I still don't see Jeff as being relevant to this as it was drug related, WWE said so as have insiders. He was given the chance for rehab, turned it down, was canned. Has nothing to do with if he was in an angle or not.
I really wasn't all that surprised when D-Lo was released or Crash, again, irregardless of angle. Piper, I was surprised.
I really don't think WWE takes into consideration angles when firing people, nor should they. If their employees aren't doing their job or aren't living up to expectations then it doesn't matter if you're in the most amazing angle you're still going to get fired.
