Good topic Miakal, I read it in the SF Chronicle earliar today and was personally disgusted by Frist's comments.

I personally have several homosexual friends, three of which I consider dear and valued friends. None of them are a risk, abnormal, or a detriment to society. They all possess positive qualities just as most heterosexuals do. They all hold regular jobs and live responsible well meaning lives. The fact that people feel that it is wrong, can lead to crimes and demean society in general is bogus and unrealistic. Why does it matter to people so much how someone lives there lives? Homosexuals don't hurt anybody anymore than a heterosexual does. The only reason it isn't considered acceptable is because most people haven't actually met a gay person or really gotten to know one. Everybody is different and thats the way life is. People need to get over it and realize that homsexuals aren't going to destroy the human race or be a detriment to society.

As far as child adoption goes it doesn't matter if a child has gay parents or not. Sure it maybe hard socially, but if our society could ever grow up and parents taught there children proper values then it wouldnt' matter. If a gay couple can provide a child with food, shelter and most of all LOVE then why the hell shouldn't they be allowed to adopt a child. There sure as hell are plenty of fucked up kids coming out of heterosexual relationships so nooone can use that as a reason against homosexual adoption of children.

LOVE IS WHAT MATTERS, NOT WHAT SEX YOU ARE!!!!

To all of you against homosexuals all I have to say is just talk to one gay person and you will realize that they are no different than yourself. There are bad eggs in all walks of live, regardless of race, religion, sex and ethinicity, its not just limited to homosexuals. The idea that gay sex would lead to crime, as Frist insinuates, is unbelievable, I can't believe someone like this is the majority leader of the senate of the United States of America. But at least we got rid of Strom Thurmond, finally, not that I wished for him to die, but his views were that of a bigot and highly outdated, but thats for another topic.

Oh and for you Mr. Hyde, just remember that ignorance is bliss but not always the truth.
