| Big Details On MTV's Wrestling Promotion; Underground Look? As announced earlier this weekend, MTV has picked up the Wrestling Society X pilot and will become a new series in the future. The wrestlers that were involved in the pilot taping were contacted this past Friday, and were told on the decision to pick up the show and noting to keep the news confidential, pending an official press release on the series.
Wrestlers that appeared on the pilot taping in April who are still involved include Sean Waltman (using the name "Six Pac"), Vampiro, Jack Evans, Matt Sydal, Teddy Hart, Alter Boy Luke, Lone Star, and Kaos.
Apparently, there will be 15 half hour shows taped over a two week span over in Los Angeles. The show is expected to incorporate live bands as Black Label Society performed during the pilot in April.
The promotion is slated to have a very underground, gritty look to it. The show was taped in a Los Angles warehouse and was designed to look like a rundown club. To describe it, the ring was designed to purposely make it appear dirty and weathered. Even the turnbuckles were designed to look like dirty rags that were taped into place. There were also no mats outside the ring and no aprons around the ring. |
