| From a science point of view, time travel itself is highly improbable, but if it could happen, it is widely believed you could only move forward in time, not backwards, a little like H G Wells' The Time Machine. It's likely this would occur mainly through freezing yourself to a specific moment in time, and allowing the World to move on in regular time around you. This would, of course, mean you'd have to be in a secure location that wouldn't be destroyed by anyone, and wouldn't be tampered with. You would then "awaken" a certain time later in the future.
