| Eircom leauge finishes tomorrow Shelbourne and Derry City are level on points at the top of the table with only one game to play. Shelbourne hold a slight advantage due to goal differance.
Shelbourne plays Bohemians tomorrow knowing a win will pretty much win them the title.
Derry City play 3rd place and last years champions Cork City knowing they need a win to give them hope.
If both sides lose Shels win the league, unless Shels lose by 8 goals more than Derry.
If both sides draw Shels win the leauge.
If Both sides win Shels win the leauge, unless Derry win by 8 goals more than Shels.
Shels are appealing a decision to try and get three more points or at least a replay. Bohs fielded a suspended player against Shels and won 2-1. A few days ago Bohs were deducted those three points but Shels didnt get them like they hoped, and didnt get a chance to replay the match either.
Derry fielded a suspended player and won but got to keep the points due to a technicality.
Shels should have won the league last week but due to Dublin City's departure from foot ball due to lack of finances, all Dublin City games were null and void. Derry won one and lost won so they lost three points. Shels won both times so lost six points.
Personally im hoping for Shels to win the leauge. The Derry manager said in an interview the leauge should be won on the pitch not in the courts. I wonder if it was the other way around would he be saying that? Shels should be six points better off than Derry now but due to the courts they arent.
Who do you want to win, or does anyone else even watch the Eircom leauge? |
