Do you fear the dreaded 'Bradley Effect'? For those that are unfamiliar, Tom Bradley whom this political term is named after, was an African-American man running for governor in California in the 1980's. Despite being ahead in seemingly every voter poll, come election day he suffered a narrow loss to his white opponent.
The theory is that in a race pitting a white person versus a black or non-white candidate, people will say they are undecided or likely to vote for the minority candidate in fear of being labeled a racist but show their true colors on election day.
After witnessing some of the completely out of touch, extreme, and racist McCain followers these past few days.. I still believe this nation may not have progressed as much as we'd like to think. |
