Re: Mock Drafts

Lemons Mock Draft v.1.0

#1) Miami Dolphins
OT Jake Long, Michigan

Not my favorite pick just because I don't believe he'll be a person I'd trust with my QBs blind side, but his run blocking his top notch.

#2) St.Louis Rams
DT Glenn Dorsey, LSU

Moving Adam Carriker back to DE and adding Dorsey in the middle should do wonders for there Oline. Also look for St.Louis to trade down with the Saints who are in love with Dorsey.

#3) Atlanta Falcons
QB Matt Ryan, Boston College

I'm not at all thrilled with Matt Ryan being pegged as a top 10 pick, let alone a top 3 pick. But with Dorsey and Long both gone, QB is without a doubt Atlantas biggest need.

#4) Oakland Raiders
DE Chris Long, Virgina

Typical Al move, son of one his greatest players comes along and he believes it'll restore all greatness to the franchise. He just lacks a John Madden JR to go with him.

#5) Kansas City Chiefs
DE Vernon Gholston, Ohio State

Well, Jared Allens gone.

#6) New York Jets
RB Darren McFadden, Arkansas

The Jets have been having McFadden in town so many times, its hard to see them go otherwise.

#7) New England Patriots (From San Franciso)
CB Leodis McKelvin, Troy

Leodis is the most NFL Ready corner in the draft who gets the luxery of playing on a superbowl contender. Only problem is he'll be next to Rodney Harrison >.>

#8) Baltimore Ravens
CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, TSU

I really, really like Rodgers fit in the Ravens secondary, Rolle and McAllister both have a couple years left on them and Cory Ivy is a decent Nickelback for this year. Rodgers gets to learn the system and contribute in big ways, barring injurys to starters or him.

#9) Cincinati Bengals
DT Seddrick Ellis, USC

I had Keith Rivers going here before, but Ellis is to good to pass up on a terrible Dline like Cincis.

#10) New Orleans Saints
OLB Keith Rivers, USC

Keith tore the roof of his pro day and even though the Saints still need a CB, Keith is far to good to pass up.

#11) Buffalo Bills
CB Mike Jenkins, USF

I'm sorry but when your in the same Divsion as Randy Moss, you need CBs. Jenkins and McGee should be a formatable dou in the secondary with Youboty in the nickle.

#12) Denver Broncos
OT Ryan Clady, Boise State

Jay Cutler Fumbles alot, maybe he should stop that?

#13) Carolina Panthers
OT Jeff Otah, Pittsburgh

I tell you what, I didn't think Otah would go this high but reports are that alot of teams in the top 15 love the guy. I can't say I disagree with there love affair, Otah will be a franchise LT in the NFL next season.

#14) Chicago Bears
OG Brandon Albert, Virgina

I absolutly LOVE Brandon Albert, with all the needs the Bears have it all starts with there offensive line which isn't exactly a fountain of youth. Fix the line, fix the quaterback, fix the line fix the running back. Okay maybe the last one was a stretch.

#15) Detriot Lions
DE Derrick Harvey, Florida

The Lions have so many needs its not even funny, Linebacks, DLine, Runningbacks. with Harvey being added to the line it fills some of the void that Shaun Rodgers leaves, but not all of it.

#16) Arizona Cardinals
RB Rashard Mendenhall, Illinois

I think its a pretty obvious pick to be honest, if Mendenhall is hanging around theres no way they wont take him. Edge has fallen off considerably and Mendenhal should prove to be a hit amoung Arizona Fans lining up with Leinart in the backfield.

#17) Kansas City Chiefs (from Minnesota)
OT Chris Williams, Vanderbuilt

Games are won and lost on the line, they got Gholston now they improve there offensive line.

#18) Houston Texans
CB Aqib Talib, Kansas

Still not sold on Aqib in the NFL but its such a big need for the Texans that Im not sure they can pass it up, even with Stewart on the board at running back. GIVE THE BALL TO DARIUS WALKER!!

#19) Philadelphia Eagles
WR Devin Thomas, Michigan State

With most of the Oline projects of round one off the board, I think Andy shakes Freddy Mitchell from his Memory for long enough to draft Devin Thomas. They need any sort of WR they can get for McNabb, personally Devin reminds me of Donte Stallworth when he playing good, his YAC potential is amazing.

#20) Tampa Bay Buccaneers
WR Desean Jackson

I really want to say Brohm goes here but I find it hard to believe that a team with 5 quaterbacks, including the rights to semi retiree Jake Plummer will spend a first round pick on a quaterback. DeSean Jackson on the other hand certainly gives Tampa bay something to think about at WR, Joey Galloway and Ike Hilliard won't make plays forever and Jackson this year should give Stovall and Clayton a run for there money in the slot because of his speed and hands alone. And as Charles davis would say he returns kicks for added value

#21) Washington Redskins
DE Philip Merling, Clemson

I had Kenny Philips here before and the more I think about it, the more I think the Redskins will pass till there on a less freaky number.

#22) Dallas Cowboys (From Cleveland)
CB Antonie Cason, Arizona

A much needed boost of fresh blood in there secondary at corner.

#23) Pittsburgh Steelers
OT Gosder Cherilus, Boston college

Gosder doesn't appeal to me as a prospect at all but at this point hes the best offensive linemen on the board and in wake of Faneca going to New York thats there biggest need.

#24) Tennessee Titans
WR Limas Sweed, Texas

Well, Malcom Kelly sure hasn't helped him self running all those 4.67's lately, hes probably helped Limas more then anybody. Limas also fills the void to end all at WR in Tennesse.

#25) Seattle Seahawks
RB Jonathan Stewart, Oregon

Alexander the Great is gone in Washington and Julio Junes and T.J Duckett just don't cut it. Jonathan should be a amazing compliment to the new wide open passing attack of Seattle with his power running.

#26) Jacksonville Jaguars
DT Kentwan Balmer, North Carolina

Balmers just the best DT on the board and they need one now that Stroud is in Buffalo.

#27) San Diego Chargers
DE/OLB Quentin Groves, Auburn

I don't know what the Chargers will do, nor will I pretend but with every tackle off the board, most of the first round grade CBs of the board. Groves fills depth at DE behinde Luis and Igor with a year to bulk up to a round 280, he'll be a solid rotational piece in the Dline.

#28) Dallas Cowboys
S Kenny Philips, Miami

Rumor has it that Roy Williams is going to see a reduced role in 2008/2009 by being taken off the field in obvious passing downs. Kenny Philips has the ablity to play both safety postions and should provide a force in the secodary for a long time.

#29) San Franciso 49ers
WR Early Doucett, LSU

When Arnaz Battle is your best reciever with only 600 yards on the season, you've got problems. Bryant Johnson and Issac Bruce both help the cause but Early Doucett really finallizes the need at WR.

#30) Green Bay Packers
CB Brandon Flowers, Virgina Tech

I'd love to see Brohm go here, but the Packers need a corner amoung other things.

#31) New York Giants
ILB Dan Conner, Penn State

Everybody has Dan Conner falling in to round two but really, can the giants afford to pass him up?

I found a poor man once
He was the age of fifty-three
He spoke about the government
And the thought of being free
What good does us reason if we fail to see?
What good does us freedom if we fail to be free
