As you may have noticed, we have been working on the forum throughout the day. Here is what we have going on, and you are more than welcome to post your input.

Our primary focus at the time is, due to the sie that MonksDiner has become, the load time, and speed of the forum in general was becoming drastically slow. This was due to several issues. Modifications that were made / added to the forum some time ago that were not compatible with the latest vBulletin versions, and current browser versions. Image sizes... this includes signature pics, avatars, category icons, etc.

We have imported the MU database, however those forums are not available at the moment until we determine what we will keep, and what we won't.

As for forum skins, it is currently the thought of Dan, and Myself (We haven't seen / spoke with the other staff at this time) that we will offer several "styles" so that the members will have a choice as to what look they want for MonksDiner. Over the next few days to a week, we will scout out some very nice styles, add the modifications required, and then make them available to the members.

A revised set of forum rules will be created, and will address the avatar, sig text length, sig image sizes, etc. as well as general forum guidelines.

Currently, here are my personal thoughts on the above restrictions. I would like to get some input on these, but please remember, the following restrictions are to help increase the load time of the forums. If we go above the following guidelines, the forum will end up right were it was prior to these changes...

Avatar Image Size:



Dimensions: 150px x 150px
Image File Size: 120,000 bytes

Signature limits:

Maximum of three lines of text, Text Size not to exceed standard forum text size (2 pt)



Dimensions: 460px x 160 (If you need a signature pic resized, I'm sure if you make a request, someone will help you out with this)

Image File Size: 800,000 bytes (This is still very large, so if those of you with animated signature images know of a small size you can work within, please let me know.)

Ok, the new (old skin) has been cleaned up, and set as default. Registered members should now see Monks the way it used to be, staff may have to change thier style through the Admincp since they can see any style even when turned off.

Will the gamer cards be returning at all??

I don't believe so Mikk. What I've noticed in the past, is where ever the gamertags were being pulled from, sometimes they were not showing, or you would see a page not found error in that area. Any time we rely on another website to host or provide a image, our site becomes just a slow as it. Thus why we added image hosting... we don't need to rely on imageshack any longer and thier slow load times or missing images.

Sure your sig is fine, with the exception of only having one image. So you'll have to decide if you want the gamer tag, or the soccer goalie thingie.
