BACKSTORY
ZENJO pro-wrestling, is a woman's professional wrestling promotion based in Japan, owned and operated by Akira Hokuto as a branch-off from Kensuke Office.
Whilst other Joshi Puroresu promotions create a divide with their product and mainstream American female wrestling through the depiction of women in a non-sexualised way, Akira bridged this gap, acknowledging, embracing and exploiting the draw that comes with American "Knockouts", whilst also retaining many of the aspects that make Joshi Puroresu popular.
