Re: Death Penalty

An eye for an eye indeed. I think that if you commit murder, you should be murdered via the death penalty.

In addition, I think it would clear up space in an overcrowded jail enviornment. I have to believe it would cost less to send someone to the chair then for all of us to pay taxes to keep those people in jail (some for 80 years+ when you think about it). All the costs that go along with feeding them 3 times a day for all those years, clothes, grooming, etc etc must be less than a death penalty (a one-time event).

I've read on the news how people sentenced had to change facilities, some to a minimum-security prison, because the place they were supposed to be sent to was overcrowded. I bet if they took those murderers sentenced to life and gave them the death penalty, that would clear up a lot of space for those people that need to be in the maximum security prisons.

I understand the "make them suffer" arguement, but either way, death penalty or life, they are gone from society forever right? Why should we have to pay for those scum to sit in a rotting cell for all those years?
