Re: Report: Favre Will Retire

Drew Bledsoe

Joe Namath sucked (more career INTs than TDs), and I'm not gonna give him credit for one good game, in which his team only scored 16 points on a rushing TD and 3 FGs. His defense's 4 INTs probably had a lot more to do with them winning than anything Namath did on the field

Football is football, regardless of the time of year it's being played. It's about throwing, catching, blocking, etc. It doesnt magically "change" when the calendar turns to January.

Sometimes good players have bad games, and sometimes bad players have good games. It's just the way things go, but when it happens in the playoffs, to most fans/sportswriters it's never a matter of circumstance, it's always some deficiency of character that causes a player to "choke" or some virtuous trait that makes them "clutch". There always has to be some deeper meaning behind things that happen in the playoffs, when in actuality it's very often a matter of luck
