The Shoutbox. How important is it to you?

I know I dont come around all to much. I like it at times..turns off alot of members with the constant 1337 talk.

Only use it when I am really bored. I can't be bothered with all the slang that is used there either. To me this is a web forum not a chat room.

My issues are its only video game talk and the other half of the time I can't understand the 1337 talk too.

I'd like it if most of the gaming talk was put into the gaming zone.. that place needs a boost and maybe the thoughts and reviews of others would be an interesting read.

Obviously it's not all gaming talk, just usually when something hot comes out. It tends to be the topic at hand at the time, we talk about wrestling alot. We just happen to use it most, so it reflects topics we enjoy, I'm more then welcoming to others more often then not. So I guess I <3 The Shoutbox is the conclusion here.

I like the shoutbox a lot. It is a place where we can just have random conversations about what is happening at the moment.

If we would do that in a thread I am sure we would get a warning from one of the Mods or Admins about staying on topic.....

I'm a good old rebel, now that's just what I am.
I won't be reconstructed and I do not give a damn.

I don't post much, but the Shoutbox is great.

It allows conversations, which can not be held in threads, because of it being spamming. It is a great way to interact and learn more about people than having to post about the topic at hand.

Simple the Shoutbox = No topic at hand. While many will engage in a conversation with a topic, your free to talk about anything within the rules. Where as in a thread, it would be spam, and it is alot quicker and easier to reply in the shoutbox and talk to someone and "shoot the shit" instead of posting, waiting, and reloading the page. It is a big convenience and personally I think any message board is "naked" without one.

Yes, I think you said it well. No real need for us to make a thread where me, you Griff and Lemonz can discuss something that 99% of the rest of the people will never read nor respond. Maybe the game talk is a bit much but i do know with the whole spoilers thing I'm a bit hesistant to discuss wrestling in the SB.

We may review the spoilers to just stuff that isnt on live like say "Lost" and knowing that so and so died in the finale then people on the West Coast getting screwed.

Things on tape delay and different time zone starts are tough and unfair to dicusss in the box though IMO.
