| Re: Porn Industry Seeks Bailout Can no one else see the hidden agenda here?
Flint and Francis do not want a bailout, need a bailout, nor do they ever expect to actually be given one. This whole display was entirely satirical. Think about it: unlike the insurance, auto, and bank CEOs, these porn guys are self-made millionaires and owe their fortunes to a capitalist society. They HATE the idea of other businesses being bailed out. They knew they wouldn't be taken seriously by Congress or the public in general, but that's fine, because their whole point was to basically mock the idea of anyone being bailed out.
This is completely analogous to Larry Flint making that Sarah Palin porno during the election. He was obviously mocking the idea of her being a vice president, but was also capitalizing (monetarily) on the biggest political story at the time. Literally the exact same thing is being done here. As well making a mockery of the auto and bank bailouts, Flint and Francis were looking for some publicity.
The mainstream media has done an absolute horrible job of debunking this and showing it for what it really is. It's disappointing that more people haven't picked up on this and that so many are wasting their time actually trying to argue against a porn bailout that was fake to begin with. |
