Impact kicked off as a disgruntled Booker T made his way to the ring with his wife Sharmell. Last week on IMPACT Jeff Jarret announced that the Legends Championship was no longer an official TNA chamoionship now that the war between the MEM and the Frontline was over. As soon as Booker T had the microphone in his hand he went on a rant. He complained about Sting and how he turned his back on all the wrestlers before him and all the legends who came up in the same era. Booker then turned his rage on Jeff Jarrett, demanding that Jarrett come to the ring. However, instead of Jarrett coming to the ring, it was Rhino who came to the ring. Rhino stated that he was sick and tired of Bookers complaining. It was time for Booker to move on and realize that he is getting older. It was time for Booker to put his effort into helping the young, amazing talent that was the TNA roster. Booker refused to accept what Rhino was saying and instead decided to attack Rhino resulting in a brawl that was broken up by TNA officials.

The first match of the night was for Abyss. In this match Matt Morgan was able to pick and opponent for Abyss much like Abyss would be able to do for Morgan later in the night. Morgan's pick turned out to be none other than "The Big Bad Booty Daddy" Scott Steiner. In the opening minutes of the match Steiner was able to conrtol Abyss using his wrestling ability. However, with James Mitchell shouting words of encouragement and with the fans behind him, Abyss was able to turn the tables on Steiner by speeding up the pace of the match. In the end it was Abyss hitting the Black Hole Slam on Steiner for the victory as a nervous Matt Morgan looked on from the entrance ramp. Morgan could only wonder who Abyss would choose as his opponent later on in the night.

Jim Cornette made his way to the ring and announced that because of last weeks tag team title stripping by Jeff Jarettt, tonight would be an over the top rope battle royal to crown new Tag Team Champions. As Cornette left the ring, the first team of the Rock N' Rave infection made their way to the ring. They were followed by the teams of the reunited Kip & BG James, Eric Young & Consequences Creed, and Team 3D. The first elimination of the match came as Kip James went for the Fameasser on Brother Ray, but instead got elevated over the top rope and crashing down to the floor. Since Kip James was eliminated this also meant that his partner BG James had to leave the match. The next elimination came after an exchange of right hand shots between Consequences Creed and Jimmy Rave. As Rave flung his arm back for a massive punch, Eric Young grabbed his arm and gave Rave a stiff right hand shot that knocked him for a loop. This allowed Creed to grab Rave by the back of the head and toss him over the top rope and to the floor. The match came down to two teams, Team 3D and Creed and Young. After the next elimination we would have our new Tag Team Champions. However, it was not meant to be on this night. After a punishing five minutes for both teams, Samoa Joe came to the ring and tossed out both Brother Devon and Eric Young. Joe then turned his attention to Brother Ray locking in The Clutch until Brother Ray was passed out. Joe then turned on Creed, hitting him with not one, but two Muscle Busters as the fans booed.

Once Joe had finished destroying the remaining two teams in the battle royal to crown new Tag Team Champions, Joe picked up a microphone and explained his reasoning for his actions last week. Joe reminded AJ Styles of the time when he spit in Stings face and Sting hit the Scorpian Death Drop on Styles and then watched as the Main Event Mafia beat him down. Joe claimed that the Frontline fought for months to take the TNA World Championship away from the Mafia and now Styles was about to go and possibly give it back to a former Mafia member. That was something Samoa Joe just couldnt allow. Therefore, he signed the contract and he vowed to become champion by any means.

Backstage Robert Rhoode and Jacqueline argued over last weeks loss to Shane Sewell. Rhoode threatened Jacqueline, warning her that this week he wouldn't accept failure in his match against Suicide with Sewell in his corner. For most of the match Rhoode was in control thanks to his ability to ground Suicide. However, through all of the punishment, Rhoode was having problems pinning Suicide. Rhoode called for Jacqueline to climb to the ring apron with a beer bottle, but she was cutt off by Shane Sewell. As Sewell pulled on Jacqueline's leg the beer bottle hit the ring apron and Jacqueline's face crashed into the bottle. The distraction allowed Suicide to gain a roll up victory. After the match, instead of tending to Jacqueline, Rhoode pounded the ring mat in anger, prompting Shane Sewell to carry Jacqueline to the back for medical attention.

It was now time for another tag team match. This match pinned rivals across the ring from each other as it was Chris Sabin and TNA X Division Champion, Homicide, against Alex Shelly and number one contender Sonjay Dutt. The match was fast paced from the start as Homicide and Sabin took advatage thanks to throwing caution to the wind with high flying moves. However, Shelly and Dutt were able to turn the match around thanks to class tag team wrestling as they trapped Sabin in the corner and kept themselves fresh with quick tags. It seemed like all was hopeless as Sabin was having problems standing on his feet, however with a bit of luck, Sabin was able to score with a flying forearm on Dutt. The two men were able to make a tag to their respective corners, but a pumped Homicide was able to come in like a house of fire, hitting right hand after right hand on Shelly and Dutt. After a few moments, Sabin was able to recover and clothesline Shelly over the ropes. As Sabin followed Shelly to the outside, Homicide was left in the ring to hit the Gringo Killa on Dutt and cover him for the three count. After the match Dutt argued with the referee that he wasnt the legal man, but his words fell on deaf ears.

It was now time for the main event as Matt Morgan waited in the ring for his opponent which was revealed as none other than Jay Lethal. It was a back and fourth match as Lethal showed that he had the ability to stand in the ring with men much larger than himself. Everytime Morgan took advantage in the match, Lethal refused to give up and fought back. However, in the later stages of the match it looked like Lethal's body was starting to crack under the punishment handed out by Morgan. It seemed like all hope was lost as Morgan signaled for the Hellavator, but Abyss charged for the ring with a baseball bat wraped in barbed wire. The sight of Abyss and the barbed wired bat sent Morgan fleeing from the ring, A nervous Morgan stood on the entrance ramp as an intense Abyss had just proven that he had gotten over his fear of weapons.
