WC Hall of Famer Non Wrestling Member of the Month
Total Awards: 2
RAW VISION: April 24, 2006

This will probably be a bit shorter then my usual reviews for RAW seeing how there wasn't much of note on this program.. Maybe it was because it was taped in the UK, some will debate, or maybe it was just because we are so close to Backlash.

-The show started off with an Edge promo followed by an appearence from HHH. Edge and HHH jawed back and forth and HHH was pretty good here getting in some funny lines about comparing him and Edge's respective title reigns to that of Edge not "lasting long" sexual induendo of course... HHH continued on with Edge and some remarks on Lita until John Cena showed up and a brawl ensued. The Spirit Squad of all people showed up and announced that it will be the 5 of them against the three (HHH,Cena, Edge) in a handicap match later in the night. I liked the idea at first because it gives SS more exposure and continues to build the main event for the PPV. Later in the show, Lita was shown backstage talking to HHH and wanted to see if HHH was on the same page in working with Edge and Cena during the match later in the night to save themselves for the PPV. HHH said thanks but at the PPV her boyfriend will be getting his ass kicked. Lita then said "Well, if that were to happen, maybe I'll let you hit me with your sledgehammer" More induendo and HHH took it as that. Are they teasing a Lita turn somewhere here? I dunno..

The show really went down hill from here..

- You had a 6-man tag between Carlito, Haas, and RVD against Masters, Striker, and Shelton.. The action wasn't bad but it didn't do that much to hype their matches for the PPV.

- Umaga squashed a jobber. Some of his offense was ok again, I'm not an Umaga hater so this doesn't bother me.. Flair showed up and brawled with Umaga, the match was set for Backlash..

- Trish and Mickie had a quick promo and Mickie was dressed as Mickie this week. She was done playing mind games to make it look like Trish had gotten to her and Trish came out still as "Mickie" to further upset the real Mickie. Not much here really but the feud has been built brilliant leading into the PPV.

-Kane hurt Big Show's eye backstage.. brawl over May 19th.. Ugh..

- There was a bikini contest which involved Victoria, Maria, Candice, and Torrie. Honestly, Victoria has the best body of all the women out there. Amazing body.. The fans seemed to like Maria the best but Coach who was announcing the segment declared Candice the winner. Then Coach wanted to make out with Candice in which she refused.. Big Vis showed up and beat the hell out of coach, and then for some odd reason Candice made out with Vis instead. Disgusting.. Big Vis should have been fired a while ago.

- In my favorite spot of the night, Shane McMahon took on HBK to prep for the "tag match" at the PPV. This was a decent contest.. Say what you want about Shane he can get it done.. and the match ended in a No Contest when Shane put HBK through the announce table with an elbow drop off the top rope... Mr. McMahon said "God" wasn't here to save HBK and he won't do anything at the PPV either, which means he will do something.. I don't know, ther match will probably be interesting nonetheless because I expect Shane and HBK at least to put on a good show.

- In the main event the SS ended up getting squashed and that's what I didn't like.. There are 5 of them, they could have looked a little more competitive but they are young, still tag champs, they'll recover. Cena and HHH brawled post-match while Edge looked on with a smile on his face.. that closed out the show. I guess there wasn't much to do. They built the feud very well and its time to get it on at Backlash.

Overall like I said, there really wasn't much that went on... I give this RAW a....
