FO-LEY FO-LEY FO-LEY!!!!

How embarassing was it for WWE to cut a quick JR/King promo for Badd Blood, showing all the matches on the card, to have Foley pop up on the Nash/HHH thing as the guest referee BEFORE he had accepted the role? That looked terrible, almost as terrible as JR/King were funny in trying to cover it up (i.e., JR: "Well he might have accepted for the time being, but who knows what'll happen!)
But honestly, I'm glad he's back, if only for a one-off occasion. I imagine that he'll either accept a contract for more appearances (non-wrestling of course) to promote his new book and hopefully turn things around. He should be involved in the creative process if possible (I mean WWE finally has someone who can write AND has like 20 years experience in the industry - it's a shame they haven't utilized him more) or at least do some commentary.
And finally, his segment w/HHH showed why he was one of if not the best promo man in the businesss. Sure, he could stand to lose a few pounds, but I think he looked great and might be able to save the Nash/HHH match. I did like how JR commented that HHH had to back down from Nash in a fist-fight - it was a subtle way to put Nash's power over Haitch, who has come to be defined by his physique and the "awesome strength" that must come with it.
But to be honest I didn't watch anything but the last 15 min of the show (NHL baby) |
