Korn Plan a Acoustic Album

Korn will release its first-ever acoustic album early next year, according to AlbumVote.co.uk. The group will issue a live "Mtv Unplugged" LP through Virgin Records on Monday, February 19 in the United Kingdom.

The California-based band will join a legendary list of artists to release live albums for the music channel, including Nirvana, Neil Young and Sting.

The track listing for the CD has yet to be announced.

As previously reported, Korn frontman Jonathan Davis told rock radio station HardDrive Radio that the band has already written 18 songs for its new album since heading into the studio last month.

Korn began writing its eighth studio album on October 2. Davis wrote in an Oct. 1 online post, "I can't wait. I know it's gonna be insane. The band is really on fire and have some phat shit to record." Davis had said in earlier interviews that he and guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer had both been writing new material while on the road in support of the band's last album, "See You on the Other Side".

The band plans once again to collaborate with The Matrix, the songwriting and producing team that worked with the group on "See You on the Other Side".

Davis recently told Launch that he is considering going on his first solo tour sometime in the next few months, after the band finishes recording its new CD.

Thanks for the report to Blabbermouth.net.

After watching the Acoustic AOL sessions this could be very Hit or miss, none the less im interested to see how it all turns out.
