Royal rumble video package was aired reviewing the history of royal rumble.Later video package continued previewing the events for tonight.

Opening video aired, pyro explodes and color commenatators from all the three brands welcomes us to 22nd anniversary of royal rumble.They also hyped the only pay-per-view where "ROAD TO WRESTLEMANIA" begins.

Matt hardy music hits and out he comes to a huge pop for his title match.Swagger made his way to the ring followed by hardy.Video back from ECW was shown and even the brawl which took place this past week on ECW.

MATT HARDY VS JACK SWAGGER (ECW CHAMPIONSHIP)

Match starts with a few locks.Hardy gets back in control by few offense.Hardy goes for the twist of fate early on but swagger moves out of ring only to get booed.

Later on swagger hits hardy with a big boot to the skull.Swagger started his offense on hardy.He slams hardy hard to the mat fro 2 count.Swagger brings hardy down on the floor and hits him hard leg first on the steel steps.Swagger brings back hardy into ring before 10 count and goes for the cover.

Swagger goes for his finisher but hardy counters it into side-effect.Hardy tried to rally crowd behind him.He superlex swagger on the mat and goes on the middle rope.Hardy signals for the elbow.But swagger catches hardy by his legs and knocks him down to mat.Swagger starts pounding on hardy.

Swagger applies and inverted abdominal stretch over hardy.Crowd started chanting for hardy.Hardy however gets rid of the hold.Hardy with a kick to the guts and hits him swaggr with the running knee.

Hardy goes on the middle rope for the second time and connects this time with an elbow.Hardy hits swagger with second side-effect.Hardy goes over the top rope for the moonsault.But swagger catches him on the top in an electric chair position and goes to throw hardy face first on the turn buckle.

Hardy however slides down his way and goes for the twist of fate.But swagger recounters hardy and hits him with his finisher for the pinfall.

WINNER : JACK SWAGGER (STILL ECW CHAMPION)

Todd talks to matt striker about succesful defense by jack swagger "IS HE REALLY THE NEW FACE OF EXTREME".

Backstage santino was in the divas locker room for wishing luck to his girlfriend glamazon for her match next.However he tells beth that he wont be in the corner for her match tonight as he is preparing to win the rumble tonight."But well i got one who will be in your corner to cheer you up" Glamazon asks "who is it?" Rosa mendes enters and santino signs glamazon "here she is".Beth goes out from the locker rooom without having a word leaving speechless expressions on both santino and rosa.

Melina music hits and out she comes planning to be a champion again.Beth follows next but she is alone though.

MELINA VS BETH PHOENIX (WOMENS CHAMPIONSHIP)

Match starts with a glamazon dominating melina."SHE TRUELY IS DOMINATING".

In between the match rosa makes her way to the ring side cheering for beth.Melina takes an advantage of this and does some offense over beth.Melina hits some of high-flying moves.Melina goes on the top rope and goes for the cross body but beth again over powers her and catches her in mid-air for bear hug.

Crowd tries to rally behind melina.However melina break the hold and slaps beth on the face.

This infuriated rosa outside the ring and she attacks melina from back like hell.Refree declares the winner by DQ melina but still womens champion beth phoenix.

Rosa knocks melina outside the ring.She goes for the shake hand with beth.But beth slaps her hard in return for which crowd cheered and moves with he title out of ring.Rosa loooks to be like crying.

WINNER : MELINA BY DQ

Video package was aired regarding the recent accident happening with the wwe champion jeff hardy.

JR confirms us that hardy is present here tonight.

Edge was shown in the parking lot talking to someone on his mobile in tensed look.Big show appears from back and edge cut his phone.Big show tellls edge that he better win tonight because he big show will be waiting for him at wrestlemania when he wins the rumble tonight.Big show goes terrifying edge.

Edge music hits and the crowd booed him heavily.He makes his way to the ring.After a minute jeff hardy music hits and out he comes with his title in "UNCOMPATIBLE" position.

JEFF HARDY VS EDGE (WWE CHAMPIONSHIP)

Jeff goes for the quick attack over edge as soon as the bell rings and knocks him down to the floor.He shoves edge to the ring steps.Then smashes his head on the smackdown announce table for almost ten times.He irish whips edge on the ring barricade and hits him with the clothesline which knocks edge into the audience.However hardy brings edge back before the 10 count and goes over the top rope for the swanton.But edge catches refree and throws him towards hardy by which hardy looses the balance on the top rope.Edge gets on the top rope too and suplexes hardy hard on the mat.Edge goes for the cover but gets 2 count.

After some few offense by edge jeff started gaining his momentum back with flying fore-arms.Jeff hits edge with leg drop to the mid-section and 2 count.Jeff goes for the twist of fate but edge ducks out of the way.Edge back in control now and applied a choke hold over hardy.Hardy seems to be exhausted.Refree goes to declare edge as winner but hardy shows some lively power back and breaks the hold by over-powering edge out.

Hardy hits edge with a two-legged drop kick which knocks edge down to the rope.Hardy hits edge with a missile dropkick in the corner.Hardy started showin some power by his high-flying moves.

Hardy hits edge with a reverse of fate and signals the crowd for the swanton bomb."I GUESS THE END IS NEAR".Hardy goes on the top rope but "HEY"the guy in a balck dressed with a helmet on his skull came running towards hardy.This distracts hardy as hardy jumps on that "MASKED MAN"with flying cross body on the outside from the top rope.Hardy tries to get that helmet off th guy.But the guy made his save running away.Hardy goes behind that guy but refrees count was near 10.So hardy comes back in the ring before the count.

Edge goes for the spear on hardy from behind but hardy counters with sends edge into the steel ring-post.Hardy hits edge with a whisper in the wind and goes on the top rope.He hits edge with a swanton bomb and pins him.

WINNER : JEFF HARDY (STILL WWE CHAMPION)

Jeff hardy celebrates in the ring but edge looks to be unhappy as if his plan to gain the gold back seems to be failed.

JBL was shown backstage with michaels in his locker room.He says michaels to hit cena once with sweet chin music to knock him out-cold and he would reward him with a bonus.Shawn looks in dis-belief to himself.

A video aired highlighting the feud between cena and JBL which also involved shawn michaels.

Edge was shown backstage yelling on his phone to someone.However vickie gets into face of EDGE and seems to be in angry mood.She says "i told you edge u better win tonight orelse be ready to pay the price" and walks away.

JBL's limo gets in the arena.Shawn opens the door and comes out of a driver seat as he was the driver for tonight"INSULT TO LEGEND".Cena comes next to a mixed reaction as always.

JBL VS JOHN CENA (WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP)

JBL taunts shawn to remember about what he has to do during the match.Shawn just gets his head down.Cena goes for early offense with a snap suplex and 2 count.

Cena goes on the top for the leg drop but JBL counters with a big boot in the mid-air.JBL tries to pound over cena in the corner with hands and boots.Refree seperates them away.

After sometime as JBL is in control he hits cena with fall away slam and 2 count.JBL applies head lock onto cena.However cena powers it out and goes for the FU but JBL slides down the way and gets behind shawn ringside.Cena follows him down and comes face-to-face with shawn.JBL sees an opportunity and gets a cheap shot on cena with the rake in his eyes.

Jbl goes for the power bomb to cena and hits him with it.JBL gets the near fall.JBL wanted to end this early as he goes for the clothesline from hell.But cena lifts him up in running position for FU but JBL slides down on back-side and shoves cena knocking down refree.

Refree is down and JBL calls shawn in the ring.Shawn removes his jacket and gets in the ring.Crowd started chanting "HBK HBK HBK".Shawn unable to make decision.Action is totally stopped in the ring for sometime.HBK look upto JBL in the anger mood and suddenly hits cena with the "sweet chin music".Crowd booed heavily and JBL orders HBK now to leave the ring and let him collect the remaining pieces from the exhausted cena.

Shawn leaves the ring as the crowd booed him out till backstage.Refree is a bit up now.JBL smiles to the crowd as cena tries to get back on his feet from the vicious kick from shawn.

JBL goes for the clothesline from hell but cena counters it and locks JBL in STFU.Crowd goes crazy at this time.JBL looking to reach the rope.As he gets near to it cena droves him back in the lock right in the centre of the ring.Refree looks after JBL as after few seconds he taps out to cena.

WINNER : JOHN CENA (STILL WORLD HWVT CHAMPION)

Cena even after help from shawn got the victory.JBL looks in a shock as well as surprised moood.

Jeff was shown unconscious backstage as the doctors along with matt,helms and few others were even present.Jeff was carried on stretcher and put in the ambulance.But ambulance drives away only with jeff with the door open.Commenatators exclaimed "WHO THE HELL WAS IT?WHERE DID JEFF WENT?WHO CARRIED HIM?WAS THAT SAME MASKED MAN?"

Lilian garcia announces HOWARD FINKEL as the special guest ring announcer for "ROYAL RUMBLE MATCH".He gets on the mic and recollects the history build-up for the royal rumble as the most anticipated pay-per-view of the year.

He introduces the first entrant for royal rumble 2009 which emerges as rey mysterio.Mysterio makes his way to the ring as th commentators repeats the history of mysterio being the only under dog rumble winner and even at that time he was no.1 contender.

Mysterio waits for his opponent next."BANG" pyro explodes and outcomes kane to open at NO.2.As soon as the bell rings mysterio starts with the kicks to kane.Kane catches mysterio by his legs but rey hits with an enziguri knocking kane on the middle rope.Rey signals for the 619 and connects it.Mysterio goes for the senton bomb but kane catches him in mid-air and lifts him in a chokeslam position trying to eliminate rey.However the count down starts for the next entrant which emerges as THE GREAT KHALI.

Khali gets in the ring and attacks kane from behind.The two giants starts working on each other.Khali with an advantage over kane in the corner.Kane tries to comeback with kicks but khali knocks him down with a big right hand chop.Rey goes over the top rope and comes down with a splash over kane.

Next entrant comes down to ring was mark henry.Henry attacked mysterio and khali.Mysterio kicks henry into guts and goes for hurricanrana but henry reverses it into side walk slam.Khali comes back on henry with some fist.Khali tries to clothesline henry but both of them dint fall.Khali goes for another unsuccesful clothesline.Rey got back of henry in bend down position so that khali was successful in making henry fall by his third clothesline.

Next entrant was shelton benjamin.Benjamin gets in the ring and watches all three big men in ring except rey.He goes to work on rey in the corner.Khali worked over kane trying to eliminate him however henry helped khali to eliminate kane but they were not able to.Kane started working on both men at same time.Henry went to clothesline kane but kane ducks out which indirectly hits khali making him fall.On the other corner benjamin trying to eliminate rey and kane helping him.

Next entrant was ECW ORIGINAL tommy dreamer.Todd Grisham annoucing might be the last rumble match for tommy."ECDUB ECDUB" chants started.Tommy with a series of clothesline to benjamin.Tommy was attacked from behind by henry.Henry punches tommy outcold in the ring and goes for the big splash but tommy moves out of way and mysterio from the other side hits with the splash of his own.Khali still trying to eliminate kane.

Next entrant to enter the ring was cody rhodes.Cody rhodes slightly goes to work on helping khali eliminate kane.This time kane fell off the rope but dint touched his foot to floor.Khali raored in the ring thinking he eliminated kane.But kane hits khali with a big boot which eliminated him.Mysterio comes from behind kane but kane ducks with a back body drop.Mysterio hanged on the ropes and gets back in the ring.

Next entrant turned out to be festus who run down the ring in a complete mood to wrestle.He sooon dominated the ring working on rey benjamin and cody.He lifts cody up in the air for throwing him out but he slides down and dropkicks festus.

Next entrant was the miz.Miz instead of getting in the ring went to grab the bell ring and rings it which made festus look like a dumb in the ring.He goes to attack festus and solely was succesful to eliminate him.

The 10th entrant for the night was jesse.He went over to eliminate THE miz.But miz was hanging on the ropes.Jesse applied a full force down to eliminate miz.

Next entrant turned out to be morrisson who ran down the ring for the aid of his partner.He came from behind and eliminated jesse and saved the miz.Miz and morisson started doube-teaming rey rey trying to eliminate him.

However entrant no.12 made his ring which was CM PUNK holding his new title.He gets in the ring and attacks benjamin.He hits benjamin with a running knee in the corner followed by a bulldog.He signals the crowd for GTS and lifts benjamin up but big boot to the face by kane.Kane chokeslams benjamin in the ring much to the delight of crowd.

Entrant no.13 turned out to be "HALL OF FAMER" tony atlas.Tony came to the ring teaming with henry.Henry was concentrating on elimination of PUNK but atlas advices henry to remove the kane first.So henry went for eliminating kane but mysterio with a cheap shot on henry from back which led to no-effect on him.Henry ran behind mysterio however mysterio bend down the top rope which eliminated henry.Atlas looked in shock who went to attack rey but was even eliminated within a seconds by mysterio.Benjamin with a reverse kick to the rey.

Entrant no.14 turned out to be another giant the big show.Big show came in the ring and chokeslams almost everyone.All the men down the ring.Kane and BIG SHOW came face to face.They exchanged right hands with crowd booing show nad cheering kane.Show catches kane by throat and even kane does the same.But show overpowers kane and goes to eliminate kane.But was unsuccesful to do so.

Entrant no.15 "JR claimed who will be the half entrant?"It turned out to be santino.Santino loooks on the chaos in the ring and with a weird look on his face remains on the outside.Rey was on the top rope but benjamin out of nowhere jumps directly on the top rope showing his athletic abilities trying to suplex rey.But punk came from down and catches benjamin on his shoulder which allowed rey to cross body shelton down to the mat.Santino was still staring from the ramp.

Entrant no.16 turned out to be THE BOOGEYMAN.Santino was confused about where to go.However being afraid of boogeyman he gets in the ring where he came face to face with kane.Kane chokeslams santino on the outside to eliminate and big show came from behind eliminating his former partner kane over the top rope.

Entrant no.17 came out to be Ted di biase.As soon as he get in the ring he began teaming with cody over mysterio.Boogeyman was soon eliminated by benjamin.Rey with a head scissor to PUNK.Punk lifts rey fro GTS but rey elbows his way out.

Entrant no.18 came down from the audience "WASSUP" i guess you know him its R-TRUTH.Truth enters the ring no soooner he clotheslines benjamin to be eliminated.Benjamin looked to be in shock as R-TRUTH taunted benjamin "WASSSSUP".Big show catches rey in mid-air and throws him hard to the floor.Punk with a high knee to big show making him bleed.Punk goes for the another one but gets caught by show and gets chokeslammed.

Entrant no.19 Kofi came out with a "boom boom".Kofi goes for the boom boom leg drop over his former partner punk and hits him with it.Morisson comes with a spring board dropkick to kofi and miz went for the mic chek over kofi.Morisson hits punk with a cockscrew neckbreaker.

Entrant no.20 Finlay accompanied by hornswoggle came down the ring with a shillegah.He knocks almist everyone down in the ring with his shillegah shots.Big show was successful in catching that shots and in return hits finlay with it.Everyone was down in the ring again with the sole giant alive "THE BIG SHOW".He taunted th crowd "is anyone here to take me common get down the ring" Count down started with big show staring at the entrance.

Entrant no.21 "TONG TONG" outcomes the undertaker much to the delight of crowd.The light came back wiith undertaker in the ring behind big show.Big show turns around only to get attacked with right hands from the undertaker.Undertaker clotheslines show in the corner twice and hits him with the old school.He signals for the chokeslam but show powers him out and lifts taker for the chokeslam of his own.But taker counters it into DDT.Taker hits him with the leg drop.

Entrant no.22 Moscow mauler came down the ring with a stiff warrior kinda look.Kozlov enters the ring working on truth.Truth however came back with some fist and goes for the clothesline but kozlov catches him with had butt to the chest which eliminates truth.Dreamer comes from behind attacking kozlov.Kozlov cathes dreamer with one hand and eliminates dreamer like a dirt from the ring.

Entrant no.23 Umaga made his return to wwe.Umaga comes face to face with kozlov.They started exchanging hands which ended when umaga gives samoan drop to kozlov.No sooner umaga goes to eliminate miz from the match.Now he turns his attention over morisson.He tries to remove morisson but miz helping morisson from the outside by not letting morisson's feet touch the ground.Hornswoggle comes from underneath the ring and remove the pant down of the miz which led morisson to be eliminated too.Morisson and miz tries to find hornswoggle underneath.But horny comes out from the other side with a fire-extinguisher in his hands as miz/morisson turns around he uses it on both of them and ran backstage.But this led to the distraction for finlay and gets eliminated by PUNK.

Entrant no.24 turns out to be a big man "THE GAME".He makes his way to the ring straight by attacking kozlov.Game unsuccessfullly tried to eliminate kozlov.Umaga comes from behind attacking hhh he hits with the samoan spike.Kozlov working over punk in the corner as well as big show with the chops to the chest of the undertaker.

Entrant no.25 turns out to be carlito.Carlito gets in the ring but gets dominated by cody/teddibaise.Punk comes to the aid of carlito.Both makes a huge impact over legacy with their high flying moves.As carlito and punk goes to eliminate both ted and cody.Entrant no.26 came down.

Entrant no.26 Randy orton.He saves his legacy stabe and eliminates carlito.All the three goes to work on PUNK.RKO from orton to punk followed by vicious attacks from cody and ted.Cody and ted pose for the crowd which got heavily booed.Taker comes from behind and catches both by throat and hits with a double chokeslam.Orton from behind goes for the RKO but taker shoves him away to PUNK who hits him with GTS.KING LAWLER makes us remember who is next because it is a lucky number.

Entrant no.27 "BREAK THE WALLS DOWN" outcomes Y2J.Jericho hits the ring to his lucky entrant no.He goes to work on punk and hits him with codebreaker.Kozlov on the other hand was eliminated by undertaker which infuriated kozlov on the outside.Kozlov gets back in the ring when taker goes to work on big show and clothesline taker out thus eliminating taker out of ring.This resulted in a brawl on the outside between taker and kozlov where kozlov slams undertaker on announce tabe which breaks down.Refree orders kozlov to get back and checks on the undertaker.

Entrant no.28 THE BRIAN KENDRICK.Brian goes to work on someone of his size like punk.However punk catches kendrick in mid-air trying to throw him from the top rope.

Entrant no.29 comes out to be eziekel jackson.As punk throws kendrick out jackson who was on the outside catches kendrick in mid-air not allowing him to be eliminated with both of them getting back in the match.Jackson soon eliminated punk by his power.But umaga eliminated both jackson as well as kendrick from behind at same time.

Entrant no.30 "here comes the money" shane comes out for the match with mic in his hand and said "i am out here to kick the ass down of randy orton"he runs down the ring and goes to attack orton with right hands which led them to brawl on the outside.However both the men were not eliminated because they dint went over the top rope.Cody and ted went for the help of orton.Shane was outnumbered by three men.Orton hits with a RKO on the broken announce table.He goes for the punt kick and hits shane with it knocking him out-cold.

Doctors ran in to check after shane and carries him backstage on stretcher.

"LEGACY" gets back in the ring and eliminates show with the help of umaga.However they turned back on umaga soon thus eliminating him too.Cody and ted taunted umaga on the outside.But orton lifts both of them up from their legs and eliminates them.This leaves us to four men in the ring (JERICHO,HHH,ORTON AND CM PUNK)

Orton goes to work on punk and hhh working on jericho.HHH goes for the pedigree to jericho but jericho counters it into code breaker.Orton and jericho together tries to eliminate hhh.However punk made the save.Punk with a kick to the skull of orton.He lifts Y2J for GTS but y2j turns it into "walls of jericho".Orton out of nowhere punts to y2j in the skull too which made him unconscious to wrestle.Orton was able to succesfully eliminate jericho from the match which crowd dint liked at all.

Punk catches orton in GTS position but orton slides down and hits with an atomic drop.Orton goes for punt to punk now.He measures punk but hhh stops orton by attacking him with series of right hands.HHH hits orton with a high knee.HHH goes for the spine buster now and signals for the pedigree.But punk lifts hhh up and hits with GTS as every man for himself.Orton recovers enough to hit punk with rko and eliminate him.

This leaves us to two men now orton and exhausted hhh.

Orton goes for the punt kick but hhh counters and goes for the pedigree.But orton counters back with a back body drop.Orton goes for the RKO but hhh shoves him away and atlast hits him with pedigree.But hhh doesnt seem to be in any position to eliminate orton.Both men get up orton with shot to the guts of hhh.Orton tries to eliminate game but he hangs on.

Orton goes on the top rope but misses the cross body.Shane comes back (crowd cheers).He gets a steel chair underneath the ring and measures orton.But surprisingly he turns on HHH and hits him with the steel chair.

Orton smiled at shane as the punt kick was just the plan made by orton.Orton is now with shane against vince and stephanie.

Orton hits with another chair shot on "THE GAME".Orton hits with a RKO.He eliminates game from the rumble to win the rumble (thanks to shane mcmahon).

WINNER : RANDY ORTON

Howard finkel announces orton as the royal rumble winner for 2009.Shane gets on the mic and says that i am siding team legacy.It is a regret due to what stephanie stole my position on RAW few weeks ago and slapping me infront of my "WWE UNIVERSE".

He is with the future champion randy orton now.Cody and ted comes out to celebrate with orton and shane (now formed team legacy involving shane mcmahon) as the royal rumble goes off air.......................
