I attended the ECW House Show on July 2 in Huntington, West Virginia. Some of these results may not be in order and I may have left some of them out all together.
FBI vs. Road Kill & Danny Doring
This match was a good starter match. Pretty fast paced and the crowd was into it. FBI ended up with the win. After the match the FBI left Road Kill and Doring in the ring. The crowd started booing and tried to get them to turn on each other. Road Kill and Doring teased a fight by pushing each other and then Doring ran against the ropes. Road Kill caught him and held him up and then they hugged each other. The crowd cheered for them.
CM Punk vs. Fertig
This was the vampire guy and I think they called him Fertig. That is his last name I believe. This was a good match. I really liked the ring gear Fertig was wearing, it matched his vampire role pretty well. He wore a long black leather coat out to the ring and his ring gear was black pants with red lettering and red boots. CM Punk picked up the win here.
Kelly came down to the ring and started stripping. Just as she was about to take her bra off, Jazz came out and speared her. She went for the DDT and Mike Knox came down to the ring and Jazz left. Knox had a towel with him and covered up Kelly. Of course the crowd booed that. As they were about to leave, Balls Mahoney came out.
Balls Mahoney vs. Mike Knox
The crowd was loud for Mahoney. They were chanting something but I couldn't make it out. Mike Knox picked up the win in this one.
Sabu vs. CW Anderson
This was a great match with a lot of action. When Sabu's music came on, all the arenas lights went out. When they came back on he was standing in the ring with a chair and threw at Anderson. Anderson blocked the chair. Then they just wrestled for a while and the action went to the outside. Sabu picked up a chair and Anderson took it away from him. Anderson ran Sabu into the ring post on the outside and hit him with the chair. Sabu took the chair away and got back in the ring. Sabu set the chair up and ran from the other side of the ring. He jumped in the chair, balance himself on the ropes and jumped on Anderson on the outside. That got a big ECW chant. Sabu went under the ring and brought out a table. He set it up in the ring. He laid Anderson up against the table with just his head and arm on the table. He went to the top with a chair and jumped onto Anderson and they went through the table. Sabu picked up the win.
Justin Credible vs. The Sandman
"Dueling Canes match"
Justin Credible was announced first and he came down to the ring. The Sandman then made his entrance through the audience. He went through the crowd to each side of the arena and opened up a beer and spit it all over the audience. The crowd popped big for The Sandman. The Sandman won this one.
Tommy Dreamer vs. Test
Tommy Dreamer came down to the ring and wanted the mic. He thanked all of the fans and said that they, not Vince McMahon, were the reason ECW was back. The crowd started a Asshole chant when he said Vince McMahons name. Dreamer said not to worry about Vince because DX are going to take care of him. Dreamer then started doing the DX crotch chop and said that he had always wanted to do that. Test came down to the ring and the match was underway. Test looked bigger than I remembered him. Looks like he put on some muscle. Test picked up the win here and the crowd chanted "You still suck" to him. While Tommy Dreamer was making his way to the back the crowd started a chant "Thank you Tommy".
RVD vs. The Big Show
The Big Show got some big heel heat. This was a very slow match with RVD playing to the audience a lot. The Big Show was head butting RVD and the crowd started chanting "Same old shit" and the Big Show then did a standing leg drop and the crowd cheered for that. RVD ended up winning this one by pinfall. As the Big Show was leaving the crowd chanted "Thank You Big Show".
This was a pretty good show overall and I felt I got my $25 worth out of it. It was quite a bit shorter than the SmackDown house show I attended last week. This show was only about 2 hours long while the SmackDown show was over 3 hours. I am glad that I went though.
