| Re: Value of the Internet How about the radio? I would say that, back in the early 20th century when that became popular, it was a MAJOR communication tool, entertainment tool, and a way to get all the news you needed to know.
The "Fireside chats" of FDR, Little Orphan Annie for the kiddies, a source of getting music out to the public. It's still something we use to this day, and I would bet it will be around for a long, long time.
Before the days of CNN and 24-hour news television, this was how people got all their information. News on the war, what was going on in the country...all these things wouldn't have been possible without the radio.
My belief is that, even if the internet has more options available and is capable of much more than radio...ask yourself this: How many people on this planet have access to the internet (not as high as you think) versus the amount of people who have access to a radio? |
