| He's been around for so long. He's had a few stellar seasons and not too many bad ones, so the hits do add up over time. Him getting 3,000 hits is more a sign of his longevity than him being an amazing hitter. He's good, don't get me wrong, but definitely not in the Tony Gwynn, Wade Boggs mold - as far as pure hitting skills go. |
