So, some of you may have noticed that the shoutbox is gone, and we have a new chatroom setup.

Please use this thread to discuss, and if you have any questions on the use of the chatrooms, please post them here.

I know you can send files to people but I don't see an option for it anywhere, help me out a little?

Click on there name over on the right a drop down list will come down, pick send file

Why do you say that? Is it the look, the fact it's on a seperate page?

Personally, I believe that the fact it's on a seperate page makes it nicer because it doesn't clutter the forum home, and you can turn all the sounds off except when people either type, or enter a room, etc. There are so many more features that the shoutbox... Other than cosmetics, I don't know why it would be considered sub par to the SB.

Is it because SB users want to be able to scroll back and see what's been discussed earlier? I don't really know not being a massive SB user.

Or maybe it's the separate page thing?

Or maybe it's....oh I'm out of ideas!

I don't like the separate page thing or the fact that you can't see conversations that happened while you were off-line.

Well, GD brought up a good point about the fact that at work, it can obviously (possible and most like yes...) be detected as a chat chat room, where the SB is simple like a text messenger system with no indication that it's functioning like a chat.

Yeah, we may end up having to have both to appease everyone....I certainly don't want anyone to be unhappy about the removal of the Shoutbox.
