Tony Schiavone and Bobby Heenan are the commentators for this edition of Nitro.
- They hype up Goldberg/Booker T and Flair/Nash.
- Tony also mentions that tonight Eric Bischoff and Roddy Piper will have a sit down discussion over what Piper did.
- Heenan brings up the last match to gain entrance into the fatal four way for the vacant WCW Cruiserweight Championship at Souled Out.
- With that, Schiavone sends it to Penzer for the beginning of WCW action.

Billy Kidman defeated AJ Styles in 8:22 to earn the fourth and final spot to compete for the Cruiserweight Title at Souled Out.

- Styles sends Kidman into the ropes, but Kidman springboards off the ropes and takes Styles down with a bulldog.
- Kidman with several right hands and dropkicks Styles into a corner. Kidman places Styles on the top turnbuckle and attempts a hurricanrana. However, Styles shoves him off.
- Styles gains footing and connects with a crisp cross body for a near fall.
- Kidman gets up and is met with a discus clothesline from Styles for another near fall.
- Kidman is holding his chest and Styles continues his offense with a running swinging neck breaker.
- Styles pulls Kidman up and goes for a vertical suplex but turns into a reverse neck breaker. Styles with another near fall.
- Styles attempts a springboard missile dropkick, but Kidman manages to avoid the move. Kidman grabs Styles and connects with a sit out spine buster.
- Kidman goes to pull Styles up but Styles attempts a kip up hurricanrana. However, Kidman manages to deliver a kick right to Styles’s head.
- Kidman ducks a wild clothesline and delivers the Kid Krusher. Kidman goes to the top rope and connects with the picture perfect shooting star press for the win.
- Replay of the win.

Eric Bischoff is already in the ring and calls out Roddy Piper.
- Piper comes out to a mixed reaction, but he doesn’t care. He has a dejected look on his face.
- Piper enters the ring and looks up at Bischoff who was a very serious look on his face.
- Bischoff says that he is extremely disappointed in what Piper did at StarrCade.
- Bischoff says that he doesn’t care if he wasn’t under contract with WCW at the time but he does care for that that WCW is his creation. He was the man that brought WCW to the depths of great success.
- Bischoff says that he will not allow someone like Piper try to ruin it. He wants to know why did Piper screw over Goldberg.
- The crowd can be heard asking “Why?” as Piper grabs Bischoff’s microphone.
- Piper says that everyone has been asking him that same question and he is sick of it.
- He says he didn’t do it for Bret Hart, he didn’t do it end WCW personally. He did it for the man who wants to sabotage WCW.
- Bischoff has a confused look.
- Piper says that the man that wanted him to screw over Goldberg is a man who is looking out for the veterans. Something Bischoff has forgotten.
- “Without Hogan, Flair, myself and the N.W.O., you would just be some ice fishing geek.” Piper says that he doesn’t believe the young guys are ready to have the keys to the car.
- But he can see that they (the veterans) will soon be pushed aside. There is one man who knows what’s right for the business.
- That man, is none other than… Vince Russo!
- Bischoff goes nuts. “Your telling me Piper you ruined what should have been a great main event at our biggest show of the year, for the jackass Vince Russo? Your telling me that Russo wants to ruin my creation?”
- Piper now has a smirk on his face. “He is going to do it, with your own guys you made. The same guys you brought in. The same guys who won the battle against the WWF for 84 weeks.”
- Piper tells Bischoff he is going to regret not being grateful.
- Piper drops the microphone as Bischoff is left in the ring scratching his head.

Faces of Fear defeated XS, Kronik, and the Mamalukes in 10:59 in a elimination match to win the vacant WCW World Tag Team Championships.
- XS is eliminated three minutes into the contest when Idol submits to the Tongan death grip.
- Mamalukes where eliminated six minutes into the match when Bull was pinned following the High Time by Kronik.
- This leaves just the Faces of Fear and Kronik. All four men go at it trading right hands. Adams clotheslines Barbarian over the top to the floor.
- Meng with several right hands on Clarke in the corner. Meng charges to the corner but runs into a big boot. Clarke takes Meng down with a clothesline.
- Barbarian plants Adams with a pile driver on the floor! Barbarian rolls into the ring and works on Clarke.
- Clarke is sent into the ropes but takes both FOF members down with a double DDT. Meng gets right up and takes Clarke down with a savant kick.
- Meng grabs Clarke an connects with a running power slam. Barbarian is on the top turnbuckle and connects with a diving head butt.
- Adams tries to get back into the ring but is still hurting from the pile driver on the floor. Meng goes for the cover and pins Clarke to win the match and titles!
- Replay of the win.

Gene is backstage with Buff Bagwell who is grinning and showcasing his abs.
- Gene quickly mentions that Bagwell has accepted a “no rules” match with Raven at Souled Out.
- Bagwell tells Gene that Raven doesn’t realize that he may be the guy who gloats and only care about his body. But when he enters the squared circle he is all about kicking some ass.
- Bagwell says that Raven will forever regret making their match no rules. Bagwell claims to have a very creative mind for punishment and Raven will feel it at Souled Out.
- Bagwell walks off as WCW goes to break.

Raven defeated Hugh Morrus in 5:47

- Raven quickly goes to work on Morrus with rapid rights and lefts to the back and midsection. Raven sends Morrus into the ropes and delivers a high knee.
- Raven grabs Morrus but Morrus delivers a short arm clothesline followed by a side slam. Morrus gets a near fall.
- Raven battles back and takes Morrus down with a back suplex. Morrus gets up and Raven takes him back down with a running knee to the side of the head.
- Morrus manages to fight out of a DDT attempt by taking Raven down with a spine buster. Morrus signals for the moonsault and makes his way to the top turnbuckle.
- Raven crotches Morrus on the top turnbuckle and connects with a back suplex off the middle rope.
- Morrus slowly gets up and is planted with the DDT by Raven. Raven goes for the cover and gets the three.
- Replay of the win.

Gene is backstage with Psycho Sid Vicious.
- Gene asks Sid for his take on Eddie Guerrero and Booker T trying to make a name for themselves.
- Sid remembers the days when he was a young man trying to make a name for himself. He also remembers not just whining and complaining.
- He went out and beat guys up and made them take notice. That’s how he became a star, that is how the guys in the back began to respect him.
- Gene asks Sid if he supports them. Sid shakes his head and says that he supports himself and the guys who help make his career.
- Sid looks and Gene and looks at the camera and says “we all know who that is.”
- Sid walks off as Gene appears to be trying to think of the answer.

Jeff Jarrett defeated Dean Malenko in 12:03 to retain the WCW United States Championship
- Jarrett gets right into Malenko’s face and even squats to get to his eye level. Malenko with a slap to Jarrett’s face and delivers a dropkick to the knee.
- Malenko comes off the ropes and connects with a leg lariat. Malenko grabs the stumbling Jarrett and connects with a atomic drop.
- Jarrett walks right into a right hand followed by a boot. Malenko with a backbreaker. Malenko with a near fall.
- Malenko sends Jarrett into the corner and charges but is met with a big boot. Jarrett leaps off the middle turnbuckle and takes Malenko down with a double axe handle.
- Jarrett taunts the crowd with his stroke. He doesn’t realize that Malenko has gotten up. Malenko with a double leg takedown and goes for the Texas Cloverleaf but Jarrett reaches the ropes.
- Jarrett rolls to the floor pointing to his head showcasing brilliance. Jarrett turns around and is met with a baseball slide.
- Malenko sends Jarrett into the guard railing on the floor. Jarrett stumbles out and Malenko backdrops Jarrett on the floor!
- Malenko sends Jarrett back into the ring. Malenko rolls in but Jarrett delivers a few boots. Jarrett with a snap suplex.
- Jarrett sends Malenko into the ropes and connects with a power slam. Jarrett quickly pulls Malenko up and connects with a snap suplex.
- Jarrett goes to the top rope and connects with a top rope fist drop. Jarrett goes for the cover, but Malenko kicks out.
- Jarrett with a shin breaker on Malenko and goes for the figure four but Malenko kicks Jarrett into a corner and takes Jarrett down with a back suplex.
- Malenko has Jarrett set up for a brain buster, but Jarrett reverses and connects with The Stroke. Jarrett goes for cover and picks up the win.
- After the match, Jarrett holds his United States championship over and calls out Benoit. Saying “I beat your friend Malenko, and I will beat you slap nut”
- As Jarrett heads to the backstage area, Scott Steiner music hits and Jarrett goes for a high five, but Steiner simply blows him off, yet again.
- Steiner heads to the ring for the next match.

Scott Steiner defeated Konnan in 6:19

- Steiner quickly attacks Konnan with several overhand shots to Konnan’s back. Steiner with a belly to belly suplex.
- Steiner continues his offense with a military press slam and gets a near fall. Konnan manages to duck a clothesline and knocks Steiner down with a rolling thunder lariat.
- Konnan with a scoop slam. Steiner quickly gets up and takes Konnan down with a overhead belly to belly suplex.
- Steiner pulls Konnan up and takes Konnan down with a exploder suplex.
- Steiner grabs Konnan and has him in a vertical suplex position. However, in midair connects with the Steiner Screwdriver! The crowd is shocked by that move.
- Steiner locks in the Steiner Recliner as if it was needed. Konnan is passed out. Steiner wins.
- Replay of the win.

Gene is backstage with a clearly banged up Ric Flair.
- Gene asks how Flair is managing to compete tonight after such a vicious attack during the tag team match on Thunder.
- Flair says that no matter how hurt he may be there is nothing in this world that will keep him out of the ring. Especially the low life Kevin Nash and the abnormally large freak Scott Steiner.
- Flair says that unlike Nash, wrestling is his life. He doesn’t stay at home because he stubbed his foot, or because he has a ingrown toe nail.
- Flair is all about working through everything and anything put in his way. Tonight, he will take care of the “Big Wimp” in a few moments.
- Flair lets out a big WOO before leaving the scene.

Goldberg defeated Booker T in 11:45 following distraction from Scott Hall
- Goldberg gets right into Booker’s face but Booker will not back down. Booker delivers the first several right hands.
- Goldberg rams Booker shoulder first into a corner. Goldberg with several shoulder blocks in the corner. Goldberg sends Booker across the ring and charges but Booker takes Goldberg down with a leaping sidekick.
- Booker with several boots and sends Goldberg into ropes and delivers a boot to Goldberg’s midsection. Booker comes off the ropes looking for the scissors kick but Goldberg avoids and nails Booker with a super kick.
- Goldberg with several right hands in the corner. Goldberg brings Booker to the center of the ring and connects with a double under hook.
- Goldberg gets ready for the spear in the corner. Booker gets up and Goldberg charges, but Booker manages to leapfrog over Goldberg and Goldberg goes hard shoulder first into the corner.
- Goldberg is hunched over and Booker comes off the ropes connecting with the scissors kick. Booker goes for the cover but Goldberg kicks out.
- Booker pulls Goldberg up and delivers a arm twist followed by a hook kick. Goldberg stumbles into a corner and is trying to shake the cob webs out.
- Booker with several right hands in the corner. Booker hooks Goldberg up and uses all of his strength to connect with a vertical suplex.
- Booker with the Spinarooni and is ready to seal the deal. However, Scott Hall comes down to the ring and gets Booker attention.
- Booker shouts at Hall but Hall is obviously just ignoring him. Booker turns around and is speared by Goldberg.
- Hall is laughing his ass off. Goldberg sets Booker up and connects with the Jackhammer.
- Goldberg goes for the cover and picks up the win.
- After the match, Goldberg celebrates the win, but Scott Hall runs down and delivers a few boots to Booker T.
- Goldberg notices this and takes Hall down with a spear and jackhammer as the crowd goes nuts.
- Replay of the win and what happened afterwards.

Ric Flair fought Kevin Nash to a No Contest in 7:02 following interference from Scott Steiner and Sting..

- Flair and Nash trade a series of rights and chops. Nash sends Flair into the ropes and connects with a side slam. Flair is hurting already.
- Nash sends Flair into the corner and he does the Flair flip. Nash knocks Flair off the apron with a big boot. Flair crashes into the guard railing.
- Nash with a snake eyes on the guard railing before sending Flair back into the ring. Nash has a smirk as he knows he can finish off Flair at anytime. Considering Flair is not 100%.
- Nash lifts Flair up and connects with a one arm backbreaker. Nash goes for the cover and Flair kicks out at two.
- Nash with a side walk slam and he signals for the end.
- Nash has Flair set up, but Sting runs down with Scott Steiner right behind him.
- Before Sting can even lay hand on Nash, Steiner enters and clubs away on Sting.
- The referee throws the contest out. Flair rolls to the floor. Steiner sends Sting into the ropes but Sting ducks a double clothesline and manages to clothesline both Nash and Steiner over the top to the floor.
- Nash and Steiner go nuts as Sting celebrates and taunts Nash.
- Sting grabs Flair and rolls him back into the ring to protect him as Nitro goes off the air.
