| Re: Would an ROH developmental deal work? This is an interesting subject to discuss, but I don't think ROH would work under the WWE banner. As I believe in the 6 years ROH has been in excistence they have created a cult like following alot like ECW did in the past and many of ROH's fans would certainly turn there back on ROH, and I am a big ROH fan myself and I couldn't bring myself to watch ROH if Vince somehow had any say in it what so ever and I would probably end up turning my back on ROH.
If this ever did happen it would be good for WWE no doubt about that, because ROH do showcase some of the best talent and we have seen in the past some people that started out at ROH ended up going to one of the mainstream companies for example CM Punk, Samoa Joe, Colt Cabana, Homicide and others. So talent wise this would be the holy grail for WWE, and also they won't fear that some of ROH's talent would go elsewhere like TNA.
And also look at what has happened with ECW it was always known as a harder than hardcore style and now that is under the WWE banner it has become a joke some positive things have come from ECW but it doesn't make it right to use the ECW name for a development as such and with that ECW has lost there identity and what they was all about. And I would hate to see that happen to ROH, ROH don't care about what the mainstream cares about really ROH focuses on workrate and from that we have seen the best matches of the 2000's from ROH. And I think Vince will just focus it on the entertainment factor and it would surely lose its identity and wouldn't be ROH anymore for big fans of the promotion like myself. |
