TNA IMPACT: The BTB

Backstory:
Quote:
The following BTB takes place after Lockdown 09. A ppv in which shaped TNA forever. The main event was held in the infamous Lethal Lockdown match, where Mick Foley lead the Main Event Mafia against Jeff Jarrett and the Frontline. Everything was on the line, the TNA World Championship, Jeff Jarret's stock in the company, and Mick Foley's stock in the company. The winning side would take all!

After one of the most memorable matches in TNA history, the Frontline was able to caputre victory thanks to TNA World Champion, Sting, turning on the Main Event Mafia. After the match Sting told the world that he now realized it was indeed he who was not showing respect to the younger generation. He now saw the passion they had for the business, and would be honored if he could have a shot at regaining the TNA Championship... The right way.
Lockdown 09 Card & Results
Editors Notes: The card goes main event - opening match. All matches at Lockdown are held in the Six Sides Of Steel. Therefore, the Morgan / Abyss match spilled outside of the cage.

Quote:
Lethal Lockdown: MEM vs Frontline ( Winner takes all)

Everything was on the line, if MEM won the match Sting would retain his championship and Mick Foley would gain full control of Jeff Jarretts stock in the company. If Frontline won, AJ Styles would become the new TNA World Champion and Jeff Jarrett would gain full control of Mick Foleys stock in the company.

Tag Team Championship Match: Beer Money vs Shane Swell & Suicide

Four month prior to Lockdown, Shane Swell was released by Jeff Jarrett as a TNA official, and rehired as a wrestler in the company. After what some considered a fluke win by Swell, embarassing Shiek Abdul Bashir, Swell stated that he had his eyes set on gaining championship gold. However, the TNA roster did not respect Swell as evident by Robert Rhoode and James Strom. The two tormented Swell for weeks, interfering in his matches, and costing him a win in a match for the X Division Championship. It seemed that Swell was on his own when it came to taking on Beer Money Inc. However, Swell found himself a partner in the returning Suicide. Unfortunantly the numbers game was too much for Swell & Suicide at Lockdown as Ms. Tennessee, Jacqueline distracted Suicide allowing Beer Money Inc. to retain their Tag Team Championships. However, during the post match beatdown, when it seemed Robert Rhoode would smash one of James Storms beer bottles across the face of Swell, he missed and the glass bottle exploded across the face of James Storm.

Last Man Standing Match: Matt Morgan vs Abyss

Atfer two striaght losses thanks to Abyss miscalculating his attacks and hitting Morgan, both Matt and Abyss had one last shot to take the tag titles away Beer Money Inc. In the match Morgan shockingly walked out on Abyss. This lead to a series of matches between Morgan and Abyss, which resulted in Morgan brutalizing Abyss with weapons. This was seeming unfair to Abyss as he was till very timid when it came to using weapons. However, on the last IMPACT leading into their Last Man Standing Match at Lockdown, Abyss revealed that he had now found guidance and was no longer afraid to use weapons. At Lockdown, when it seemed Moran was about to hit the Hellavator on Abyss, off of the stage through a table wraped in barbed wire, James Mitchell made his shocking return by pushing Morgan off of the stage, through the barbed wire wraped table. To add insult to serious injury, Abyss landed ontop of Morgan and was able to make it back to his feet before the ten count.

Chirsty Hemme vs Awesome Kong(c) (Knockouts Championship)

Since Christy Hemme was forced to give up her shot at Kong's championship, thanks to an injured suffered while training with AJ Styles, Kong and her group had been on a destructive path thoughout the knockouts division. Just when it seemed like there was no one left for Kong to face, Christ Hemme made her surprise return to TNA with a contract for a title shot, authorized by Traci Brooks. At Lockdown, Hemme was able to overcome the odds and defeate Kong with Raisha Saeed, Rhaka Khan, & Sojournor Bolt in her corner. After the match an inraged Kong and Saeed attacked Bolt and Khan, ending their alliance.

Homicide vs Alex Shelly(c) (X-Title)

Just moments after costing Chris Sabin a shot at being #1 contender for the X Division Championship, Homicide made his way to the ring and cashed in his Feist Or Fired case for an X Division Championship match. It appeared as if Shelly would come out of this match as the victor, but Chris Sabin was able to distract Shelly by shaking the cage, which lead to Homocide hitting The Gringo Killa, to become the new X Division Champion.

Chris Sabin, Jay Lethal, Eric Young, Sanjay Dutt ( #1 contender X Title Elimination)

The match came down to two men after Sanjay Dutt eliminated both Eric Young and Jay Lethal in convincing fashion. All that stood in his way was Chris Sabin, but Sabin put up more of a fight that Dutt inticipated. It appeared as if Sabin was about to put Dutt away with the Cradle Shock, but Alex Shelly proceed to gain Sabin attention by making his way up the side of the Six Sides Of Steel cage. With Sabin distracted, Dutt was able to get a roll up pin to become #1 contender to the X title.
