Pleasure to them lay not in accomplishments, but instead they get their pleasure from injecting things into their body. Things that are not supposed to be there. They call that pleasure. They call it an escape. I call it weakness...Jeff Hardy...I'm going to exploit your weaknesses and prove to you that being straight edge means I’m better than you! You’re a great wrestler, but tonight…I challenge you to a match, a ladder match…For the ECW Title.”
CM Punk drops the microphone and begins walking up the ramp towards the backstage. Suddenly Jeff Hardy jumps over the barricade and runs in the direction of CM Punk and executes a face buster, picking him up off the ramp he kicks him in the gut and gets him ready for an Extreme Twist of Fate and CM Punks head is drove straight into the steel ramp! CM Punk looks like he’s out cold!
Jeff Hardy grabs a mic “I accept” He says throwing the microphone down at Punk.
We can see CM Punk gradually getting up a few minutes after the assault stumbling towards the backstage, Jeff Hardy seems to be nowhere in sight | I had read this part already so i knew what was coming. My preferance would be to have had an original start the new show rather than one of the new breed & a dubutant. You did well to build up the match later tonight & it didnt drag on. Punk said just enough to cover everything without getting repative. Still a good start & a nice way to open the show. Quote: Match 1) Ruckus Vs Paul Birchall
Ruckus appears on stage, holding a chair above his head while cheering towards the crowd, he then sprints towards the ring and climbs a turn buckle, raising the chair above his head once more. Jumping down from the turn buckle he then turns towards the stage.
Birchall quickly runs towards the ring, sliding in. As soon as his second foot touches the mat he runs towards Ruckus. Ducking a chair shot, he kicks Ruckus in the calf causing him to drop the chair. Birchall then grabs his head and executes reverse DDT.
Birchall attempts a standing moonsault only to be left face first onto the mat as Ruckus quickly rolls out of the way and gets back onto his feet. Running towards the ropes Ruckus attempts a spring board leg drop only to be caught by Birchall who reverses it into a northern lights suplex! Ruckus is laid out on the ring! Birchall attempts the pin...1…2…Ruckus kicks out!
Birchall picks Ruckus up off the matt and drags him towards the chair…C4!!! Ruckus’s head bounces straight off the chair is Birchall goes for the pin 1…2…3! Winner: Paul Birchall by Pin Fall
Paul Birchall grabs a microphone begins to speak “I’ve just shown you the start of something many wrestlers on this roster will feel, total pain, I have no fear, You can bring your weapons…I’ll still use my fists…You can bring your friends and I’ll still fight all of you and win, I fear no man, Or woman, Or anything for that matter!” Birchall drops the mic and exits the ring.
| The match itself was basic but the aftermatch promo really built Birchall as a mon on a mission & not the fat rapper type. Made Birchill seem like a legit badass. Quote: Match 2) Austin Aries Vs Colt Cabana
Colt Cabana begins dancing on his way towards the ring, pointing towards Austin Aries and dancing some more; swinging a towel around as he makes his way to the ring, after climbing onto it he offers Aries a dance off…
But Aries replies with a clothes line that Colt Cabana counters into an Arm Drag! With Aries layed out on the mat Cabana climbs the turn buckle but hesitates, Aries suddenly gets up and jumps straight up to the top rope were he begins to exchange blows with Cabana. Getting the upper hand Aries executes a back suplex; both wrestlers are down on the matt… The ref starts counting...1…2….3….4…
Cabana slowly gets up from the ring and applies the Chicago Crab (Inverted Boston Crab) on Aries, trying to struggle out of the submission grabs onto the bottom rope and pulls himself forward causing Cabana to fall onto his back
Aries jumps onto the top rope and attempts a 450 Splash! The ref stars to count the pin 1...2… Cabana counters it into a pin of his own; both wrestlers’ elbows are against the mat! The ref doesn’t know what to do! He begins to count both wrestlers! 1...2…3!!!
Colt Cabana helps Austin Aries up and extends his hand; they both shake hands and leave the ring. Winner: Draw via Double Pin Fall | A good match here. Nice & even so as to build both men as forces. The draw was a good idea as both guys are young & could end up being in your main event but not if they lose matchs like this.
But the end seems a bit random with Cabana still having his shoulders down despite just countering into a pinfall himself. If you intended it to be a small package then it works but otherwise i just cant picture how you have it ending.
The handshake seems out of place after having Aries jumpstart the match by trying to attack Cabana. Quote: |
Paul Heyman appears on the TitanTron. “I hope you’re enjoying ECW as it should be, we’re not going to be what WWE wants us to be, we’re going to separate ourselves from the other two bands and give you the fans a mix of hardcore and highflying action that ECW is known for. You’ll recognise some of the stars and you the fans will help me make new ones. ECW is here to stay, it never died because you helped it live. The next match tonight will be an ECW Extreme Rules match: Sabu versus Raven I hope you enjoy.” Paul Heyman stops talking and grins, the video cuts out.
| Good promo from Paul E. Kept him in caracter with the not going to be what WWE wants comment. Puts him over as a rebel type GM, like ECW was during it original run. Which, going by Nick's backstory, is what your intentsions are so nice work again. Quote: Match 3) Sabu Vs Raven in a ‘ECW Extreme Rules’ Match
We can see that Sabu has already made his way to the ring, setting up a table he waits for Raven to make his appearance.
Raven can be seen pushing a shopping cart down the ramp; it seems filled with various weapons. Most can not be identified unless seen upclose.
Raven picks out the 2 x 4 and brings it in the ring with him. The match starts, Sabu quickly attempts a springboard cross body but is stopped in mid-flight by a hit to the gut by Raven’s 2 x 4. Blow after blow Raven hits Sabu on the floor with the piece of wood.
He then exits the ring and takes a chair from a fan… Just as Raven turns around Sabu attempts a suicide dive through the ropes but gets hit in the head by Raven’s chair. Slowly helping himself up from the ground Sabu pushes Raven head first into the turn buckle. As Ravens head bounces off and Sabu walks over to the shopping cart shifting through the various items but revealing a spool of barbed wire.
Reaching in the ring for the 2 x 4 Sabu wraps the barbed wire around the plank of wood, raising it above his head the fans cheer loudly. He then points it towards Raven who has been knocked onto the ground and helps him up, attempting to drive the 2 x 4 into Ravens Forehead; Raven extends his arms and pushes against both sides of the 2 x 4, his hand getting cut open in the process.
Raven powers out of the struggle by kicking Sabu in the gut causing him to drop the 2 x 4, Raven attempts the Raven Effect! He Hits It! But Raven doesn’t seem done yet! He gets a bag out from the shopping cart and climbs into the ring. Empting the contents of the bag and revealing what seems to be thumbtacks over the table he then climbs out of the ring, grabbing Sabu and hitting his head against the turn buckle he pushes him back in the ring.
Raven inspects the table making sure it’s completely covered in thumbtacks Sabu suddenly gets up and executes a springboard tornado DDT through the table! Raven shakes as the thumbtacks pierce through his skin! Sabu goes for the pin...1...2…3 Sabu wins! Winner: Sabu via Pin Fall
We see Raven receiving medical attention at the ring, he’s pretty cut up and Raven just seems to be laying there shaking semi-violently, he’s stretched off to the ambulance backstage. Joey Styles: We’re about to take a commercial break, What happened in this ring tonight was brutal, I have never seen Raven succumb to that amount of pain that he’s had to be stretched off Tazz: Yeah, Man I have never seen that amount of brutality inflicted on Raven before, I just hope the guys alright Joey Styles: Welcome back to ECW, Now from what we’ve heard there has been an attack on the ambulance that Raven was being treated in; we’re now receiving footage of the incident
We see a video appear on the TitanTron which shows Sabu walking backstage with the 2 x 4 wrapped and stained in blood, probably the one used earlier. He spots the ambulance Raven’s situated in and runs up, smashing the back windows through and hitting the door repeatedly with the 2 x 4. We see one of the doors opening and a doctor rushes out but gets attacked by Sabu! DDT! That came out of nowhere!
Sabu climbs into the ambulance, but its empty, he begins tossing the equipment around. Jumping down from the ambulance he looks around…”Sabu, You’re a pathetic piece of human flesh, the glory that you once had in that match has now vanquished, like the dreams of a young soldier wanting to see the world. You’re ending will come by my hands, not just in wrestling, but you’re soul will be reattributed among the torn elements of evil that your mind contains” Out of nowhere Sabu gets struck around the back of the head with a piece of lead pipe by Raven! “This is the beginning of the end, Quoth the Raven…Nevermore!” The video blacks out to reveal Jeff Hardy standing in the ring
| My favourite part so far. I was however dissapointed the 2x4 featured so heavily in the match, i'd have brought more weapons in since it doesnt seem you'll be doing all matches in Extreme Rules.
The after match promo from Raven was brilliant & perfectly in caracter for him. Very good work. Quote: Match 4) Jeff Hardy Vs CM Punk in a Ladder Match for the ECW Title
CM Punks music hits the arena as the fans go wild, He begins to walk down the stage and onto the ramp, looking at the fans but stopping to notice one that has a beer, he stops walking down the ramp to grab the beverage out of a fans hand and throwing it back in his face “You can ruin your body, but not while am around!” he starts walking towards the ring, the booing getting louder as he makes his way to Jeff Hardy
The ref rings the bell and the match starts with CM Punk and Jeff locking up, exchanging blows, CM Punk elbows Jeff in the back and knees him in the chest, pushing Jeff away from him he quickly runs towards Jeff and hits a shuffle side kick, Jeff looks dazed from that shot! CM Punk quickly attempts a springboard clothes line taking both him and Jeff to the Mat, Punk goes for the cover! 1…2...Jeff kicks out!
Punk begins to pick Jeff of the floor, kneeing Jeff in the gut he Irish whips him towards the turn buckle and charges towards him but Jeff moves out of the way at the last second sending Punks shoulder crashing into the steel turn buckle. Jeff grabs CM Punk and Irish whips him towards the ropes, Huracanrana! Punk gets thrown across the ring but quickly gets up, suddenly noticing that Jeff is running towards him he attempts a shuffle kick to Jeff’s face but he ducks! Jeff counters the kick with an arm drag take down and begins to climb the turnbuckle, looking at CM Punk he taunts and attempts a 450° splash! He goes for the pin 1…2…Punk kicks out just before the ref counts to three!
CM Punk pushes Jeff off him and begins to kick him in the stomach, lifting him up to begin an onslaught of slaps and backhand chops to Jeff’s chest, following it up with a roundhouse kick. Jeff Hardy falls to the mat.
Will this be CM Punks chance? He climbs out of the ring and grabs a ladder setting it up in the middle of the ring, climbing up it he could reach for the title at any second but he looks down towards Jeff Hardy who looks out cold, he attempts an elbow drop! Punk lands harshly on the Knees of Jeff Hardy who quickly gets up and begins to climb the ladder and attempts to remove the belt from the chain it’s suspended from.
Out of nowhere CM Punk gets up, slightly dazed he quickly shakes out of it and runs towards the ropes, using the momentum to drop kick the leg of the ladder causing Jeff Hardy to fall onto the ropes! CM Punk quickly sets up the ladder climbing up it he removes the belt! He climbs down and pulls Jeff Hardy off the ropes, picking him up just to knock him back down with a blow to the skull with the belt! He’s busted open!
Winner: CM Punk by Grabbing The Belt
Punk climbs out of the ring and snatches a microphone from the announcers table and slides back into the ring, walking towards Jeff Hardy and putting the title towards his bloodied head, speaks into the mic “Straight edge just proved I’m better than you!” He then slams Jeff Hardy’s head down back onto the matt and begins walking backstage
| Good job of re-establishing that Punk is now heel. The end seems a little forced but its understandable not wanting the match to drag on while still working in the highspots.
My Ratings: Match Making: 8/10. The opening match let it down as it was basically a squash match. Birchill was never losing in my eyes. Match Writing: 7/10. Some seemed to rush towards the finish. More build to the finish would help. Promos: 9.5/10. Nearly perfect. Only lost points for Heyman being a video instead of in-ring. Spelling/Grammer: 6/10. A few spelling mistakes but nothing major. You lost points because some sentances seemed to run and run making it harder to follow. Flow: 8/10. Useing the commercial break trick more than once brought it down a little. Overall: 75% Grade. Keep up the good work. |
