To be fair though, you're American, and over there there tends to be a much clearer divide between the Republicans and the Democrats.

In England, there's just no real gap between Labour and the Conservatives. Both now tend to be sat closer to the middle than the Liberal Democrats.

I don't agree with either party, so I tend to vote for someone like Respect, which is essentially me wasting my vote, but still allowing me the right to complain and have my say.

Given the right incentives, though, I could be encouraged to vote for a real party. Particularly if they agreed to let Scotland completely govern itself, since I need never have to worry about jowelly Thatcher loving Brown stepping foot in the cabinet again.

I still maintain that the last thing Tony Blair should have done before his resignation would have been to liberate Scotland, and completely screw Brown over.
