From the "take it for what it's worth" department, WWE still hasn't released the first estimated buyrate for Wrestlemania yet, even though it's been over a month since the show. Generally, WWE releases the first estimate of a show within a month. All I have heard so far is that the show was definitely aided by the overseas buys, but I also heard from one source in the PPV industry that the early US number looked softer than anticipated.

Mikk’s Opinion: Is this a sign of WWE keeping something from us? Maybe this year’s Mania didn’t do as well as expected. Lets hope Vince can take something from this and pull his finger out to produce a better wrestling product that people want to see.

OVW Bookers Changing?

Due to the new ECW project, Paul Heyman's days as the Ohio Valley Wrestling booker are dwindling. OVW would like the new bookers to be a combination of Al Snow, Mike Bucci (Simon Dean) and possibly Aaron Stevens. Stevens runs house shows at the moment.

Mikk’s Opinion: Well I don’t know if Bucci would be any good but he’s been around so I can see him bringing fresh ideas to OVW. Lets hope some of Heyman’s qualities have rubbed off on him.

Batista & Booker T Involved in a Fight During Filming Of The Summerslam Commercial.

The fight that broke out between Booker T and Batista at the Summerslam commercial shoot may actually not be something that was done for a future WWE storyline. Both men were said to be legitimately swelling later in the evening. Also, Booker T's wife, Sharmell, became involved at the end of the fight, but not physically involved. More details on this incident will be forthcoming.

Mikk’s Opinion: I’d like to know why they were fighting in the first place. Surely as well Batista would probably have flattened him. I’m also surprised how long it lasted or supposedly lasted. Either way this isn’t good publicity for WWE when 2 of its top talents end up fighting.

Saturday Nights Main Event Returns To Dallas.

On July 15, Saturday Night’s Main Event will be live on NBC once again. Emanating from the American Airlines Center in Dallas, it will be the second edition since the glorious return of Saturday Night’s Main Event earlier this year.

Mikk’s Opinion: I am a fan of SNME but I don’t really see why they have brought it back. It is good to have another duel brand PPV but they should try to improve on the brand only PPV’s first before adding anymore.

Charlie Haas & Jackie Gayda Expecting First Child.

Things are continuing to look up for Charlie Haas. First, the former WWE Tag Team Champion returned last month to defeat Shelton Benjamin. And now, Haas and his wife Jackie are expecting their first baby.
Haas was at the gym training for what he hoped would be a return to WWE when his cell phone rang. It was WWE. “They called to tell me that I was going to be returning to RAW. I left immediately to run home and tell Jackie,” said Haas. “When I got home and told her that I got the call to return to RAW, she said ‘That’s great, because I have some news for you – I’m expecting.’

Mikk’s Opinion: This is always nice to hear when a couple are expecting. Congratulations to both Jackie & Charlie.

Cornette Agrees To Limited Dates For TNA.

ROH Commissioner Jim Cornette wants to squash any rumors before they start. Cornette sent this message along: "I have verbally agreed to a limited number of TNA dates. This will not interfere with my Ring Of Honor commitments. I am committed to Ring Of Honor dates throughout this year and beyond. I look forward to helping ROH grow well into the future,"

Mikk’s Opinion: I’m glad he’s not leaving ROH because that would have been a massive blow if they lost him for good. Of course the flip side is TNA is getting a very experienced person to help make them better and hopefully by the end of the year they will be a major threat to WWE.

News On Debut TNA Show In ECW Arena.

There are a limited number of seats available for TNA's debut show in Philadelphia on June 9. Due to the strong response to this show, officials are looking at locations in New Jersey for a potential second show on June 10. More information will be made available later this week. Tickets are also on sale for UWF/TNA shows in Mooresville (Charlotte) May 26 and Greensboro , NC May 27, the first ever TNA shows in North Carolina. The shows will take place during NASCAR week at Lowes Motor Speedway and feature TNA Stars Jeff Jarrett, Rhino, The James Gang, Team Canada, and others. TNA has scheduled Samoa Joe vs. A.J. Styles vs. Christopher Daniels as the main event of its 6/9 "Hardcore War" show at the ECW Arena in Philadelphia, Pa. Also on the card are Jeff Jarrett vs. Rhino, Jerry Lynn vs. Petey Williams, and Brother Runt vs. Abyss. AMW, Shark Boy, Christy Hemme, and Simon Diamond have also been booked.

Mikk’s Opinion: This is really promising and will hopefully get them the recognition across the country that they would need to compete with the WWE. This is certainly a real step forward and hopefully one day they will tour the world.

Global Impact News & Impact Ratings

Last week's debut episode of 'Global Impact' crashed YouTube for a several hours due to the large amount of viewers trying to see the show.

The 5/6 Saturday replay of TNA iMPACT! drew a final 0.6 cable rating. As reported earlier, the original 5/4 Thursday airing drew a 0.9 rating. This took TNA to a combined 1.5 rating overall for both shows.

Mikk’s Opinion: I did manage to catch the first Global Impact show and it did impress. Jeremy & Christy presented and was pretty much how the WWE Pre PPV shows used to be like back in the day. Impact is also around the rating I’d expect being in the timeslot it’s in.

Death Before Dishonor IV Venue Announced.

It is with great importance that we announce that "Death Before Dishonor IV" will be on July 15th in Philadelphia at the National Guard Armory. It is important because for ROH it will truly be a night where death will be the only acceptable alternative to being dishonored again in Philadelphia. We have something big for you John Zandig and CZW. You have no idea what is about to happen.

Mikk’s Opinion: This could be the event where the CZW invasion finishes. Hopefully though I’d like to see it carry on to the end of the year.
This feud certainly has been the best angle I’ve seen in any promotion for quite some time.

The first five names for the highly anticipated Ring of Honor UK tour will be announced this Friday. The announcement will be made exclusively in the Daily Stars “Fighting Talk” column by Patrick Lennon. This will be the start of many Daily Star exclusives for the upcoming ROH August tour.

Mikk’s Opinion: I can’t wait to see who they announce. Hopefully they will bring people like Homicide, Colt Cabana & Samoa Joe over for these shows. I know I’m trying my hardest to get tickets for either event and would love it if I was able to attend either show.
