| Video Replays are a must Its been done to death but i now feel stronger than ever about it. If you dont think Video Replays will help, you havent been screwed in a big match by a wrong call.
After the happenings in the last week, Video Replay is the only way to go now. Last Wednesday a stone wall penalty was turned down. A replay & it would have been givin. Saturday another penalty turned down. A replay & it most likely would have been givin. Last night a Penalty is givin for little to no contact. A replay & Babel gets a yellow for diving.
Human Error is not an excuse in this day & age. These men are supposed to be pro's yet every week their is at least one big call that gets called wrong. These things should not have to even themselves out over the course of the season, they shouldent happen in the first place. Another excuse is its a hard job being a ref. Thats their own problem, they chose the career of being the middle man & a lot of the time the most hated man on the pitch.
Bad reffering decisions cost teams Millions each year. Put yourself in the position of a team fighting to stay up. They need to draw at least on the last day to stay up, the ref makes a wrong call & gives a penalty despite it being a dive. They lose as a result & get relagated. How is that going to even itself out? It will cause a lot of players to leave the club & the managers job is in question. All because the man in black made the wrong decision.
I said it the last time this was brought up & im proposing it again. Use the American Football system of three challenges per game. Once those three replays are used, you dont get anymore chances. It will make managers think before they use them. It wont be wasted on Offsides unless a goal is allowed or dissalowed wrongly. Penaltys, Offside goals & Red Cards the the only things a sensible manager would use them on.
It would take two minutes maximum for the ref to view replays & make a decision. As a result we get the correct decision aswell as minimal play disruption & the game is fair once again. |
