| Oprah is Not Gay
In the August issue of O, Oprah Winfrey says that she and BFF, Gayle King, are not gay. People just misunderstand their relationship.
"I understand why people think we're gay," she says. "There isn't a definition in our culture for this kind of bond between women. So I get why people have to label it - how can you be this close without it being sexual?"
The article goes on to say that she and Gayle call each other four times a day, and their relationship feels "otherwordly." The article doesn't say that Oprah was sexually assaulted at 14, contemplated suicide over a relationship with a man in her twenties, had an ex-lover try to write a tell all book about how she smoked crack and despite living with Steadman Graham for twenty years, she is 52 and has never been married. Yeah, I can't understand why people would think she doesn't like dudes. |
