Houston, Texas
Yes sir, we promised you...
A huge video recap of last night’s Wrestlemania, including Christian’s MITB win, Jericho’s defeat by the legends, Taker defeating HBK, Cena winning the World Title and Orton winning the WWE title.
No opening pyro as the NEW WWE Champion Randy Orton comes out in his legacy t-shirt to a huge mixed ovation, obviously some people are pleased he beat HHH last night. He samples the crowd before introducing himself:
“My name is Randy Orton....and I am the NEW WWE Champion!”
He runs through last night, telling us how he outsmarted HHH, and that no matter what he nor any of the McMahons could do, he still defied them, he still beat them and became champion. He says he has fulfilled his destiny, he has got revenge for what HHH did to him, and he is the most powerful entity in the WWE. He says nobody can stop the Age of Orton, and last night proved it. He says he is the best, better than HHH in every...
...HHH’s music hits to a huge pop. He also comes out in his own t-shirt. He gets on the mic from the top of the ramp. He says he’s not here to play games, he’s not here to congratulate Orton, because Orton didn’t deserve it, he was lucky. HHH said Orton knew he got lucky because he ran scared, away through the crowd, because he’s a coward. HHH starts walking down the ramp to the ring. HHH tells Orton he means business, that Orton has taken another piece of what he is, and HHH wants it back.
HHH tells Orton that he will get revenge, because he is using his rematch clause, and this time Orton won’t escape. He tells Orton that he offered Vince a proposal last night, that was that Orton would defend his WWE Championship at Backlash, against HHH, in a rematch, inside a Steel Cage. Orton looks down and shakes his head. HHH says that’s not all, because he also suggested that to make it a “fair” bout, that there be a Special Guest Referee. He points back up to the stage...
...Batista’s music hits!
Orton looks stunned. Batista asks Orton how his lackeys are. Orton, enraged, tells him they are in a hospital bed after what they did to them last night, an unprovoked, brutal assault for no reason. HHH retorts “what comes around, goes around”. HHH goes to leave, but says that there’s 1 more thing, tonight seeing as Orton is facing him in a few weeks, he needs to keep nice and fresh for their match so he has no excuses when HHH destroys him. So tonight, Orton will have a match, It will be him versus Batista, HHH and...Shane McMahon, in an No Holds Barred 3 on 1 Handicap match. HHH leaves and walks up the ramp to Batista, and Steph comes out and they all hug as Orton looks on in the ring completely shocked at what’s happening.
We get confirmation of that match plus an address by HBK.

Beth Phoenix is making her way to the ring to face Kelly Kelly. Cole tells us that as Beth won the 25-Diva Battle Royal last night, she has been made as a reward the number 1 contender to the Women’s Championship, and she will face Melina 1-on-1 at Backlash.
Match 1: “Miss Wrestlemania” Beth Phoenix v Kelly Kelly.
A short match with Beth dominated, showing of a variety of moves including a missile dropkick, a spine buster and a gut wrench suplex. However as she set Kelly up for the Glam Slam, Melina’s music hit, and Beth loosened the hold, and Kelly managed to roll her up for the 3 count.
Winner-Kelly Kelly.
After the match Beth was furious as Melina appeared at the top of the stage, hugged Kelly and showed off her Women’s Championship to the crowd.
Backstage HBK is shown coming to the ring.

We’re back and HBK’s music hits, he walks down to the ring with an expressionless face. He gets on the mic and congratulates Taker for beating him last night, in what will go down as one of the greatest main events in Wrestlemania history. However he tells us that although Taker won, he was fortunate, and that wasn’t a conclusive victory. HBK says he knows he can beat The Undertaker, so he’s challenging Taker to a rematch at Backlash. He asks if Taker is scared, because he knew he got lucky last night. HBK says the streak may go on, but that Taker still has a lot to prove to everyone.
The gong hits. Taker’s voice comes over the tannoy. He says that the jealousy in HBK is clouding his judgement. HBK is so obsessed with trying to beat The Undertaker that he doesn’t realise that he’s getting further and further away from doing it. Taker says he will teach HBK a lesson in respect, starting at Backlash, because if Wrestlemania wasn’t enough, then he will make sure HBK is punished, sent to the fiery depths of hell, to rest in peace.
The Undertaker’s music hits as HBK stands in the ring, in thought, as we go to commercial.

We’re back with CM Punk ready in the ring for a match.
Christian’s music hits, he comes down to a great ovation with his MITB briefcase, we get still pictures of how he won last night.
Match 2: MITB Winner Christian v CM Punk
After a decent back and forth match, of about 10 minute length, CM Punk picked up Christian for a GTS, but Christian rolled it through into an Unprettier, but Punk pushed him away in the turnbuckle. Then Shelton Benjamin comes down and jumps CM Punk, before MVP enters from the crowd and attacks Shelton, and the four of them brawl in the ring before Kane’s pyro hits, then the weird “I am your worst nightmare” promo plays, before the lights go out, and Kane appears in the ring, and choke slams all 4 of them, and leaves, seemingly tormented by what’s going on. Cole wonders what’s happening with Kane, Lawler says he doesn’t know, but he’s worried.
Winner-CM Punk via DQ.
Backstage Todd Grisham is with Chris Jericho, who’s in a suit with a few plasters and bruises on his face. Todd asks how Chris is feeling after last night. Chris snatches the mic, and asks Todd how does he think he feels. He says he was humiliated by a bunch of has-beens who cheated their way to a fraudulent victory, and that in hindsight it proved his point, he let them have their pathetic, little moment in the limelight with all these parasitic hypocrites cheering them because it proved to him that he was better than all of them, and it proved to the world that he is. Y2J walks away.

We’re back with HHH taping up for tonight, Batista comes in. HHH says thanks for distracting him last night and costing him the belt. Batista gets angry and says he helped HHH by stopping Rhodes, it wasn’t his fault HHH can’t hit a pedigree. They stare at each other momentarily, before HHH says that tonight they can get revenge, beat Orton to a pulp, then go to Backlash, win HHH the title, and end Orton. He asks Batista for re-assurance that that’s what he wants. Batista cuts back after seemingly day-dreaming, and says “yeah....yeah we’ll do it”, before walking off, HHH looking on worried.
Back in the arena we get Rey and Evan Bourne coming down for a match. 8-man tag next!
12 Rounds promo.
Match 3: 8-Man Tag-Undisputed Tag Team Champions The Colons© & Evan Bourne & Rey Mysterio v John Morrison & The Miz & Mike Knox & Vladimir Kozlov
A back and forth match with Knox & Kozlov dominating Rey. However Rey got a hurricanrana and got the tag to Carlito, who took down Miz who tagged in, then Morrison over the top rope, before Knox attacked him, but Primo jumped on him and sent them both over the ropes!. Kozlov tried to attack Carlito, but Rey plancha’d him out of the ring. It came down to Miz and Carlito, Miz irish whipped Carlito into his corner, Evan got the blind tag. Miz went to suplex Carlito, but got caught with one himself. Evan climbed up top, hit a Shooting Star Press, and covered for the win.
Winners-The Colons & Rey Mysterio & Evan Bourne.
Backlash promo-”Revenge is destiny.”
We’re with John Cena, who has the World Heavyweight Championship, and is chatting away backstage with Mickie James. Edge comes on camera. He “congratulates” Cena on winning last night, but that he’s delivering a warning to him. He’s invoked his rematch clause, for next week on RAW, Cena v Edge for the World Heavyweight Championship, and the winner also gets 2 draft picks for his brand. Edge leaves and Cena sighs.
Voices echo’s throughout the arena as Randy Orton comes out alone for the main event.
He’s followed by Batista, Shane O’Mac and finally HHH.
Main Event: No Holds Barred 3 on 1 Handicap Match-WWE Champion Randy Orton© v HHH & Batista & Shane McMahon
Orton just got disected for the whole match, he kept trying to fight back, but was destroyed by Batista and HHH. Shane McMahon then hit the West Coast Pop, Batista hit a Batista Bomb through a table, Orton by this point was a bloody mess, before HHH pedigreed him onto a chair. He covered for the win in a 1-sided domination. Deja vu?
Winners-HHH, Batista & Shane McMahon.
After the match HHH took the title and posed over Orton, whilst Batista stared at it, and they caught each other’s glance. Batista then mouths “that will be mine”, before leaving, and Stephanie comes down to meet HHH on the ramp and they embrace as Orton is left battered and blooded in the corner as the show goes off the air. |
