Your personal feelings aside, there was (and still is) a HUGE community of football gamers who will argue that the last 2K5 game was the best football simulation ever made. Look at the OperationSports message boards -- that game still has its own active forum.

I remember back then, even devoted Madden players who just couldn't make the transition no matter how hard they tried (myself included) would admit that the 2K looked better and played a far more realistic game of football.
