Six + Five rule = Bullshit

For? Against? Havent a clue what it is?

If you answered with the third option just press the back button now.

If you are still here then you will probably have an idea of what the proposesed rule is about. Its to limit the number of foreign players in each team to five.

Despite it being illegial Sepp Blatter is still trying to push it through. I dont see any valid arguement for it to be introdecuded whereas there are countless for it not to be introduced. One being the quality of football will take a drastic hit. If this rule is employed in every FIFA represented country then Alex Hleb could be off to Belerus, Carlos Tevez could be off to Argentina & they will be replaced by League Two quality players.

Its simple, if the player is good enough he will make it to the top. Forcing teams to play six home grown players is discrimination against non nationals & promotes lazyness amoungst youth players because they know they have a much better chance of playing.

I'll use France as an example for my next point. The league teams are not to blame for a lack of quality players coming through. In France they were winning nothing & going nowhere so they improved the facilitys from School boys first. Pretty soon they were World & European Champions. In England the young players dont get the right training until they get into an Academy, by that time they are in their teens & are far behind some of Europe's other youngsters.

Before someone thinks they are being smart & says im only against this because i support Arsenal lets compare numbers as of the season just ended. In the Man Utd academy there are 30 players. 11 foreign and 19 English. At Arsenal we have 31 with 26 English and only 5 foreign. The reseves are closer in numbers as Man Utd Reserves consist of 19 players, 13 English and 6 foriegn. Arsenal reserves consist of 28 players, 18 English and 10 foriegn.

I used Man Utd because they are always quick to say they have produced loads of English players. Newsflash, since the group of Beckham, Neville etc Man Utd have only produced one player who could be considered an England International. Wes Brown. Everyone else Man Utd bought for fee's ranging from 18m to 30m. Arsenal meanwhile have produced David Bentley & Ashley Cole off the top of my head. Steve Sidwell was looking like getting into the International team but then he moved to the Chelsea reserves.
