Wwe Monday Night Raw 1/5/09
Live From Melon Arena in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania

We start the show with a promo of Monday Night Raw's very first episode and the fireworks show and Jerry Lawler and Michael Cole welcome us to the show.
Michael: Welcome to Monday Night Raw live from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, but in 20 days our first pay-per-view the Royal Rumble begins.
Jerry: And tonight we will see a Intercontinental Title match between Rey Mysterio and Chris Jericho.
Michael: Were about to kick off our first match ever on Monday Night Raw.

Kane Vs Shawn Michaels (Royal Rumble Qualifying Match)
We begin the match with Shawn slapping Kane in the face. There were alot of cheers after HBK's slap. Kane then smiled and attacked Michaels. He sends Michaels in to the turnbuckle and hits him with an uppercut. Kane then has him inside of a headlock. The fans are clapping to get HBK some momentum. HBK hits Kane with a big boot. He then goes for a pin attempt, 1..2.. and Kane kicks out at 2. HBK then hits a flying forearm on the "Big Red Machine". He then throws Kane to the outside of the ring. Shawn goes airborne and hits Kane with a moonsault off the top turnbuckle. HBK tries to hit Kane with the superkick but Kane dunks underneath and HBK hits his leg aganist the turnbuckle. Kane sends HBK back inside the ring and goes for a pin attempt. 1..2.. and Michaels kicks out. Kane tries to go for a chokeslam but Michaels counters and hits Kane with Sweet Chin Music. Michaels pins Kane, 1..2..and Kane kicks out. Kane then sits up and hits HBK with a chokeslam. Michaels is being pinned by Kane, 1..2.. and Michaels gets the shoulder up Michaels then hits a series of flying forearms. Followed by a elbow drop from the turnbuckle. Shawn then tunes up the band and hits Sweet Chin Music on Kane. Shawn then gets the 1..2..3 count on Kane.
Winner by pinfall Shawn Michaels (10:45)

We go backstage where we see Randy Orton with Legacy
Orton: I can't believe it! Orton then throws a water bottle on the ground
Rhodes: What wrong Randy
Orton: I lost a match last week aganist Batista, now thanks to him I can't be in the Royal Rumble match. Orton then sighs
DiBiase: Well next week, were in a six man tag match aganist Rey Mysterio, Batista and Cm Punk.
Orton: That may be true, but tonight I want my rematch aganist Batista and if I win, I get to be in the Rumble Match.
Vince McMahon appears
Vince: Well Orton, if you want that match, ill grant it to you. So tonight, we'll see Batista vs Randy Orton, in a No Holds Barred Match!
Orton: Yes! Thanks Vince
Batista then appears
Batista: Well since you wanna face me so badly, bring it on!
Orton then pushes Batista

Commercial break

Michael: Wow, what a match for tonight King
Jerry: That seems very exciting, now if only I can get in the Rumble match.
Michael: I don't think Vince will allow you to
Jerry: Aww man

Rey Mysterio (c) Vs Chris Jericho (Intercontinental Title Match)
We begin the match with a staredown between both men. Mysterio then hits a series of kicks on Jericho, but he doesn't go down. Jerchio then irish whips Mysterio into the ropes followed by a drop kick. Jericho then goes for a pin attempt. 1.. and Mysterio kicks out at 1. Jericho then picks up Mysterio then throws him outside the ring. He places Mysterio on top of the Spanish announce table. Jericho then hits a lion sault from the top turnbuckle through the table on Rey Mysterio. There is a series of boos coming from the audiance. Jericho then places Rey and the ring and goes for a pin. 1..2.. and Rey kicks out at 2. Mysterio then does a hurricarana on Jericho and has him positioned for a 619. Mysterio goes for it but is blocked my Jericho. Then its followed by a Codebreaker. Jericho then goes for the pin. 1..2.. and Rey gets his foot on the ropes. Rey then manages to get to his feet. He then hits Jericho with a dropkick followed by
a moonsault from the top turnbuckle. Rey then goes for the pin on Jericho. 1..2.. and Jericho kicks out. Jericho then tries to go for the Walls Of Jericho before he gets rolled up by Mysterio. 1..2.. and Jericho kicked out. Rey then gets Jericho set up for the 619 again and this time, he hits it. He goes to the top turnbuckle and hits the Droppin the Dime on Jericho. Rey then goes for a pin attempt. 1..2.. and then JBL from out of no where hits Rey with a steel chair and Jericho gets DQ. JBL then picks up Rey and hits with with the Clothesline. JBL then picks up a mic as Jericho walks away. JBL: Rey, you thought I was gonna walk away, well guess wrong! I want my rematch for the Intercontinental Title next week on Raw. The fans boos JBL real loud.
Winner by DQ and still Intercontinental Champion Rey Mysterio

Backstage interview with World Champion John Cena
Stephanie McMahon: Tell us John, who will you be facing at the RR for the World Heavyweight Championship
John: Well, I don't know that Stephanie. Well have to wait in 2 weeks for a 8 man battle royal to see who I'll face.
Cm Punk walks up to Cena and comfronts him
Cm Punk: Well Cena, it could be me that you face at the RR for the World Title.
John: I'll not be supprised if its you I face.
Punk: Who knows it could either by Randy Orton, Batista Shawn Michaels or someone else.
Cena: Well whoever that is, I'll go through anything to retain that world title.

Michael: Wow, in 2 weeks well have a battle royal to determin who will face John Cena at the Royal Rumble in 20 days.

Jerry; Like Cena said, I woudn't be supprised if it is Cm Punk.

Commercial Break

Vickie Guerrero comes to the ring to make a special annoucement
Vickie: Excuse me!
Boos continue and get louder
Vickie: I said excuse me!
Boos keep going
Vickie: Well, at the royal rumble, the're will be a guest entry, and he will be coming out of retirement.
The crowd cheers
Vickie: We will not reveal who it until he enters in the royal rumble. Now, thank you and enjoy the main event.

Main Event: Randy Orton Vs Batista in a No Holds Barred Match (Royal Rumble Qualification Match)

We begin the match with Orton spiting in Batista's face. He then gets really angry and hits him with a clothesline. Batista then Orton to the outside of the ring. He then tries to hit a running bulldog to him on the outside of the ring, but Orton counters and throws Batista over the baricade and into the crowd. The 2 men start to brawl in the audiance. The fans have a mixed reaction over it. Orton then finds a chair on the ground and hits Batista outside of the head with it. Randy then throws Batista back to the outside of the ring. Batista manages to get up before getting drop kicked in the face by Orton. Orton pushes Batista back into the ring and grabs 2 steel chairs. Batista then blocks one of the chair shots and hits Orton with a spear. Batista then picks Orton back up and hits Randy with a spinebuster through the steel chair. Batista then goes for a pin attempt on the hurt Orton. 1..2.. and Orton then kicks out. Batista then clotheslines Orton over the top rope and lands on the arena floor. Batista then graps one of the steel chairs and heads to the outside of the ring. Batista then hits Orton outside the head with a steel chair. Batista then picks up Orton before getting hit with a low blow. Randy sends Batista back into the ring. Orton then grabs a table and sets it up in the ring. Orton tries to hit Batista with the ring bell he took from the outside of the ring. Batista then blocks it and hits a spinebuster to Orton. Batista tries to hit a Batista Bomb on Orton through the table before Legacy comes out and attacks Batista from up behind. Rhodes hits a DDT on Batista followed by a swinging neckbreaker from DiBiase. They place Batista on the top turnbuckle and Orton hits an RKO to Batista off the turnbuckle and through the table. Orton then goes for a pin attempt on Batista. 1..2..3 and Orton gains a Royal Rumble Match spot. Legacy continues to beat down on Batista before Cm Punk comes out and makes the save. Cm Punk throws Rhodes and DiBiase over the top rope. Punk then turns around and gets hit with an RKO. Orton then does his signature pose as Raw goes off the air.
