One thing I've discovered is that our memories tend to deceive us. Things get jumbled in our heads and we get our facts mixed up as time passes

Case in point: I got into a big argument with a friend a few months ago that Derek Jeter's career high in home runs was 20. I was 100% sure of it. In my mind, Derek Jeter had always hit HR's in the teens but one year he had a little more pop and he got up to 20, but no more than that. I was certain of it.

Then I looked it up and discovered that he hit 24 home runs in 1999 and 21 in 2001 and 23 in 2004. In fact, he has never hit exactly 20 in a season
