X Factor's Leona has festive No 1



Singer Leona Lewis has grabbed this year's Christmas number one single - a week after winning ITV1 talent contest The X Factor.

The 21-year-old stormed to the top with A Moment Like This, which only went on sale in shops on Wednesday.

Revived boy band Take That's Patience is the runner-up at number two, while their Beautiful World is the top album.

McFly's Sorry's Not Good Enough and Girls Aloud's I Think We're Alone Now made numbers three and four.

German dance trio Cascada are at number five with Truly Madly Deeply.

The Pogues' festive favourite, Fairytale of New York returns to the Christmas chart at number six. The track, featuring Kirsty MacColl, was first released in 1987.

Another seasonal stalwart, Sir Cliff Richard, falls to number seven with 21st Century Christmas. It is his third top 10 hit since he last hit number one with 1999's Millennium Prayer.

Mariah Carey's All I Want Is Christmas Is You shares the number 10 position, 12 years after its initial release.

In the album chart, Westlife are at number two with the Love Album, while Oasis best-of compilation Stop The Clocks is at number three.
