand the business pretty well.
The Supreme Challenge 28 came off beautifully. I know Eisen will want to see the buyrates before he declares it a complete success, but the reactions of the crowd told me all I needed to know. The whole angle with Money came off beautifully, even better than we planned. And even though he needed some convincing, Faith seems happy now that he has that shiny new Supreme championship belt.
One of my strangest moments since I joined the SWF happened as I was leaving the Greenwalt Dome. The Dome has one primary secure entrance the leads directly to a secure parking lot. The fans love it as they know that's the way everyone will leave, so they wait around there waiting for autographs.
I was leaving the Dome by myself, trying to decide which of the three after-parties I was going to attend. The Eisen clan was having a low-key, invite-only affair that I had been invited to. The Gilmore's were hosting one that was going to have most of the roster veterans there, including Robbie. The third option was a party that DuBois had set up at a local nightclub that could be interesting. The Gilmore event was the most appealing, but Kristen would be there and she was being a bit odd, lately. Thinking we were dating and such. Women...
As I walked out the doors and along the path to the secure parking lot, there were still a few hardcore fans lining the security barriers. Then I heard someone call out:
"I respect you, booker man!"
In my after-party attendance contemplation, I wasn't sure I actually heard what I thought I heard. I kept walking, thinking it couldn't be directed at me.
The person who had said it was not deterred, though. He called out again, this time with, "Hey! Hey! Avatar! I respect you man!"
I stopped and stepped over the barrier. It was late and there weren't a lot of fans left, thankfully. He was a fairly young guy, clean-cut and well-dressed. The kind of kid that isn't supposed to be a fan of professional wrestling.
"Did you call me booker man?" I asked him.
"Yeah," he nodded eagerly. "You're Avatar, right?"
"Yeah, I am," I admitted. "But I'm not a booker."
"Oh, cool. That's not what I read."
I laughed. I told him, "The booker is still Peter Michaels. I'm just a developmental guy. I'm here instead of with RIPW cuz I do some stuff with creative. But I'm not the booker." Ah, the standard response. Not that I've had to use it much, but its what was decided I was use. And its not really a lie, technically, because I still don't have the title of Booker. Yet.
The kid nodded, saying, "Okay, cool." He waited a second and then added, "But the rumor online says you are. I read that you're doing all the booking. Michaels is just a figurehead or whatever now, so that the board of directors doesn't get upset at having a kid doing the booking."
I laughed again. He was certainly determined. And correct, but I couldn't admit that to him. It was a bit surprising that this was first coming up in Jersey - the fans there had a reputation as being pretty smart, but not quite as knowledgeable as those in Philadelphia or New York.
"Where did you read that? Its funny and it would be awesome, but it isn't true."
"Yeah, its all over a little online wrestling community called Grey Dog Wrestling."
"I'll have to check it out," I responded.
"Well, look, I understand what you're saying," the kid told me. "But let's say, hypothetically, that you were doing the booking. If that was the case, I would want to tell you that I really enjoy what you've been doing. Just hypothetically speaking, of course."
"Okay, I hypothetically understand," was my laughing response.
I thanked the kid and moved on. As I made my way to my car, I found myself musing over what the kid had told me. Grey Dog Wrestling? I had never heard of it, but I made a mental note to check it out. How did the story get out? We've taken a lot of pains to make sure no one knows or allows the information to get out. This was something we were going to have to deal with.
As I headed to the location of the Gilmore's after-party, my concern over the kid's statements slowly turned into the tender inner glow of feeling appreciated. Somehow, for some reason, some fans had realized the contributions I was making to the Supreme Wrestling Federation and enjoyed them. That made me feel good. I know I'm supposed to worry about the fans, but how can you not enjoy that?

Friday, Week 2, July 2008
The dust has only begun to settle from The Supreme Challenge 28 and its already being hailed as a classic. The Only Show that Matters lived up to its name, providing fans around the glove with four hours of spectacle that will not soon be forgotten.
The show featured two crowning moments of awesome. The first happened when Rich Money grabbed the ultimate opportunity for himself, taking advantage of a rare moment of indecision from Richard Eisen to get himself into the Supreme Double Jeopardy™ match to take the SWF World Heavyweight Championship from Jack Bruce after a reign of some 11 months.
The second fantastic moment of the night happened in the final match. The definitive Supreme Legend Christian Faith overcame a man bigger, stronger, and a decade younger to win one more championship. Faith showed he indeed does have faith as he became the first ever SWF Supreme champion.
The SWF Legends championship also changed hands, as Chris Caufield fell to the skills of Bloodstone. The match was not without controversy, as Caufield refused to submit to Bloodstone's renowned Bloodstone Variation submission hold. Referee Shane Stones stopped the match and would not listen to Caufield's protests.
In the Threefold Threat™ match for the SWF North American championship saw Marc DuBois retain. It took some interference from Darryl Devine to give DuBois the chance he needed, however.
In the three-way tag match for the SWF World Tag Team Championships, Valiant & Giedroyc proved resilient and determined as they held onto the belts.
You can't miss SWF Supreme TV and SWF Legends next week to see the fallout from this fantastic show!
If you missed it, replays will be available all weekend on North American Prime Select. Check local listings for discount rates and times!

"The Money Era has begun! New SWF World Heavyweight champion Rich Money will address the Supreme Wrestling Federation fans. Everyone is waiting to see what Hard Cash will have to say about his first world title victory. No one is about to forget the thrilling title win at The Supreme Challenge 28 where Money literally took the opportunity to face Jack Bruce in the second Supreme Double Jeopardy™ match. You can't miss what the new champion has to say."
"The former champion Jack Bruce is will also be at Supreme TV. He is now scheduled to wrestle, but you can bet he'll be trying to find a microphone and speak his mind. I, for one, have no doubt that the man who held the World Heavyweight championship for nearly a year will ask for a rematch. And the Long Island Angel will have a good argument. I have some thoughts to share on this."
"After being off-air for nearly a month, Darryl Devine reappeared with a vengeance at the pay per view. After walking off SWF Legends weeks ago, the former SWF Shooting Star champion has not been seen. Devine appeared out of the crowd and got involved in the Supreme Threefold Threat™ match for the North American championship, inadvertently helping Marc DuBois defend his belt. What's Devine's angle? This one one to talk about."
"The man known as "Nuke" made his debut on the pay per view. This week's episode of Supreme TV will be Nevada Nuclear's in-ring debut. Can he possibly live up to the hype?"
"Speaking of hype, I'm hearing that there's another new debut in the works. A big one, from the sound of things. No word yet on whether this new wrestler will be on the Supreme or Legends brand, but my sources tell me he's sure to make an impact. A big, painful impact."
"From what I hear backstage, there are a few wrestlers who are not too happy about being left off the SWF's biggest show of the year. Will they make their feelings known? This could be something interesting to follow in the coming weeks."
"This week on Supreme TV we'll not only get to see all the fallout from The Supreme Challenge 28, but some great matches as well. Don't you dare miss out!"
The Fry Report will be available on SWF.com or directly from iTunes.

Adrian Garcia + RK Hayes
Mysterious Introduction
The show starts with the lights out in the arena. A single narrow spotlight flashes on and focuses on the SWF logo inlaid into top of the entrance stage. The spot is empty for a long, silent moment, until a small man in a suit steps into the light. He has a serious look about him, made all the more serious by a large bodyguard standing in the gloom behind him. After another long moment of silence, the unknown man raises a microphone.
Adrian Garcia: My name is Adrian Garcia. I have been sent forth to relay a message tonight. And that message is thus...
There is another silence as Garcia slowly raises a scroll to read off of.
Adrian Garcia: The moral fabric of the Supreme Wrestling Federation has been examined. And found lacking. The deception, decadence, and dishonesty in this organization have made it a pariah to the values that have made this nation great. There is an undeniable corruption that flows through the very life blood of this organization and it cannot be ignored any longer. There will be consequences for those who chose have created or chosen this path. Long past is the point of repentance. Now, there can be only judgment and damnation. Be warned that judgment day is coming.
The crowd seems unsure about any of this, so they wait a moment and then do what SWF crowds do so very well - they boo. Garcia doesn't react, he simply stands serenely in the narrow spotlight and looks serious. After a moment, music starts up and a video plays on the Supreme Screen.

Peter Michaels: Judgment day? Are you behind this, Guru? This seems like your kind of deal. The Guru: I can assure most vehemently that I am not, Peter.

The flashy Canadian against the flashier Mexican makes for a fairly entertaining match. It goes back and forth, but the skills of Marquez shine through. He displays his athleticism by skinning the cat to get back in the ring, and he wins after a very impressive Diablo Sunrise frog splash.
Antonio Marquez Wins at 8:33 via Pinfall

Antonio Marquez, Gino Montero + Richard Eisen
After the match, Marquez stays in the ring and he's joined by Gino Montero. The two grab microphones and address the crowd.
Gino Montero: Yo, we ain't out here to tell you all how oppressive the Supreme Wrestling Federation is. Antonio Marquez: You already know that. Gino Montero: We out here because my friend here had an opportunity at the pay per view... An opportunity to win something important, ese. And that opportunity was taken away. That ain't right. Antonio Marquez: We know you in the back there, Meester Eisen. We know you listening. So we got a request. Gino Montero: A special request. A chance to set things right. Meester Eisen, we think Antonio here should get another chance against DuBois next week. It gotta happen.
The duo wait in the ring for a long moment, and they begin to look unsure if Eisen will respond... then...
Richard Eisen: No!
Eisen steps out onto the top of the stage, a microphone in hand. He does not look happy. A chorus of jeers from the crowd greet him.
Antonio Marquez: No? Richard Eisen: No. That's what I said. No. Gino Montero: That's wrong, ese. And you know its wrong. Richard Eisen: Its not wrong. It just is. I'm in charge, and its my prerogative. And I say it isn't happening. Antonio Marquez: Well then how about my boy here Gino gets a shot at that Generators belt next week? Richard Eisen: Hmm... let me think about that... no! Antonio Marquez: So 'deserved' or 'earned' don't mean nothing here, then? Its just about what you feel like? Richard Eisen: Now I think you're starting to get it, Anthony. Its not that tough to figure out, really, so I'm suprised it took you this long. Antonio Marquez: It's Antonio, Meester Eisen. And if that's the way it is, then we got us a lesson we gonna have to teach you. Richard Eisen: Teach me a lesson? That's rich. What could you two possibly teach me? Gino Montero: Oh, we got lots to teach you, Meester Eisen. Antonio Marquez: About respect. About the power of the people. About revolución. Gino Montero: Its coming, ese. The revolución is coming.
Richard Eisen stares at the duo for a long moment, then shakes his head as he turns off his microphone and walks back through the entrance to the backstage area.
Grade: B+
Jerry Eisen: What does 'revolución' mean? The Guru: I'm quite certain is translate roughly to "revolution". Jerry Eisen: Oh, okay.

Campbell takes the fight to Retro, but the bigger man is having none of it. Retro uses his size and power advantage to toss Campbell around a bit, before hitting a Murder on the Dancefloor to get the pinfall.

Robbie Retro: I just needed to say something I think you all know already. It wasn't so wicked at all that me and that Ace dude didn't get to do our thing over this here youngblood belt at the big Challenge. It don't feel so good getting ignored...
Robbie trails off as he realizes that Campbell has not left the ringside area, and he has been joined by Ace Newton. The duo start to yell at Robbie, who motions for them to get into the ring. They continue yelling at him instead. Its an obvious diversion, but it works, as Vessey and Valentine sneak up from the other side and get in the ring, doubling up on Retro. Newton and Campbell jump into the ring to join in on the beatdown. The resistance from Retro lasts only for a few moments, as he is quickly overwhelmed.
Swoop McCarthy makes his way down to the ring.
To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
Swoop McCarthy
Swoop gets into the ring and quickly gets attacked for his efforts. He fights the Four Kings off just long enough to roll Robbie out of the ring, then leap out himself.
As Swoop helps his friend up the ramp, Newton picks up the microphone that Retro dropped. He brushes it off and turns it on.
Ace Newton: Now what Robbie was trying to say in his own old school way is that its an absolute travesty that we were kept off The Supreme Challenge 28. When you want to try to build up the new generation of Supreme Legends... and then keep the biggest one of them all off the biggest event of the year? That makes no sense. Ace Newton doesn't take so well to being ignored. None of the Four Kings do. The Age of the Kings has begun, and its time to pay us our due. You better recognize!
Grade: B
The Guru: Might the young man be saying he has "an ace up his sleeve"? Peter Michaels: That's terrible.

The match goes much as one would expect. Valentine and Vessey do acquit themselves quite well, showing decent individual skill and burgeoning teamwork. It simply isn't enough to match up against the top level skill, fantastic athleticism, and amazing teamwork of the Bumfholes, however. The brothers hit Valentine with Big Show finisher and get the win.

The in-ring debut of the hyped Nuclear is - surprise! - a success. He brawls with the Aussie youngster Swoop, taking advantage of Swoop's inexperience. Nuke hits his Radiation Blast suplex on the bigger Aussie, then finishes McCarthy off with the Mushroom Cloud to get the pin and his first SWF victory.
Nevada Nuclear Wins at 7:33 via Pinfall

Darryl Devine
In-Ring Segment
To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
The music of Darryl Devine gets a pretty good pop from the crowd. But a shower of fireworks at the top of ramp does not see Devine appear. The crowd seems confused. There is another pop as the crowd realizes that Devine is moving towards the ring through the crowd. He hops the barrier and slides into the ring, grabbing a microphone as he does so.
Darryl Devine: Man is his own star; and the soul that can render an honest and a perfect man, commands all light, all influence, all fate; Nothing to him falls early or too late. Our acts our angels are, or good or ill, our fatal shadows that walk by us still.
He lets that sink in for a moment. The crowd seems confused.
Darryl Devine: That was a quote from The Honest Man's Fortune. What it basically means is that man can count on nothing but himself. That's what life is - a lonely battle that you face yourself. Now I learned that the hard way - I had some friends I thought I could count on through thick and thin. And they abandoned me. When I needed the most, they weren't there. In one night, I not only lost my friends but my championship belt.
Devine lets that hang for a moment. He looks like he might tear up for a second. But then he looks determined and even a bit angry...
Darryl Devine: Now I could have wallowed in my self-pity. I could have put on eye makeup and tried to make everyone feel sad for me. But I spent some time with Ralph Waldo Emerson instead. And he gave me words of wisdom. He reminded me that I can only count on me. Darryl Devine. No one else will do for me, so I will do for myself. And what I will do to start with it take the North American championship from Marc DuBois. He couldn't keep me from taking the Shooting Star belt when he had it. Now I know you're listening in the back DuBois... send your little friend out here and watch what is going to happen to you...

A solid match between the two Generation Supreme stars. Chord uses some dirty tactics to try to gain an advantage, but Devine shows a new-found determination. He works through it, managing to hit a Devine Dream Drop, but Chord stops the pinfall by grabbing the ropes. A Devine Invention is followed up by another Devine Dream Drop, allowing Devine to get the pinfall win.
Darryl Devine Wins at 8:04 via Pinfall

The two men put on an impressive display of athleticism and quickness in the ring. Remo, however, is simply overpowering. Dani Nevada is down at ringside to yell encouragement at Reed, but it doesn't help him too much. Reed manages to make the bigger man look good, as Remo explodes through him with massive offensive attacks. Remo hits a particularly nasty looking Remo Buster. Reed finally gets put down for the three-count with a Destroyer.

The two men battle. While Sexy brawls, Morrisette uses his grappling skills. It makes for a solid and entertaining match that goes back and forth. Sexy takes control for a long spell, but Morrisette battles back. It looks like Morrisette will get the win after a Lobster Trap suplex, but John McClean manages to interfere without the ref's notice and help his partner out. The match goes back and forth again. McClean can't keep his hands out of the match, climbing onto the apron to drive a forearm into Morrisette's back when the ref is against distracted. When McClean tries to do it again, Morrisette ducks under and drags McClean into the ring. McClean goes after Morrisette and the ref can't help but notice, causing the match to get called in Morrisette's favor.
Chris Morrisette Wins at 11:04 via Disqualification

Jack Bruce
In-Ring Segment
To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
The former champion comes out to a wall of approval as thick as he ever received when he was champion. Bruce takes a long while, playing to his fans. He makes the 'belt' motion around his waist several times. Its several minutes before he even grabs the microphone. Bruce quiets the crowd before he talks, with emotion.
Jack Bruce: Yeah, a storm is threatening my very life today. If I don't get some shelter, lord, I'm gonna fade away. But my dreams they aren't as empty as my conscience seems to be. I have hours, only lonely love is vengeance that's never free. No one knows what it's like to feel these feelings like I do. And, Rich Money, I blame you!
The crowd roars.
Jack Bruce: Money, I want a rematch. Right here. Right now. I want my belt back. And baby, its showtime!
Bruce and the crowd await a response from the new SWF World Heavyweight champion. They wait... and wait... and there is no response forthcoming.
Jack Bruce: Just like I though, Money. You're a coward. You're afraid to face me again, without the odds stacked in your favor. That isn't so money, if you ask me....
Bruce let's this hang as well. There is still no response.
Jack Bruce: You can't duck me, Money. I'll get my hands on you. And the Long Island Angel is gonna get his gold back. Where it belongs, around my waist.
Grade: A
The Guru: Rich Money will have a response, methinks. Peter Michaels: You clearly don't think, Guru.

Another very solid match as the veteran Canadian takes on the Remember Tomorrow youngster. Parker puts up a solid battle, but Gilmore is just too much. The Irascible One coolly takes Parker apart, wearing him down with a series of painful holds. Gilmore then launches a dizzy series of impressive offense, before slowing things down again. Parker attempts to fight back, but Gilmore is quite stifling. Jessie cheers on her husband from outside the ring, and the beauty goes nuts when Gilmore goes through his Angry sequence - a Sky High Set Up, followed by a Sky High Elbow, leading to the Anger Management. Its enough for Gilmore to get the pinfall.
Angry Gilmore Wins at 13:04 via Pinfall

Rich Money + Remo
To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
With great pomp and circumstance, Rich Money struts his way down to the ring. His newly-won belt is over his shoulder and his friend Remo is by his side. Money has never looked more self-satisfied. He spends awhile posing while the fans shower him with hate.
Rich Money: That's right, Supreme fans... Drink it in... The glory that is Money. Etch this image into your small little minds. Learn to love what you see before you. Because Rich Money as the SWF World Heavyweight Champion is here to stay!
Remo makes a ceremony of taking the belt off Money's shoulder reverently and strapping it around his waist. Tho two friends high five each other.
Rich Money: I hope none of you missed it. I truly hope none of you fans missed seeing me, Rich Money, take advantage of the perfect situation as only I can. To come down to this ring... in a g*ddamned suit - and beat the champion clean in the middle of the ring. No questions. No shenanigans. Just proof that I am the better man. That's why Bruce didn't want to face me through his entire reign... He knew. And now all of you know. There's no more denying it... I. Am. Money.
More posing and strutting. Money pulls off his dress shirt and does Sam Strong's signature Show of Strength pose.
Rich Money: Now I wasn't the only one who had a great night at The Supreme Challenge. My good friend Remo here faced off against two of the biggest, toughest men in the entire Supreme Wrestling Federation. And he won. Now I think we can safety call Remo here the Alpha Dog of the SWF.
Remo starts pounding his chest and howling.
Rich Money: Remo... Money... Its a combination you can't beat... There is a sudden roar from the crowd as Jack Bruce steps out into the spotlight on the stage.

Jack Bruce
Jack Bruce: Sorry to interrupt the dog show. But pperhaps you didn't hear me earlier, Mr. Money. Perhaps your ears were full of dollar bills. But I cam out here in front of all these fans and laid down a challenge to you. A challenge you weren't man enough to answer. Rich Money: Oh, I heard you, Jack. I heard you quite clearly. But I didn't respond then. Because I wanted you to come out here now and grovel. I wanted you to come out here and beg for a chance to get your belt back. Your precious belt. That you don't have anymore.
Money is clearly getting to Bruce. The Long Island Angel looks like he seething.
Jack Bruce: So what's it going to be, Money? You man enough to face the Long Island Angel? You man enough to face Showtime? Rich Money: Man enough? I don't think there's much question about how much man I am... You can ask Emma about that one. But you see, there's just two little problems with your challenge... One, there isn't a whole lot of time left on the show. And while I can beat you quick if I have to, I would prefer to savor the victory. To take my time with it.
Money lets that hang for a moment. Bruce says nothing, clearly annoyed at the new champion.
Rich Money: And two, I'm a money champion, Jack. You might have thought of yourself as a "fighting champion", willing to face anyone and everyone. Me, I hold myself and my belt in a bit higher regard. You want to face me for belt, you can be d*mned sure it isn't going to be on free TV. Its going to be on pay per view. Money is worth paying for.
Before Bruce can say anything in response, Randy and Zimmy Bumfhole walk out onto the stage. They stare at Bruce for a moment, then look down at Money and Remo in the ring.

Randy Bumfhole + Zimmy Bumfhole
Randy Bumfhole: Before you two old dudes many plans, my bro here and I would like to remind you, like, who actually beat Money at The Supreme Challenge. Zimmy Bumfhole: In case your old brains have forgotten already, it was my bro here. Rich Money: Beat me? You think you beat me, kid? Wow... Randy Bumfhole: Try to deny it however you want, dude. But you didn't beat me. And that means I should get the first shot at that belt, man.
Jack Bruce: Hey, kid, get in line. There's no jumping in front of Showtime. Zimmy Bumfhole: Showtime is over, man. Showtime is old. Rich Money: Listen, I can't help but find it ironic that you two were out here a few weeks ago, talking about building your immortality through glory and all that. And now you're trying to hold a disqualification win over me. Randy Bumfhole: A win is a win, dude. Rich Money: Indeed it sometimes is. Jack Bruce: The Angel doesn't give a d*mn about your meaningless win, kid. That's my belt and I deserve a shot to get it back.
Bruce starts arguing with the two Bumfholes. Money and Remo look at teach other, bemused. They let it go for a moment before Money interrupts.
Rich Money: Look, before you three get into up there, I have a proposal. You both think you deserve a shot at me. Prove it. You can each have a chance to face my friend Remo here. Whoever gets past him can face me for the belt at Welcome to the Jungle. You okay with that, Remo. Remo: My pleasure. Rich Money: Great! Its settled then.
With that, Money drops the microphone and rolls out of the ring. He struts up the ramp, followed closely by Remo. He pushes past Bruce and the Bumfholes. Just before he steps through the entrance way, he stops and holds his belt up one more time, just in case anyone in the arena has overlooked the fact that Rich Money is now the SWF World Heavyweight champion.

"There has been a whole lot of talk around the Supreme Wrestling Federation's Legends brand this past week about Eric Tyler. Many feel he betrayed Phil Vibert when the veteran decided to try to win Jack Bruce's SWF World Heavyweight championship for himself in the Supreme Double Jeopardy™ at The Supreme Challenge 28. Tyler failed, but you can be sure there will still be some fallout on SWF Legends this week. From what I understand, Tyler is scheduled to address his actions on the show. I, for one, can't wait to hear what the legend has to say for himself."
"This week will see a few debuts on the show. The big ones will be Brandon James and Emma Chase, who make the move from the Supreme brand. There are not the only debuts, however. James will be in action against newcomer Erik Strong, a 22-year with tremendous upside. He's going to have his hands full against "Big Money" however."
"Mr. Miwa brought masked high-flier Ota to SWF Legends last week. This week he brings an unknown partner Ota, introducing the tag team The Tokyo Underground. I have heard Ota is one half of the tag team, but no word yet on who his partner could be. Whoever the second half of The Tokyo Underground will be facing two-time SWF World Tag Team champions High Concept."
"There will be another tag team debuting... If you missed SWF Generation Supreme last week, you missed Jacob Jett, Elmo Benson, and Groucho Bling coming to the rescue of Mainstream Hernandez when the Samoan contingent roughed him after a match. Jett and Hernandez will team up against The Samoan Wildboyz."
"An interesting match that has been lined up for the show is Chris Caufield facing Kurt Laramee in a First Blood Match. There is some bad blood between two from their days with Danger and Violence Extreme. What's strange about this one is that Caufield is well-known to dislike these matches, due to his scarred face and propensity to bleed in match. It makes it tough for him to win this type of battles. I've talked to Phil Vibert and he denied having booked Caufield into this match, saying he isn't sure who made those arrangements. This is an interesting situation to watch."
"And, of course, the moment so many fans are wanting to see - Christian Faith and his shiny new SWF Supreme Championship belt. Not only will the Legend have some things to say, but he will also put that belt on the line. Don't miss out!"
The Fry Report will be available on SWF.com or directly from iTunes.
