Well, I was pretty much...exactly right. They revised the bill, put a bunch more money in it, and it passed overwhelmingly in the Senate (I predicted 80%, it passed with 75%). And of course, the House felt obligated to approve it as well.

There has been some grassroots proposals to just give every American like a million dollars. Sounds a little crazy and ill-advised, but honestly, it would be almost a guaranteed way to stimulate the economy. Obviously, that's not going to happen, but then this huge bailout isn't too reassuring either.
