| Re: US safety group: Trying to ban cellphones in cars I'm torn on this too. I talk on the phone while driving a lot, but there are MANY people that can't do both at the same time. As for 100% hands free, I don't see why they should ban that. I mean, what's the difference from driving while talking on a headset versus driving while talking to the person in the passenger seat?
I have a bluetooth headset that works with my phone, and other than touching the button on the headset to answer and activate the bluetooth, everything else is voice activated. You take a hand off the wheel to answer a call just like you do to change the radio station dial. But they don't fine you for that.
I'd be in favor of a cell phone law that allowed people to only talk if they had a hands-free headset on (bluetooth or otherwise). |
