Re: Mock Drafts

Draft Mock By Lemons >____>

#1 Miami Dolphins
Chris Long DE/OLB, Virgina

I don't think the Dolphins have any where else to go besides Chris Long or Glenn Dorsey. Jake Long would command to much money to be a right tackle in the NFL. McFadden isn't in a postion of need and with Glenn Dorseys injury concerns I think they'll take a pass and take the equaly, if not more talented Chris Long.

#2 St.Louis Rams
Jake Long Ot, Michigan

Although I think that Long is overpriced, the Rams have needs at every spot in the line and Long is without a doubt the best linemen in the draft.

#3 Atlanta Falcons
DT Glenn Dorsey, LSU

I think you can rule out Matt Ryan because of the rise in second round quaterbacks like Chad Henne, Joe Flacco and possibly Brian Brohm. Considering there defense was just as bad as there offense was, I think Dorsey would be welcome in Atlanta.

#4 Oakland Raiders
Vernon Gholston, DE/OLB, Ohio State

Kiffin has recently stated that he was happy with his running backs on the roster for 2008 and thinks the Raiders will look else where in a ESPN interview. *crosses McFadden off the list of possible draftees*

#5 Kansas City Chiefs
DT Seddrick Ellis, USC

Even if the Chiefs suck at drafting (which they do) and even if Brodie Croyle sucks at playing QB (which he does) I still don't think the Chiefs will go with Matt Ryan. Ellis is to good to pass up at #5 if it were any other year he would be gone in the top three.

#6 New York Jets
RB Darren McFadden, Arkansas

Duel back schemes are all the rage in the NFL now, Leon Washington is explovsive but he doesn't fit that second back role. Darren McFadden would not only be the perfect back up to struggling starter Thomas Jones but would offer a Solution for the future if Thomas countinues to struggle.

#7 New England Patriots
CB Leodis McKelvin, Troy

Rodgers Cromartie seems to be the popular pick here to alot of poeple, but that all really hangs on Leodis going to the Jets, which I don't believe he will. After losing Asante Samual, Wilson and Gay I don't think they can pass up Leodis, Its worth noting how losing the 31st pick hurts the Patriots by not having them take another DB prospect like Kenny Philips or Brandon Flowers at the bottom of the round.

#8 Baltimore Ravens
CB,Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, TSU

Now heres the tricky pick of the draft, with either both Matt Ryan and Rodgers Cromartie still on the board I think they would take Cromartie over Ryan and give McNair a second chance with Troy Smith as a back up. Its not going to be a popular pick but you damned if you do and your damned if you dont, McNair, Rolle and McAllister are all pushing the wrong side of thirty.

#9 Cinncinati Bengals
OLB, Keith Rivers, USC

With all the defensive ends off the board, there next biggest need is clearly improving there line backing crops which resembled a emgerncy room by October 1st against the Patriots leaving Chinedum Ndukwe a rookie Safety to play linebacker.

#10 New Orleans Saints
CB Mike Jenkins, USF

Even with the signing of Randall Gay, the Saints still don't have a true #1 corner to rely on for years, they'll take one here.

#11 Buffalo Bills
DE Derrick Harvey, Florida

Harvey fills a possible need but Trading down is probably what the Bills will do if the draft plays out like this, there biggest needs are WR and CB, with RoCro, McKelvin and Jenkins all off the board, they still need a Limas Sweed or Malcom Kelly. Which paves way for them swaping picks with Minnesota probably to select QB Matt Ryan, till then there pass rush gets a nifity upgrade.

#12 Denver Broncos
OT Ryan Clady, Bosie State

Is bosie REALLY a state? but anyways The Broncos couldnt buy a win in the second half of 2008 and all things considered they need help on both sides of the line. With seemingly every DE going in the top 11 picks, there best bet is to upgrade pass protection for fumble prone Jay Cutler.

#13 Carolina Panthers
OT Chris Williams, Vanderbuilt

Chris can either go here or swap picks denver and go there, either way hes a picture perfect fit for any team that uses the zone blocking scheme.

#14 Chicago Bears
OG Brandon Albert, Virgina

I absolutly LOVE Brandon Albert, with all the needs the Bears have it all starts with there offensive line which isn't exactly a fountain of youth. Fix the line, fix the quaterback, fix the line fix the running back. Okay maybe the last one was a stretch.

#15 Detriot Lions
RB Rashard Mendenhall, Illinois

HEY! Detriots secondary all of a suddenly got semi respectable!, Tatum Bell gets the nod in 07 but with no Kevin Jones or TJ Duckett, Rashard does for the Lions what McFadden does for the Jets because lets be honest. Tatum Bell isn't exactly the cream of the crop in runningbacks in the NFL, even if theyre adopting a zone blocking scheme.

#16 Arizona Cardinals
RB Jonathan Stewart, Oregon

Alot of people have him falling because of his toe surgery but hell be ready for camp and I'm sure the Cardinals are aware that The Edge isn't cutting it anymore.

#17 Minnesota Vikings
QB Matt Ryan, Boston College

You laugh now, but you just wait and see >.>

#18 Houston Texans
CB Aqib Talib, Kansas

Although I'm not sold on Talib and his that whole weed thing should hurt him, the Texans have a huge need for cornerbacks consdering Dunta Robinsons injury.

#19 Philadelphia Eagles
OT Jeff Otah, Pitts

Its about time the Eagles toke a WR in the first round! or not. Rumors are that Andy Ried loves Mr.Otah and for good reason, luckly for him Otah will probably be here at 19 and no trade up will be involved.

#20 Tampa Bay Buccaneers
WR Desean Jackson, Cal

I really want to say Brohm goes here but I find it hard to believe that a team with 5 quaterbacks, including the rights to semi retiree Jake Plummer will spend a first round pick on a quaterback. DeSean Jackson on the other hand certainly gives Tampa bay something to think about at WR, Joey Galloway and Ike Hilliard won't make plays forever and Jackson this year should give Stovall and Clayton a run for there money in the slot because of his speed and hands alone. And as Charles davis would say he returns kicks for added value

#21 Washington Redskins
FS Kenny Phillips, Miami

You need to replace Sean Taylor at some point and although Phillips isn't and probably will never be what Taylor was on the football field, hes still the best safety prospect in the draft.

#22 Dallas Cowboys
WR Limas Sweed, Texas

Even if Patrick Crayton is the #2 reciever next to owens, Owens and Glenn arnt spring chickens and you can never get enough play makers on offense.

#23 Pittsburgh Steelers
OT Gosder Cherilus, Boston College

Gosder doesn't appeal to me as a prospect at all but at this point hes the best offensive linemen on the board and in wake of Faneca going to New York thats there biggest need.

#24 Tennessee Titans
WR Malcom Kelly, Oklahoma

Kelly hasn't tested well anywhere lately in pre draft work outs and has serious questions about his knees none the less, the Titans need for a WR is far to big to pass him up for anybody else.

#25 Seattle Seahawks
WR Devin Thomas, Michigan State

They went pass heavy last year with Alexander going out and although they added TJ Duckett and Julius Jones, that doesn't help matters at all at running back. A New toy in the slot would make me fell less bad about Matts arm falling off at some point during the season.

#26 Jacksonville Jaguars
DT Kentwan Balmer, North Carolina

Balmers just the best DT on the board and they need one now that Stroud is in Buffalo.

#27 San Diego Chargers
CB Antonie Cason, Arizona

Well, Clinton Harts locked up at strong safety and every major tackle project is off the board i'd expect them to trade down with Atlanta for Brian Brohm right here but if not. Cason is just what the chargers need behinde Jammer and Cromartie now that Drayton is gone.

#28 Dallas Cowboys
CB Tracy Porter, Indiana

Tracy had a incredible pro day and basicly solidified a bottom of the first round spot and the Cowboys need some fresh blood in there seconardy.

#29 San Franciso 49ers
WR Early Doucet, LSU

When Arnaz Battle is your best reciever with only 600 yards on the season, you've got problems. Bryant Johnson and Issac Bruce both help the cause but Early Doucett really finallizes the need at WR.

#30 Green Bay Packers
CB Brandon Flowers, Virgina Tech

In my perfect world, Brian Brohm goes here but I'm pretty sure the Packers scouting staff is smarter then I am

#31 New York Giants
ILB Dan Conner, Penn State

Everybody has Dan Conner falling in to round two but really, can the giants afford to pass him up?
