No offence to Mity1 but I think that anyone who believes the theory that Trips is keeping the belt so he can drop it in a huge fashion at Wrestlemania is kidding themselves. WWE went from planning to put Trips vs. Goldberg in the main event, to an Elimination chamber. Trips was hurt they say? Fair enough, so someone want to tell me why in three weeks we went from Zack vs. Hardy at Summer Slam, to an announced Zack vs. Lesnar Smackdown match with Vince as ref, to it being taken off two days before, to it being added THAT day without the special referee stipulation, to Zack getting “injured” at the match causing the match between Hardy and Matt to be taken off the card after weeks of hyping it.

Want more examples of WWE’s long term planning, they give Gail Kim the woman’s title, then they have her drop it a month later to Molly Holly, someone they weren’t even pushing before that after jobbing her to Kim two weeks earlier, because they just THEN decided it was a bad idea. Oh and there is Evolution, it will be Trips, Orton, Flair, Batista, and Ryno. No wait… forget Rhyno. Oh Batista is hurt? OK they will add Mark Jindrak as the third guy, they will film the vignette’s with him, they will announce they are planning to add a fourth member. No never mind they will NOT make Mark Jindrak the fourth guy, they will put him in a gimickless tag-team with Garrison Cade. What were they going to do with Cade back when they thought Jindrak would be in Evolution. No one know’s… Really… NO ONE, NOT WWE, NOT ANYONE KNOWS. So is Batista still in Evolution when he comes back since no one else joined? Why do I have a funny feeling with him set to come back any time now that is STILL! Up in the air.

And then there is the announcement at last months Smackdown only PPV that Velocity will be on Sunday in Heat’s slot to hype the PPV. Then come Sunday they decide to run Heat anyway and just have Smackdown “take it over.” I guess they were still not sure until the last minute what they were going to do about the pre-hype show huh. That is understandable, I mean hey, at the time they only had TWO MONTHS to figure it out.

Ok, I will stop rambling now. My point, and I do have one, is that I don’t belive in any way shape or form that the plan is to have Trips be an unbeatable heel until Wrestlemania to hype it up, because I don’t think WWE still knows what the main event will be for Tomorrow’s Raw at this point, much less what will go on in what, 8 months from now? No way no how, WWE does not plan that far in advance and I am not speaking from the point of view of reading dirt sheets that tell me that. Like most, all be it not all, of the examples above I am saying that because it is obscenely obvious to anyone who watches TV they are making this up as they go along.

Even if they really are doing this to set up for a big loss at Wrestlemania (I would bet my life that is not the case but I will theorize. Trips will probably still have the belt by then current plan or not, and it is sad I really believe that without any hesitation.), even if they do have Trips lose the title at Wrestlemania to a face Jerrico, Goldberg, Booker T, RVD, A face Orton, Hurricane, Garrison Cade, Maven, Jim Ross, Lita, the man on the moon, whoever. Even if they do have whoever the top face is thwart the evil Trips plans it won’t help Wrestlemania because no one believes he will lose it now.

We have seen face after face pushed as the guy who can finally punk out Triple H and he ALWAYS overcomes the odds and beats them, including the last Wrestlemania. It is the story about the boy who cried Wolf, they can’t spend over a year proving with everyone they can that the evil Triple H can beat anyone and everyone, and then expect people to actually buy Wrestlemania under the guise that Triple H can beat him. Sure, it will be huge the next day but it will do nothing to help them make money at Wrestlemania because no one who had been paying attention will really think that he is going to lose now when he hasn’t lost in a year and a half (which if he holds it until Wrestlemania it will be.)

Never mind this isn’t the 80’s where Wrestlemania is the only big show, and it wouldn’t make since to slowly turn off fans to believing their hero will reign supreme in all of the PPV main event’s between them, when he hasn’t. So unless the plan is to cost themselves PPV buys with each PPV Trips wins, train the fans to believe there is NO WAY he will win Wrestlemania and therefore not buy the PPV for that reason (sure, it will still get a lot of buys but almost none of them will buy it simply because they think Trips will actually lose) and then hope when the word gets around the following night after he loses it will generates enough interest to make up all the money they lost getting there.

That is a big gamble and for a company that doesn’t have the guts to stick to their game plans in two months time (you know, like the one where they hired Goldberg to win the belt from Trips a couple months after his signing.) I really don’t see how this is all setup for Trips to drop the belt at Maina.

No… Trips has the belt now and has all this time because.

1.) Vince and Co. just don’t have the stones to take a chance pushing someone else to the top.
2.) Trips is sleeping with the bosses daughter.
3.) They truly don’t realize that by lining faces up and having Trips knock them down no one will EVER be credible enough to take the belt away.

I can guess which one most people think it is. No matter why I think WWE is making a huge mistage keeping the belt on Trips after all this time and they either don’t realize it, or realize it and aren’t doing what deep down they know has to be done. IE getting the belt of trips.
