Maybe this is just me not knowing enough about how movies are made, but if the writers do a good job making a script and the actors do a good job of playing their parts...how big of an impact does the director really make?
The first three (in my opinion) were great because of Eddie Murphy's job as Foley and because I enjoyed the storylines. Does the director of the movie really have much to do with either? |
It depends on the actors...acting and directing is like a dance...if one if out of synch from the other, even if the actor is good there's only so much they can do to cover up the overall direction of the movie.
I have just seen and read a lot of good scripts that were totally wasted when the movie came out and it was horrible.
Brett Ratner was the director in a lot of these.
Uwe Boll is another one who makes me cringe.
