11 start. In the CL you get 7 subs but can only use 3 of them. Personally i think 5 is a better number with 8 subs.
Bringing players back on wouldent work. Lets say United took off Ronaldo after to scored & brought on another defender. But when it got close to penalties they bring him back on so he can take one? Add in the fact that subs are supposed to be used for 1.) Tactics gone wrong, 2.) Injury, 3.) Fatigue.
Also the small fact that if a player has been playing at full pace, come off & relaxs but then has to go back on & catch up he would probably be three times more likely to get injured.
I know it works (Or something similar anyway) in NFL but American Football is a lot slower & tactics need to be changed after every play, Soccer doesnt have that.
