Here's one that I've talked about quite a bit. It's basically the career of RVD in WWE. I'm of the opinion that RVD could have been one of the most popular WWE stars of all time, and I believe he'd still be at the top of the card on RAW if not for one huge mistake.

During RVD's prime, right after ECW closed up, he goes to WWF. He joins the InVasion angle on the side of the Alliance. He's the only man to gennerate cheers from that side from the otherwise biased WWE crowds. Not only were they cheers, they were basically standing ovations.

He was over mre then anyone in the entire company, maybe on par with The Rock. So WWE works it into the storyline with teased dissension between him and alliance leader Stone Cold Steve austin. Austin is the WWF champion at the time.

Now, I realize that he has a huge feud going on with Kurt, but why not give RVD the belt anyway? Why not have RVD as a neutral champion during all of this? The whole angle was blown apart anyway, and was badly failing.

Just a month prior to the end of the InVasion RVD has a match with Angle and Austin but takes the pinfall.

RVD never recovered from that booking until this year's ECW PPV and by now he's just a shadow of what he once was, a very talented and innovative high-flying performer.
