If I'm understanding the UK taxation rate right, the average American (Assuming a $45,000 a year salary) would be paying $4,950 (11% taxation rate) a year. On top of that, the employer has to match an additional 12.8%, which means another $5,760. The only advantage is that this would likely eliminate medicare, and the 1.45% tax that both the employee and the employer pay. So you can essentially assume a savings of $652.
