| Re: RJ Thinks: Showcase the X-DIVSION! But it isn't growing Tom.
It's been at the level it's at now for the past three years or so. Showcasing the vetrans as the top tier isn't working. When TNA put the X-Division at the forefront of it's shows, and booked it seriously, they grew. They grew from a tiny Nashville indy company, to a company on the verge of the big time. A two-hour weekly show, twelve PPV's a year, and a financial backer... And then they staled. They took Joe, AJ, and Daniels out of the X-Division, gave everyone else comedy gimmicks or put them in tag teams and essentially raped the division of any mainstream appeal it had.
The reason the X-Division segments get low ratings isn't because they are talented, it's because no one wants to see a guy dressed in the American flag get beat up by an Arab terrorist. It's not fun to watch. Daniels needs to un-mask Suicide. Lethal needs to drop the Macho schtick. Homicide needs to be pushed if he's gonna cash in his title shot. Bashir needs to drop the Arabian Nightmare gimmick and just be an Arab-American guy who you don't mess with, not cos he'll bomb your house but because he'll kick your ass.
The X-Division was the wave of the future back when TNA started, now it's their Light Heavyweight Division. It's a joke, but without it TNA are doomed. Angle's likely to return to WWE (or paralyse himself), Sting, Nash and Steiner are ready to retire, and Booker's credibility since joining th company has sank. Jarrett and Foley can't carry the company. Joe's star has faded, and is being further destroyed by his Nation Of Violence gimmick. Daniels isn't an established main eventer. Only AJ is left who hasn't been completely and utterly ruined by TNA, and even he has been tarnished by comedy heel routines and the inability to topple the MEM.
The future is bleak for TNA.
