CWA's biggest fan favourite jumps ship to WS August 8/09 source: dailysportsnews.com
For a long time now the WS wrestling promotion has been second fiddle to the Clique Wrestling Alliance. While Wrestling Society is still the number two promotion in North America by a wide margin they may have made their biggest step towards catching CWA. Earlier today, robertorules.com, Roberto's official website, announced that he has in fact signed with WS. Roberto Superstar is one of the top names in pro wrestling and possibly the best pure wrestler in the World.
The signing of Roberto is easily WS’s biggest acquisition since its birth. With Roberto they get a huge name, someone who has main-evented wrestling's biggest PPVs, and someone who can compete better than all of the guys on the roster. This signing could be WS' real chance to seriously start competing with CWA.

Yesterday the wrestling world was shocked when Robeto, through his personal website, announced that he has infact signed with Wrestling Society.
I tried to get in contact with robertorules.com site administrator and when he e-mailed me back, he confirmed to me that Roberto has indeed signed a very lucrative deal to star in their promotion. He also stated that the injury was a work to write him out of CWA and that Roberto is fine and healthy.
I've talked to some of the CWA Superstar and they are shocked and disappointed and none of them knew about this.
I got a hold of Charles Anderson, owner of CWA, and he seems just as shocked and confused about this...
Charles Anderson: "I do not know anything about this. I will try and get a hold of Roberto and see whats going on. His injury was legit as far as I know and unless he faked it, he was indeed really hurt. He also has a contract with CWA and him signing with WS would be a breach of that contract."
This is a very weird situation to say the least and by far the most shocking. Roberto signing for WS has turned the wrestling world up side down and this could really hurt CWA. I will try and get in contact with Roberto myself and as soon as I know more, I will update you guys.

I lol'd to say the least. Its funny how things turn out. Just a few weeks ago I was talking about how kewl it would be if Roberto made the jump and, here he is. I do like the idea of a contract though, I think every e-fed wrestler should be given a contract of some sort.

In the last few days, our website has been bombarded with e-mails from fans asking when Roberto is going to appear on WS programming. Well, I am sorry to disappoint you all, but Roberto has not signed any WS contract as of this writing. We are unaware why he would make such as statement on his official website, but again, he is not a WS contractual wrestler, as much as we would love for that news to be true.
Since the birth of our promotion, we have tried to get you fans the best performers available. We are not going to lie, we have tried intensely to try and sign Roberto, but at the end of the day, he has always remained faithful to his current employer.
If Roberto is having issues with that other company, WS is here to welcome him with open arms as he would be a great addition to our roster. He is considered by many to be the best wrestler in the world today and WS agrees with that.
But no matter what happens, we will continue our journey to be the best damn wrestling company we can be and maybe one day we will beat today's wrestling juggernaut in the ratings war.
