| Like I said, this PPV was awful. Glad I didn't order it.
The opening match was alright. Nothing special, pretty much the same match Kane and Umaga have put on a few times before. I'm glad they gave Umaga the clean win. Kane will be over regardless. Umaga needs some clean victories. Monsters shouldn't have to cheat all the time.
What was the purpose of that tag team Texas Tornado match? Meh. At least I liked all of the teams involved. Raw could have a pretty good tag division if they tried.
Carlito VS Hardy was a high point of the night, which is kind of sad. It was good, but a match like this shouldn't be a high point. Carlito really impressed me by immediatley taking over the match and working as the heel. The fans seemed to get a bit restless in the middle. I guess they only like spinny moves, because Carlito was playing an awesome role. There were some innovative spots in this one as well. I give it ***.
Ugh. DX finally puts on a really funny skit (All due to Michaels, mind) and then they blow it by putting on a by the number, house show quality match. Seriously though, Michaels randomly superkicking people and yelling is hilarious. "SEE, I JUST KICKED STAN!" More of that and less Triple H **** jokes plz. DX pretty much dominated this match for the first 10 minutes, and Triple H kicked out of the RKO. Hogan didn't even kick out of the ****ing RKO. Whatever, I guess they "put the young guys over." Even though they ****ing didin't. Just a blah match. I hope they do something with Bischoff tonight. He played his role well.
Christ, I'm begging WWE to hire some women who can actually wrestle. What a terrible Women's title match. For those of you who thought these two could actually put on a submission match, what the **** is wrong with you?
So, we had four legit tag teams in a random match earlier, and Flair and Piper win the tag titles? OK guys. Time for some new bookers. Not that I mind Piper holding a title again, but unless they drop the belts tonight, this was a bad idea.
Cena and Booker make a good comedy duo. That segment was great.
The main event was good, I thought. The fact that Big Show was obviously hurting and couldn't do much work hindered what they could do, and it was a standard WWE Triple Threat. But they did the formula well. ***, I guess. I like Booker winning. However, I don't like the camera focusing on Kevin ****ing Federline at the end of the show. I didn't mind him interfering, but could we at least get a shot of the Champion of Champions after what was supposed to be a huge win? Jesus, get your priorities in line guys.
Bad, bad PPV, though the main event and IC title match, and a few good backstage sketches were enough to put it up to a 4. Not nearly good enough for the 40 bucks some people dished out. |
