1. Detroit Lions - Matthew Stafford, QB, Georgia
I do like this pick for Detroit. Mostly because they already have Culpepper. Culpepper should be a great short-term solution, so they can be absolutely sure that Stafford is ready when they put him in. He's got time to develop himself, and mature more before getting under center

2. St. Louis Rams - Jason Smith, OT, Baylor
Fills the void left by departed veteran Orlando Pace. I think they can grab a QB later and wait it out on BUlger.

3. Kansas City Chiefs - Tyson Jackson, DE, LSU
Holy unexpected, yet totally expected. In reality I do like Tyson Jackson, but not at #3. One dimensional DE's are a dime a dozen in the later rounds. Potential DPOY LBs are not a dime a dozen. Both filled needs though, so there's not much to complain about I suppose.

4. Seattle Seahawks - Aaron Curry, LB, Wake Forest
Best Player Available at #4, and fills the void left by Julian Peterson. Teaming next to Lofa Tatupu should be incredibly effective and be a solid player for years, and years to come.

5. New York Jets(from Cleveland) - Mark Sanchez, QB, USC
Great Job Jets, you have a QB, now who's he going to throw to?

6. Cincinnati Bengals - Andre Smith, OT, Alabama
Taking the third best OT(imo, of course) as the second OT, especially when I didn't have 2 and 3 that close, not what I like. And taking a guy who has work ethic issues in the top 10. Awesome job.

7. Oakland Raiders - Darius Heyward-Bey, WR, Maryland
What a great reach. First Jackson, now Heyward-Bey. While Jackson at least was projected as a Mid 1st round pick, Heyward-Bey was projected as late as mid-round 2!. With Crabtree STILL on the board, ohmygod


8. Jacksonville Jaguars - Eugene Monroe, OT, Virginia
Great pick, an OL that was decimated by injuries, but one of the guys who wasn't injured was Khalif Barnes, who surrended the third most sacks for an LT. A steal at eight especially considering the Bengals took Smith at 6.

9. Green Bay Packers - BJ Raji, DT, Boston College
You switch to the 3-4, and you get your prototype 3-4 DT, what's not to like? It wasn't the most pressing need on the DL, but I'd take Raji over Pickett who's in a contract year,and has never played in the 3-4.

10. San Fransisco 49ers - Michael Crabtree, WR, Texas Tech
Great pick, getting the second best player in the draft at number 10, and filling a huge need. There's almost nothing to not love about this pick

11. Buffalo Bills - Aaron Maybin, DE/OLB, Penn State
Highly athletic, but weight concerns might make him more of a RLB instead of a DE. And unfortunately the Bills REALLY needed a guy to play opposite of Schobel to make that pass rush more effective. Maybin is definitely an improvement though

12. Denver Broncos - Knowshon Moreno, HB, Georgia
.................................ok then. You're defense was the biggest achilles heel, and with one of the top defensive players on the board you go to HB. Makes perfect sense

13. Washington Redskins - Brian Orakpo, DE, Texas
Interesting, not really a need(like OT is) but a good player nonetheless. Defense was one of their strengths last year, and now it's getting stronger, not bad, but not really the guy you thought would be there.

14. New Orleans Saints - Malcolm Jenkins, CB, Ohio State
Arguably the best CB in the draft goes to the team with the biggest need at CB.

15. Houston Texans - Brian Cushing, OLB, USC
I don't understand how Cushing got this high. Apparently being incredibly average is now a good thing in the first round. I would've gone with Ayers to complete the DL

16. San Diego Chargers - Larry English, DE/OLB, Northern Illinois
I love English, but SD? That's going to be one nasty pass rush if you can get English and Merriman on the field at the same time. I would've gone Eben Britton or Oher personally.

17. Tampa Bay Buccaneers(from NYJ via CLE) - Josh Freeman, QB, Kansas State
Nice pick, but with so many QBs already couldn't getting the future have waited? They're changing defenses, and need new personnel but I guess that's not high on the priority list for Raheem Morris

18. Denver Broncos(from CHI) - Robert Ayers, DE, Tennessee
Love the pick. Kind of makes up for them fucking up their early pick, but you could've had Orakpo and Moreno.

19. Philadelphia Eagles(from CLE) - Jeremy Maclin, WR, Missouri
Ok, you now have two good deep threats, and two OT's that gave up 21 sacks last year, wait, did I miss something?

20. Detroit Lions - Brandon Pettigrew, TE, Oklahoma State
Oher, Britton, Beatty, almost any defensive player, Pettigrew is great and all but, jeez.

21. Cleveland Browns - Alex Mack, C, California
I love the kid, but it just seems so lackluster. Cleveland has a lot of work to do, and I suppose this is a start. I thought Mack would be there later, maybe they should've traded down again

22. Minnesota Vikings - Percy Harvin, WR, Florida
........... The search for a new head coach begins

23. Baltimore Ravens - Michael Oher, OT, Ole Miss
A steal if there ever was one. A great pick, and it's unbelievable he's still available.

24. Atlanta Falcons - Peria Jerry, DT, Ole Miss
Fills one of many voids left on that defense after it was hit by Free Agency

25. Miami Dolphins - Vontae Davis, CB, Illinois
Good Pick

26. Green Bay Packers(from BAL via NE) - Clay Matthews, OLB, USC
I don't mind the pick, but I think they gave up too much in the process. Hopefully it pans out though

27. Indianapolis Colts - Donald Brown, HB, UConn
I def. like this pick, but I'm not sure I love it really. They needed someone behind Addai, or to share with Addai badly, and they got him, I don't know if Brown is going to be that good though.

28. Buffalo Bills(from PHI) - Eric Wood, C, Louisville
A second round prospect in the first is usually a big no-no. I'm not thrilled with this pick, but it could be worse. Let's hope he turns out better than the last late-first rounder the Bills had (John McCargo)

29. New York Giants - Hakeem Nicks, WR, UNC
Obviously a need pick with the release of Plaxico Burress. It'll be interesting to see if Nicks pans out. I wasn't high on him because he had a tendency to disappear. He also seemed rather lackadasical on running plays, not exactly something that would go over well in NY. Also, he's coming in with high expectations having to fill in for Plax.

30. Tennessee Titans - Kenny Britt, WR, Rutgers
Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh, for the first time since the Kevin Dyson disaster, Fisher takes a first round WR. I don't know how much he'll improve them immediately, but he is an upgrade for the future, whenever that is for the Titans

31. Arizona Cardinals - Chris Wells, HB, Ohio State
Obvious pick was obvious. With Edge and Arrington gone, HB was a huge need. Wells should be decent with a dance partner.

32. Pittsburgh Steelers - Evander Hood, DT, Missouri
A real nice replacement in the future for Casey Hampton, however I have a feeling everytime Roethlisberger is on his back he'll be muttering to himself "Evander f'n Hood"
